"Pray tell me, M., what part of
the contract have I not fulfilled." Jesse is smirking now, he's so
desperate, he's unable to express his true feelings and he angrier with himself
than with M. "I was told I would have 4 weeks paid vacation every
year, Mr. Jacobi. I have yet to get my full 4 weeks any year."
Every time I go on vacation, you find something, some way to get me back after
no more than three days. And, that's just one part of the contract you have not
fulfilled. You also promised me that I would get more say in the running
of the office, that I would be able to travel, that I would".....she
continues to list one after another promise that has been broken. Jesse is
speechless, he has no rebuttal, he knows she is correct. "Come on,
I'll take you back to the Villa, M." He gets up and walks away, M
follows with tears in her eyes. She didn't want things to end this
way. She thought he would be happy for her.

Back at the Villa, Sarah has
received word that after arresting Edgar, the Principal, there was a
hearing, bail was set, he was released after his attorney posted bail; Edgar is
now on the run. The last a neighbor heard was his angry words of
"I'm going to hunt her down and do what I should have done when I first
caught her." Brian and Steve are keeping Sarah guarded; she
will not be going anywhere by herself. Scared, but Sarah feels she is
well protected with Brain, Steve and all the bachelors/ettes nearby. She
has been able to get money from her bank, her credit cards, so she Steve,
Renee, Brian and Mimi will be doing some shopping today. And, she can pay
Steve back!

At the Bachelor Villa, Mark has an
important meeting at a nearby Jeweler, he will be getting something special for
Marlee; he's looking forward to their movie date night.

Okay, fellow writers, I'm finished for tonight. I'm
going to be busy tomorrow, doctors appointments for the kids, more school
shopping, I may not be able to write until Wed. Lub you all, Mackey

After their performance at the
karaoke contest the night before, Troy and Corey were certain that Jenarosa and
Penina would be their first one on one dates if the girls accepted that is.
Thankfully both girls agreed to go and the twin men were relieved that all of
that 'positraction' from their song would not be wasted. The romantic walks on
the beach seemed to help in their pleas for the date, the huge orange moon
overhead only serving to enhance their offers. Jen and Penny were happy to be
invited by their favorite bachelors and were looking forward to a night of one
on one alone time as there had been zippo of that so far. "So, boys, where
will you be taking us," Penny asked with some serious honey dolloped on
the tip of her tongue and a tilt of her beautiful brunette curls. Corey forgot
her question briefly as he gazed into her luminous blue eyes that definitely
seemed more periwinkle in the moonlight. "Um-we're uh going to
someplace." he began with some lapses that signaled his clear distraction by
the curvaceous beauty. "We're keeping that a secret for now girls,"
Troy stated, annoyed that his brother almost gave away the mystery. "Just
pack a swimsuit, and keep the rest dressy casual," Troy again explained.
By this time the foursome had reached the girls' villa and after lingering over
some steamy smooching, the two sets of twins separated for the night, looking
forward to the upcoming assignation...

Waking up the next morning was a bit
more difficult than Amelia expected it would be. She actually felt a soreness
in her legs and feet that surprised her. Then she remembered her act with Sam
and the 7" stiletto boots she wore and it all made some sense. "How
does Gaga wear those," Amelia groaned aloud. With a bit of determination
and some grumbling Amelia got out of bed and greeted the day with a smile
however crooked it appeared. She had a blast with Sam at karaoke and only
wished that one of them had been in the last limo. Then they would be having a
one on one date coming up. For now she would just have to spend some time by
the pool to recuperate. No yoga or zumba for her till at least tomorrow. She
was a little upset that their connection from last night had been interrupted
and that they had to be separated just when things were getting good-no-GREAT!
Amelia smiled again at the thought of him in the mankini and her grin grew till
she was actually beaming! "Good times-Goooood times for sure," she
nodded to herself...

Upon returning to the Women's Villa,
as Jesse pulled his Jaguar up to the front door, M hurriedly opens the
passenger door and goes running into the villa. At the same time, out the
door comes Sarah, Renee, Mimi, Steve and Brian; they were on their way to help
Sarah with her shopping. Brian sees M running, he calls out, "Wait
up you all, let me see what's with M, I'll be right with you." Jesse
is standing by the driver's door with real pain on his face; he is
crest-fallen; he doesn't know what to do!

Brian makes it to M, she sees him
and throws her arms around him, "Oh Brian, I'm so glad to see you"
she cries. Jesse sees this and he is even more pained, he thinks Oh, there's something going on between them,
why else would she throw herself into his arms like that, I wish it was me she
was running to, but I messed up, so she runs off to her new boyfriend.

M explains to Brian what has
happened, he invites her to go shopping with them, she agrees and goes to meet
with the others. Meanwhile Brian goes over to Jesse. "Jesse,
that is not what you think it is. M is my friend, she's like a kid sister
and she feels safe with me. Think nothing of that hug. Now, tell me
what in the heck happened, I thought I told you to approach her to court her,
not as her boss. Man, from what she just told me, you really messed
things up with her. Meet me later, we're taking Sarah shopping, I'll call
you when we get back. You and I have some serious talking to do; I'll
call you later. Brian then leaves.

Jesse is somewhat relieved, he
leaves.

Ha, Ha, Mackey! I was thinking that myself this morning – how fitting that our story is set in San Diego and that you wrote in a wedding with Ali in Old Town, during our Scavenger Hunt. I’m sure our readers can edit that scene in their minds to be the wedding of Ali & Roberto! LOL! Ha! Love you, S&T

Greg had tried to figure out a good first date with Mehreen. He had considered golfing, tennis, bowling, and rockwall climbing, but he didn’t want to put her out of her comfort zone and he wasn’t sure if she liked any of those activities. He decided on a more simple date . . . dinner and a movie. ABC had made all the arrangements and Greg arrived at the Women’s Villa at 7:00 sharp to pick up Mehreen. He was dressed in a taupe polo shirt and jeans and couldn’t wait to see his date!

Mehreen walked out to meet Greg with mixed feelings. It was exciting to be one of the first Bachelorettes to have a one-on-one date, but she wondered if she was dating the right guy. She sighed, knowing she had to keep her mind and heart open, if she wanted this experience to end in love. She smiled at Greg as she entered the living room where he was waiting. “Hi, Mehreen. I love that blouse,” Greg said, taking her hands and kissing her on the cheek. “Thanks, Greg!” Greg took her hand and they waved goodbye to the group of Bachelorettes, watching them and grinning from ear to ear.

A half an hour later, the couple arrived at Monsoon, a popular Indian restaurant that served Pakistani dishes. As they sat down and took in the eclectic atmosphere created by stone walls, a waterfall, and antique-looking chandeliers, they also noticed the feature wall, designed with a large rectangular frame containing wooden honey-comb-shaped bins that served as a wine rack. “This is so unique,” Mehreen said. “And lovely. It was so thoughtful of you to choose a place that serves Pakistani food.” “Well, I thought you might be ready for a taste of home about now, and I love the food myself.” Dinner was pleasant. The food was wonderful. Mehreen had ordered lamb kabob, a staple of her childhood lunchboxes and a true taste sensation of home, although her mother’s kabobs were so much better, of course. Greg opted for Dizzy Noo Shak Banana Curry just because it sounded like fun. Their conversation was full of little details that struck them as important to share. “I grew up in Pittsburgh,” Greg said. “Of course, I was a Steelers fan from the time I knew what football was . . . “Mehreen, confided, “My brothers always protected me. They watched me like a hawk in High School. I was lucky I ever got to go to a dance . . .” “Once I got to Ann Arbor, I knew I wanted to stay there. So after Law School . . .” “The College of New Jersey has a great program in Education, so I decided to go there . . .” “Did you hear that Faith and I actually attended summer camps across the lake from each other? . . .” While they were having dessert, Greg told Mehreen that the night wasn’t over yet. “We’re going to see a movie!” “That sounds like fun,” Mehreen said. She was having a nice evening. Greg had shown how thoughtful and sweet he was, but Bill was in the background of her mind. Greg would be great for Faith! Mehreen thought.

The movie had been set up at the small auditorium on the grounds of Hotel del Coronado. Mehreen and Greg took seats in the middle of the theatre and were supplied with popcorn, soda, and all of the movie candy they could have wanted. “So, what are we seeing?” asked Mehreen. “Oh, you’ll see in a few minutes. I want it to be a surprise.” The lights dimmed and the screen lit up. The movie was something called “Love With a Proper Stranger.” It was an old, black and white move from the ‘60s, with Natalie Wood and Steve McQueen. Mehreen had never heard of it. The movie opened in Macy’s Department store in New York City where Natalie Wood’s character, Angie Rossini worked as a salelady. Angie was the American daughter of an Italian immigrant family, who had a big problem. Steve McQueen was a struggling musician responsible for the problem and trying to do the responsible thing. Mehreen was stunned to see Steve McQueen and Natalie Wood together on the screen. “Greg,” she said. “They look like us!” Greg laughed and hugged her around the shoulder. “That’s one reason why I chose this movie! I told you you remind me of Natalie Wood and I’ve always been told I look like Steve McQueen!” Mehreen wasn’t quite sure how she felt about that or the fact that Angie was dealing with an unwanted pregnancy and a family with old-world values. She felt confused by the messages she was getting from Greg.

Later, as Greg walked Mehreen back to the Women’s Villa, he explained, “I’ve always loved that movie. I understand when it was made it was a bit scandalous with the theme of an unmarried girl with an unwanted pregnancy, but I love the way it works out all right in the end and I love the theme song.” “It was a good movie,” Mehreen agreed. At the door, Greg gave Mehreen a respectful kiss on the cheek and she thanked him and gave him a hug, before saying goodbye and going into the Villa. Hmmm, thought Greg. Nice girl, but now I’m wondering, if she’s right for me.

Charlie and Carrie set out on Friday night, so happy to be together. There were so many fun things to do in San Diego, but what mattered most to them was having a chance to talk. They had decided a quiet dinner was the best idea and had reservations at the hotel’s 1500 Ocean Restaurant. Charlie was dressed for the evening in a well-tailored navy blue suit with a light blue shirt and a blue on blue print tie. Carrie wore a pink silk dress with an empire waist, trimmed with small pink cloth rosebuds and a hem that fell to just above her knee. She looked very feminine in her strappy silver high-heeled sandals. They were seated in a private booth flanked by creamy, ivory curtain. The curtains could be closed for privacy. The table was covered with a thick ivory-colored damask cloth that contrasted with the buttery gold on the walls and the gleaming, honey-colored wood trim. “This place is gorgeous,” Carrie said breathlessly. “Not as gorgeous as you, Sweetheart,” Charlie said, sincerely. “You take my breath away tonight.” Carrie looked into Charlie’s blue eyes and sighed. “This is so great! We actually get a whole evening by ourselves.” Charlie reached across the table and entwined his fingers with Carrie’s. “Yes, we do! So what would you
like to eat this evening, because I’m starved?” Carrie laughed. The couple busied themselves with the menu for a few minutes.

Grabbing her hairbrush, Jen ran it through her hair with one last swish. The guys were at the door and the girlsmade it downstairs in record time. Penny had thought to bring along theirtennis shoes, as Corey had clued her in on that one, since Troy had neglected to mention it. Thankfully Corey was on the ball since the girls learned they would be making several stops that day, the first of which would be the San
Diego Zoo. Slipping into her streamlined Pumas Jenarosa slid closer to Troy in the back seat and was content to snuggle up as he wrapped his arm around her shoulders. Inching even closer Jen could detect the clean soap scent that emanated from his skin. That pleased her as she was not too fond of strong colognes that many young men wore these days. On the other hand, Penny adored the very appealing masculine fragrances and especially the one that Corey splashed on. That was one of the first things she noticed about him and she could not get enough of it. Pheromones were real in her book and whatever it was that Corey wore blended with his body chemistry to create a potent aphrodisiac as far as she was concerned. sometimes she had to remind herself that there were cameras around as he was becoming very hard to resist...

The rental car arrived at the zoo in
record time and so for now the cuddle session was terminated. Penny was never
so sad to get to her destination as she was today. But she put on a happy smile
and Corey was more smitten than ever. For next to her gorgeous blue eyes, he
loved her wide smile the most. When she smiled at him it was if the skies
opened and he was getting ready to have the best day ever. Troy opened the door
for his date and the four emerged ready to let the games begin. Jen noticed the
signs announcing the zoo was celebrating Giant Panda Birthday Week. The twins
figured this may play into part of their date. They had never seen pandas before
and so were eager for the tour to begin. Because they were not spending all day
at the zoo they hopped on the small tour bus that would take them to the
African and Asian wild animal sites. Penny just hoped she would get to see the
giraffes-they had been her favorites since she was a young girl...

Mark meets with the Jeweler.
He got just what he wanted. He was ready to give it to the girl of his
dreams; the one girl he was falling in love with. He felt good; he was
looking forward to his movie date with Marlee.

Also going on movie dates: Renee and
Ross; Kathleen and Brad, Jackson and Mimi, Steve was taking M, Brian and Sarah
would "be chaperones" as Brian said.

Carrie and Charlie had a great time at dinner. They laughed over the Karaoke acts from the night before. They talked about the friends they had made among the other Bachelors and Bachelorettes. Charlie was closest to Sam, Troy, and Corey. Carrie really enjoyed Mehreen, Faith, Amy, and Emily. But, in truth, they both really liked everyone and felt the feeling reciprocated. Of course, they had to discuss the “game” and their strategy. “Charlie, I still don’t get it. Where is the Survivor in Bachelor Survivor?” “You know, I don’t have that figured out yet either. Maybe they’re waiting until the numbers thin out a bit? I know there is more than they are telling us. We wouldn’t have been given Individual Immunity the first night and we wouldn’t have found those Hidden Immunity Idols, if there wasn’t. I keep wondering if Chris will make an announcement on Monday night.” “Me, too! Do you think we should bring our Hidden Immunity Idols to the next Tribal Council? . . . oops . . .Ha, Ha, . . . I mean, the next Rose Ceremony?” Charlie laughed too. ”I was thinking that would be a good idea. Just bring it along, in case you need it. If you don’t, no one will be the wiser.” “That sounds like a good plan.” Carrie agreed. She’d wear her dress with a gray knit top and a full skirted black dots on black chiffon skirt. It had pockets and she could carry the little wooden Bride doll without arousing any suspicion. “Also, if Chris doesn’t say anything on Monday, we should still both look for another Hidden Immunity Idol next week. This time I think they’ll hide it around the Villa.” “Charlie, that is brilliant! I’ll bet you’re right!” She leaned over and kissed her handsome date on the lips. Charlie felt his heart skip a beat. He picked up her hand from the table, and kissed it gently. They sat staring at each other for a minute. Then Charlie remembered he had some more to say. “OK, the next few days we won’t be able to see each other. So, we each need to keep our eyes out for anything that may be going on. I really don’t think that other alliances have been formed. Of course, we all have made our friends and tend to hang out with them, but I don’t feel like anyone has taken this game seriously, except us.” “Charlie, I agree about that. The girls are more worried about usual girl stuff . . . who they like . . . what they will wear . . . getting a tan . . . doing their nails . . . fixing their hair.” “Well, that is good for us, then, isn’t it?” said Charlie, raising his glass of wine. “Yes, it is!” Carrie nodded. “Cheers!”

The couples climbed aboard the small
tour bus and seated themselves on opposite side increasing their privacy
parameters a bit. And although there were plenty of other people around the
African park they still felt as if they were in their own little worlds. Taking
out cameras and water bottle bottles, the four began snapping pictures as they
wound their way through the 'Serengeti' Safari. The oribis and gnus drank from
the water slowly, their black striped and brown tails lazily swatting away the
few gnats that were flitting over their hides. The bus slowed for pics and then
moved on to other water animals. The rhinos and hippos squirmed in the muddy
banks getting their daily beauty masks rubbed on just so. The vehicle was one
smooth ride considering their surroundings and the four enjoyed the short stops
for pictures, the unusual companions that surrounded them and Corey's hilarious
attempts at 'aping' all of their moves. The large land mammals were the last of
the African inhabitants to be seen. The looked on with annoyance at these
visitors as the four had no bananas to give them for treats; yes-they had no
bananas today. Smile At last the bus reached the giraffes! Penny could scarcely
contain her excitement. she could see the mama and baby giraffes and the taller
bolder papas. She really want to pet a baby but knew that was a no-no. But one
of the mama giraffes bent down to sniff her ear and Penny nearly fainted with
glee. "OMG-that tickles so much!! Her nose is so soft I can't believe
it," Penny stated, actually awestruck. She did set boundaries when that
same mama tried to lick her cheek and Penny laughed nervously, not too sure if
the giraffe was that friendly or not. But she and Jen did pose by a family of
giraffes, the breeze blowing their brunette hair practically into baby
giraffe's face. "Did you see the eyes on that baby," Jen kept asking.
For the eyes and its long lashes was the cutest thing the twins had ever
seen...

After dinner, Carrie and Charlie walked down to the beach. Carrie took off her sandals and left them on a rock. Charlie removed his dress shoes and socks and rolled up his suit pants. They held hands as they strolled down to the water. “What a beautiful night!” said Carrie. “Yes,” Charlie agreed, pulling Carrie into his arms. ‘I’ve loved every minute with you. Carrie, you are so special.” They hugged and looked into each other’s faces. “Carrie,” Charlie said softly. “May I kiss you?” Carrie nodded and closed her eyes. Charlie tucked he hand under her chin and slowly lowered his mouth to her soft lips. He kissed her very gently. Carrie responded with a firm kiss and suddenly they were tossing caution to the wind and kissing passionately under the moon.

Woo
hoo S&T and Mack!! Great writing and ideas going on here!! Smile

The ride through the Asian 'jungle'
was shortened because of the time crunch. The water birds were colorful and
chirping and the amphibians slithering and sneaky. Jen was surprised to see how
fast the kimodo dragon could move and had no idea it was that large. The bamboo
gardens were nearby in order to provide foliage for the pandas to dine on. Troy
assumed that the giant panda would be their next exhibit and he was right. The
party had begun to celebrate the panda birthday, and cake was even provided,
along with hand wipes. Penny was intrigued to watch the panda as it consumed
the bamboo leaves one or two at a time; hardly ravaging the branch at all. It
was big alright. It was one of the males and there were four other pandas that
they couldn't see because of the crowd. After a few pictures the four bach/ettes
moved on to see the Indian elephants. They all laughed as the animals used
their trunks to give themselves baths. Troy tried to mimic the elephant wail
but failed; it was hysterical watching him try though. Penny and Jen were
beginning to get hungry and the group decided to just drive slowly through the
lions and tigers and bears-(oh my!) in order to speed up the process a little.
The zoo was a hit as the ice was broken and both couples were more comfortable
around each other. They felt ready to take this date to the next level and
enjoy a more intimate setting for the more personal questions and the
proverbial 'how well do we really relate as mates' issues. In other words are
we compatible...

The stop at the little gift boutique
had the girls stumped. As their escorts wandered among the jewelry and clothing
merchandized in a way to promote sales, Jen was struck by the charm bracelet
done in black and white. On it was a tiny panda munching a bamboo leaf and she
was amazed at its petiteness-you couldn't even tell it was a little bear. Troy
took it from her hand and made the purchase. He then placed it around her wrist
and kissed her ear, whispering, "Now we have something to which we can
attach our special memories." Jenarosa hugged Troy and realized that this
man was sweeping her off her feet. She adored small gestures like these and as
she looked into his pale turquoise eyes she thanked him with a gentle kiss,
knowing that this man was winning her over in a big way. Corey had already
spied his purchase and grabbed it before Penny could see it. It was a similar
bracelet to Jen's but done in brown and gold-and was the last one. Corey
reached out for Penny's hand and placed his sparkling gift on her wrist It took
a moment for her to figure out what was on the bracelet but as soon as Penny
squealed Jen knew what it was. "LOOK! Look at this-the cutest little giraffe
ever! And it has beautiful crystal eyes and long eyelashes!" Penny was
absolutely giddy such was her delight. She practically jumped on Corey and
macked away, kissing every available spot on his face. Jen tugged on Penny and
pulled her out of the store as all of the shoppers there seemed intent on
watching and commenting on every smack that Penny laid on Corey. Corey laughed
with abandon at her outrageous display. And this scenario was pretty much
summed up the biggest differences between the twins: Corey and Penny were more
comedic and demonstrative, and Troy and Jen were more responsible and guarded
in nature...

Having grown up in San Diego, Troy
and Corey knew their way around the city. They drove back to the 'Del' (as they
called it) and hung a left. They drove down the one laned 'lane' and stopped
the car. The sky was darkening as dusk painted the sky in deeper hues of pinks,
azures and lilacs. The four walked down the lane until it became a trail. Then
the trail turned into overgrown grasses that led them to a small uninhabited
beach. Awaiting the four was a fire pit already lit, blankets stretched out on
the glistening sand, and four low tables awaited them, each one stocked with
beverages and four courses of food for the couples. Candles and miniature
lights hung from trees and paved the walkway providing light as the sun was
beginning to set. Corey poured the champagne as the others piled their plates
with strawberries dipped in chocolate, squash blossoms filled with riccotta,
basil and golden tomatoes. They toasted to new adventures and love, the least
of which they hoped for was lasting friendship. All four recognized that
friendship was the foundation, but sparks were necessary too to keep the
passion alive. As they noshed they spoke in couples: Jen to Troy and Corey to
penny. corey found out that although Penny had Italian grandparents, she also
had Irish and Norwegian roots. "Ah, that explains the blue eyes,"
Corey remarked with a nod. And Troy surmised that though the Jenarosa currently
lived in the Phoenix area, she spent some time in Seattle. "How could you
know that Troy," Jen spoke with extreme surprise. "Um-that's a
secret. Let's just say that I do my homework," Troy responded
mysteriously. That comment piqued Jen's interest but also gave her one more
thing to look into besides the strange little curio she had found on the golf
course. She had not even told Penny about it but she left it in situ so to
speak. Penny relaxed against Corey's arm as the activity of the day was taking
it's toll. She better watch her champagne consumption tonight she thought or
she may do something rash. A giggle erupted from Penny's lips and Corey looked
at her quizzically expecting an answer. Penny blushed and mumbled something
about the giraffes and bears and such. Corey thought it must be the champagne
talking and in a way it was. The alcohol was lowering Penny's resistance to
Corey's charms even more than it was naturally-dangerously low. "More
food," Jen offered to her twin for she recognized Penny's struggle to keep
her paws off of Corey. She was having a similar problem concerning Troy's
appealing good looks. The whole package she mused: 5'11" of tanned
athleticism, blond & blue eyed, smart, funny, and sweet. She never thought
she had a "type" but apparently she did. And she was staring right at
him...

Penny eagerly took the plate of delicious
delectables from her twin's hand. She looked over the choices and was delighted
to note many Italian morsels among the menu. She had not realized that the
Ocean 1500 Restaurant at Coronado Villas had so many sumptuous Italian dishes
and she ate hungrily. She sampled the white corn soup with chilled crab and
aleppo chili, and the local white sea bass first. She shared her plate with
Corey and practically hand fed him shamelessly. Corey was definitely enjoying
this personal attention and laughed as Penny often missed his mouth, and she
kissed away the drips, laughing as well. Jen helped herself to scallops with
prosciutto and squash, and then used panetta to dip in the sauce. Troy offered
her bites of his angus steak and bleu cheese salad, but he was truly a man in
that beef was his fav and he went back for seconds. The couples exchanged more
bits and snippets of their lives and they learned much about each other as they
munched and sipped at the picnic that surrounded them. Jen and Penny had hopes
of breaking into the music business as they both had beautiful strong voices
and wrote their own music. They had attended ASU in Tempe AZ and majored in
Musical Performance. They worked in their father's restaurant named Papi's,
named in honor of their dad's father. He was also a singer and the three often
performed for the restaurant patrons, often singing acapella. Corey and Troy
ere also interested in the music business since tey had been raised in a very
musical family. They both played guitar since they began in the strings family
by learning the violin at early ages. Both of their parents sang and played
various instruments and they wanted the boys to be musical as well. They
attended SDSU in San Diego and business degrees with additional classes in
musical recording. They hoped to record their own music one day and help others
achieve musical dreams too. The evening flew by and as the energy level wound
down the group of four had their last bites of creme brulee and guava sorbet.
They walked back to the car arm in arm, yawning and kissing under the stars.
With heavy sighs and promises to return to their "special spot," the
couples grudgingly drove the short distance back to the 'Del' and hugged and kissed
good night. Penny's only regret, or so she told her sister as they brushed
their teeth before dropping into their beds, was that she didn't get the chance
to kiss Corey's soft lips one more time for the road. And suddenly she was
snoring.

Hi, Hoh, Silver! Away! Ha! We miss you, but understand. Lubs, S&T

On Saturday, Mehreen and Faith were together at the pool. It felt great lounging under the sun with a lovely cooling breeze blowing in from the ocean. “This is perfect!” Faith
said. “Yes, the sun feels good,” Mehreen agreed. They shared a companionable silence for about ten minutes, soaking up the sun and almost
falling asleep. Then, as Faith, turned over, she asked casually, “Hey, how did it go with Greg last night?” “Oh, it was nice. We went to dinner at a lovely Indian restaurant called Monsoon and then we had a private viewing of an old movie called “Love With a Proper Stranger.” “Oh, I love that movie! I’ve seen it on AMC several times. Steve McQueen is so cute!” Mehreen wasn’t sure what to say to Faith or how to say it, but she ventured forth. “Faith, did you ever notice how Greg looks a bit like Steve McQueen?” Faith thought a moment. “You know, you’re right! I guess I knew his face looked familiar, like someone I knew, but I hadn’t made the connection.” “Well, Greg talked about you several times last night.” “He did?” “Yes, he told me that you used to go to camps across the lake from each other.” ‘He did?” “Yes, and he mentioned that he enjoyed having dinner with you last night.” “He did?” “He sure did. You know, Faith, Greg is a great guy. He’s smart and good looking. He’s a good talker, has a great career, and is a really nice man. He’s a great catch, but I know he’s not the man for me.”

To Be Continued . . .
