I feel kind of iffy about this episode.  I don't like the way they're writing Rick (again).  We're falling back to "Ricktatorship" with a little hot-headed crazy thrown in for frosting.

Surely, they could have come up with some plan to destroy those walkers while they were all confined.  Bolster up the weak spots and have Carter (the engineer) come up with a makeshift flame thrower or produce dynamite.  They found clothes to fit baby Judith - why not gunpowder?

What they've done is to loose a horde upon anyone down the trail.  The walkers should have been destroyed.  Dumb.  Just stupid.

I guess we'll soon be dealing with the wolves.  I'm not looking forward to it.  As I've often said, I get uneasy watching humanity's worst characteristics on television.  Must we have psychos every season?  Shane, the bikers, the governor.

Speaking of psychos .... we have quite a few of our group dangling from the precipice.

I thought Sunday's episode was great. My son said that he thought the opening episode was better than the whole season of FTWD. Lol.

I think they have to make Rick that way because he is the leader and always the one that is supposed to protect everyone. In a world that they live in now that can't be an easy task. It also is a good storyline when others have to calm him down or be the voice of reason. It looks like that is the role that Morgan will be playing.

Not sure why they had the walkers herded to another area instead of killing them where they were, but my son reads the comics and he said it was a big scene in the comics so of course they would put in in the show. If they follow the comics my son said that what happens to Carl during this invasion sets Rick off even more.

What happens to Carl..... Oh, Lord.  Don't tell me some sick stuff by the wolves.  I'm trying to shield my mind from the more depraved aspects of humanity.

Well, that was an exciting episode two!  Loved Carol's Ninja routine.  I'd like to believe that was the end of the wolves.  However, it was implied on TTD that more will come.  Can more than a dozen or so murderous people have found one another amidst the chaos that surrounded the outbreak?  I sincerely hope not.  It would be nice to see these guys encounter the horde after they leave the gate.  Why wasn't the back half at the walls after the horn blared?  Hmmm.  Next week?

Can you figure out what's up with Enid?  She seems such a minor character for them to feature.  I didn't see her exit as a big deal - unless she's coming back.  And when Carol passed Morgan at the end, did it appear he was leaving the community?

My son had predicted that the Wolves don't cause trouble quite yet because he reads the comics and they are relatively quiet at this point according to that. HE WAS WRONG! LOL

So last week Rick and the gang had their hands full with walkers and apparently those that stayed behind in Alexandria had their hands full with the Wolves, Wow...this will be a mess next week when it all comes to a head.

I had a question that came to mind last night. Did I miss something last week? Wasn't Morgan with them during the Zombie parade last week? How did he end up in Alexandria during this as well? Did Morgan leave as soon as the horn went off to check it out? If so he must move pretty fast!

Those Wolves were vicious! They must be people that have completely lost their minds. The way they were going after the bodies even after they killed someone! Wow.

I guess for the the few towns people that survived the attack, I guess Carol's secret is out. She is definitely no sweet little town lady!

We must have been posting at the same time. lol

If the producers go by the comics, my son said that the Wolves appear again to cause trouble later with a neighboring town as well.

I get the feeling that Enid will be around if just for a while. Carl's first girlfriend needs a little bit of a story line. They may kill her off at some point though. I have a hard time believing they will let a young girl go off by herself into this world without an ending to her story.

I doubt Morgan will just walk away. He never got to know the real Carol and I think maybe even he was a bit disillusioned at what Carol was capable of. I am starting to believe that part of Morgan's deal is that he is used to killing walkers in this world....not real live people. That may be an issue for him and that could be why he keeps looking at Rick with such unbelief. Rick will kill live people if he feels the need.

Last night's episode was so disturbing. When they showed what looked like Glen getting ripped to shreds by walkers, I don't know how else to describe it other then almost feeling like you lost a good friend. It's amazing how we feel so connected to people on a television show especially after watching it for so long.

....However, after watching The Talking Dead after it it doesn't seem like this is the end of the story of Glen. There was the note written by the writers/producers saying we will see Glen again "in some form"....very sketchy. And then there was the fact that they didn't show Glen in the video of the people that died in last nights episode.

Then there was an article in the Huffington Post that quoted info that was witnessed by people that make it a point week by week of dissecting the episodes and give eye-witness accounts of things they see on the set of filming that gives clues to things to come...

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/evidence-that-walking-dead-character-isnt-actually-dead_562cf355e4b0ec0a3894be77

A lot of people have been predicting Glenn's death coming up in the not too distant future, especially when the next villain comes into play....but there is some suspicious things about last night.

When I saw those guts being lifted, I said "shit" aloud.  Then, I thought, wait a minute.  He wouldn't still be alive if he were that ripped apart.  It remains to be seen how the walkers get drawn away from him.  I'm not looking forward to this Negan character, again the worst of humanity.

Then, we have the matter of Rick's hand.  Huff Post says, "Cut it off, Rick."  What possible good could that do now?  He ran on and on after he was cut.  His circulation was pumping.  (BTW, thanks for the link!)

For me, they're bouncing between segments of the cast a bit much.  And in the midst of this chaos, they're going to give us Morgan's backstory next week???

Sheesh.

Re: The Walking Dead

That's something that has been weird about how they write this show...In real life we wouldn't be alive if we were having our insides ripped out. In their world they like us to see gore and also experience the terror and excruciating pain as it's happening. Those sick puppies! lol

When you go back and read some of the comments that people make to these articles it's kind of mind boggling what people come up with. Some guy was insistent on the fact that he saw Glenn make a move before the cameras cut off him like he was going to move towards the dumpster. He thought that Glenn was going to roll under the dumpster. He told people to go back and look because he was right. I went back and looked and saw no move that this guy described. Also, don't dumpsters sit flat on the ground pretty much? I don't recall seeing one that there was any room underneath for someone to get under it. People are going nuts with best case scenarios.

IF Glenn happens to escape this somehow, the only explanation I can come up with is Glenn somehow shimmying out from under the dude, killing a walker in the process and spreading the guts and smell on him to walk his way out of the group like what him and Rick did in the first season. It would be tough to do but hey, this is TWD after all.

As to Rick's hand, the first thing I thought was what my son told me about in the comics Rick looses a hand. But I also read yesterday that Robert Kirkman regretted having Rick loose his hand in the comics because it limited Rick in so many ways. So I don't think they'll do it on the show. Maybe that's their way of making the situation look so gloomy for Rick with being trapped in a camper in the middle of a hoard and being limited by his hand.

My thoughts about the dumpster theory are the same as yours.  But...we know they'll find a way.  lol.  On a sadder note, I shudder to think how Maggie will react if something happens to him.

It's one thing to draw a guy with one hand.  Quite another to expect an actor to carry this off for the duration of the show.  Long sleeves in that Georgia heat?  Because of that, I can't see them cutting off Rick's hand.  Even picking up Judith would be a challenge.  As I said earlier, it's too late to stem any infection, given that run.

There seems to be a reason for everything they do on this series, so I'm curious about something.  They showed Daryl leaving Sasha and Abe to go back to help Rick.  Then, with Rick's 'okay' signal, he turns to go back to the car.  Why the useless run?  BTW, did he make it back to lead the car?  In a pre-season preview, they show Daryl bound and sitting against a tree.  I'm wondering if the wolves grab him on his way back.  Hmmm.

You know, my son and I were discussing just that...why the useless run? Daryl has been very boring so far and has been for a while. Not sure what to make of all that. Maybe being tied to a tree will force him into action again.

If memory serves, I think they did show Daryl meeting back up with Sasha and Abraham in leading the herd.

Well, that was an interesting explanation for Morgan's change of approach.  The actor who played Eastman was very effective.  However, Morgan's captive Wolf has been bitten, so what's the point in telling him the story???  Wolfie is a soon-to-be walker who's going to bite anyone who happens into that house.

I kind of wish they'd run this episode right after he arrived instead of in the midst of all the chaos that's going on right now.  It was kind of a "thud" in the midst of excitement.

I think my CC identified Rick as the one who shouted "Open the gate," at the end.

PS:  Did you watch the trailer for Into the Badlands?  Looks like a lot of violence, but I'll give it a try.  Honestly, I shudder when I look at the headlines on AOL News.  Violence and mass killing everywhere.  SMH.  Sometimes, I wonder how long this earth has before we completely destroy it and it's people.

Yes, it did explain a lot where Morgan was concerned, but did they have to bring the week before to a screeching halt, leave you completely hanging to give us  1 1/2 hrs. of Morgan's back story? I hate it when they do that. I know it's their idea of suspense, but it also aggravates the viewers and makes it boring in comparison. Not good.

I wasn't sure whether the Wolf Morgan is holding was bitten or it was just a battle wound. Whatever it was, Morgan not killing him is going to cause something bad to happen. That's for sure.

Have just gotten back up and running a few days ago and have finally caught up with the episodes I missed while I had no TV !! Am hoping that Glen is okay and that it's the other guy the walkers are chewing on and that he gets out from under before the suicide gets completely chewed through. Hoping what your thoughts on this rings true, rkc. Nice to see Morgans backstory by why an hour and a half and why when you have an episode of Glen & Rick hanging in the balance ?

Hey moo2....good to see you here. I was starting to wonder if singly and I were on an island here by ourselves. lol

They have certainly shrouded Glen's story in mystery. Informants have said that Steven Yeun was on the set even after his supposed "death" was filmed. They did that little trick last week where his name mysteriously was missing from the beginning credits....but...the space where his name always was was blank, left open as you will. Hmmm. And then there was the note from the writers/producers that said we will see Glen again in some form....be it alive, a walker, or a body part they aren't saying. I'm hoping he escaped. Not only because I really like him as a part of this show, but also because the character Maggie has already lost so much and this would put her over the edge.

Hello TWD fans, I'm new here and I have been biting at the bit so to speak since last week's episode was all about Morgan and they skipped telling us what is up with Rick and Glen. I was talking to my son about it and he thinks there is a chance that it could be a few more episodes before we get any answers there. That the writers might just keep us hanging for a little while. (I hope not but he could be right) Have any of you heard or read anything to that affect?

And just for the case of full disclosure, I generally don't watch the Talking Dead, so I don't know if anything was said there at all. Your thoughts?

Welcome, Mama.  It appears your son guessed it.  I don't know how many episodes will drag out Glenn's fate.  TTD got a message from Scott Gimple that implied we'll see Glenn again - in "some form," which may mean zombified.

As I sit here trying to remember this episode, I find only three things come to mind.  Deanna stabbing at the wolf zombie, Maggie and Aaron don't go out the tunnel gate, and Rick kisses Jessie.  This week seemed like a lot of segmented filler.  And they didn't show us how Rick got out of the RV!  If Glenn escapes, we could be deprived of that little miracle as well.

For the second time, they've had someone make a useless roundtrip.  First, Daryl going back and forth from the car to the SUV.  Now, it's this tunnel trip.  Usually, on this show, it means something.

Re: The Walking Dead

Post by MamaSquirrel on Mon Nov 09, 2015 3:39 pm

Hello Singlyme, I am trying to recall something else that I thought I saw on the episode before "Here is not here", when Sasha and the only two black guys that were in the pet shop with her got out, I would have sworn at the very end of that show, I saw them walk back into Alexandria to find a bunch of mayhem had taken place. Now fast forward to this week's show "Now" and they aren't there. I would love to see how they cover that too. There were walkers all around the RV and the side door was open. There is no excuse for how Rick got out. Aliens, maybe? To that extreme, that gives me hope for Glenn, especially since Maggie admitted to being pregnant....(note; one of her biggest fears for the future)

Daryl and his round trip, that will explain how he runs out of gas next week and has to push the bike home. (Saw that in the previews, I'm not psychic) I wish I knew what he thought he could do by leaving the car though. These guys have huge egos. I think they need to start following Carol, her ego seldom ever gets in her way.

What is your take on the teen son of Jesse? Last season I didn't know he existed, this season, oops, there he is and he's fired up at Rick for killing his dad (the jerk), but now Rick hands him a gun to shoot? Excuse me? Did it have any bullets in it? I saw him take them out, but then he hands the kid the gun and says, "There's your target" and points at a walker. That I don't get. Any thoughts on how that is going to go, because Jesse already told Rick that she would train her son and for Rick to leave him alone. I don't think I trust that child just yet. Okay, your turn again.

As for the guys in the pet shop, I'm not sure we've seen Michonne since they got back.  Maybe so.  It's so confusing right now.

In the preview you're referencing, the bike was still revving.  Daryl's forehead was bleeding.  To me, it seemed he was so exhausted, he simply fell off.  But a pre-season preview showed him tied up and leaning against a tree.  Perhaps this is when he'll be captured (by wolves?)

I thought Rick was still being skeptical of Ron's intentions and emptied all but one bullet from the gun.  That kid is going to be trouble.

Michonne! My son gets so annoyed with me that I keep forgetting her name. She looks like she should be named Sasha to me. Or maybe Zena (warrior princess?) . Thanks for that correction, it is appreciated.

Was the bike revving? I had already turned the sound down by then so I didn't realize that, it just seemed like he was pushing it. I fully agree that Ron is up to something, but the question is what? If he plays his cards right, life could become very interesting for him, but I have a feeling he doesn't want to be Rick's step son or have Rick's son (???) for a step brother. What do you think they are going to do about the teen girl that wondered off? There is a whole new age of "Carol-itis" in that one or at least the potential is there, if the writers are so inclined. (Enid? Is that her name?) Oy, one of these days I will get all the characters figured out, and that will be right after each one gets killed off.

Enid is a puzzle.  Some believe she was in the wild for longer than a week after her parents were killed - and that she scouted Alexandria for the wolves.  There's definitely something "off" about the girl.

Re: The Walking Dead

Post by rkc1960 on Tue Nov 10, 2015 5:22 pm

Hey Mama. Good to see yet another person over here. I love to get different viewpoints.

I'm pretty sure I heard that we don't hear anything about Glenn until the 22nd or 29th. I know it's somewhere near the mid-season finale.

I'm hoping Maggie being pregnant isn't actually a bad sign. When Scott Gimple left that message that we will see Glenn again in some form he mentioned "or a part of him" which could mean the baby. In the comics he doesn't die yet so I'm hoping that at least they stick to the comics this time.

I'm hoping they revisit how Rick got out of that horde because I'm starting to feel ripped off with how this has gone the last couple of weeks. As to how Rick could have escaped, I'm assuming he got out before it got too bad and took off running as fast as he could. When you see him yelling "open the gate" you see him hauling ass and the walkers right on his tail.

As to Michone, I might be wrong but I could have swore I saw Michone in the background this week but she didn't have a speaking part. I'll have to go back and look because it could be just radiation brain happening again. lol

As to Ron, Jessie's son, he actually was on last season when they got to Alexandria. I think he was the one who introduced Carl to Enid and the other kid that was there. I think he is going to be trouble because he is already mad at Rick for killing his dad and he is mad at Carl because he apparently thought Enid was his girlfriend. In the beginning of the show it shows Ron glaring at Carl from a distance and they showed a closeup of Ron fingering his knife he had on him when looking at Carl. Then you had the shoving match. Then at the end he looks to change his mind about how Rick handled things and said he wanted to learn to shoot. I'm wondering if that little story line will be how something happens to Carl that was written into the comics if they end up writing it into the script at all.

Not sure what to think of Enid. I would like to think that she isn't associated with the wolves at all. I do know that the wolf that Morgan let live is going to be bad news for someone.
