Chris and the 11 remaining women begin their journey around the country to find love in picturesque Santa Fe, New Mexico. Carly is the lucky woman to get the first one-on-one date, but the couple has to survive a very awkward, intimate meeting with the “Love Guru.” Kelsey, already the focus of the other women’s animosity, stirs up more trouble when some of the women don’t believe her to be the sympathetic character she seems to be. A group date with nine gorgeous bachelorettes challenges them to ride the white water rapids of the Rio Grande River, but one woman falls overboard with perilous results. A stunned Chris is confronted by a rejected lady from his past who won’t take “no” for an answer. The Bachelor swoops in and takes Britt on a fabulously romantic hot air balloon ride, but is there something she is hiding from Chris to curry favor? Finally, Kelsey’s bid for attention goes awry, on “The Bachelor,” MONDAY, FEBRUARY 2 (8:00-10:01 p.m., ET), on the ABC Television Network.
    
Chris and Carly meet the “Love Guru,” who puts them through a series of sexual exercises which leave them practically naked, putting their connection on a fast track. Will the sexual tension lead to an intimate connection or will the couple get cold feet?

Kelsey, who shares the story of her late husband’s death with the other bachelorettes, is considered the “Black Widow” and disingenuous in the way she is presenting herself. She vows, however, to do whatever it takes to win Chris’ heart.

Nine adventurous women accompany Chris on a white water rafting trip to the Rio Grande River for one of the wildest rides of their lives. The outdoor adventure quickly turns dangerous when one bachelorette falls overboard into the icy rushing water. Will Chris be able to help rescue her? After the mishap, the group relaxes at a local hotel and gets ready to spend a special night with the Bachelor. However, a woman that Chris previously said goodbye to returns to crash the party and attempts to get another chance to win Chris’ heart. Will the Bachelor comply with her wishes and risk the wrath of the rest of the women? 

The next day, Chris sneaks into Britt’s hotel room in the early morning hours and whisks her away on one of the most romantic dates of the season: a hot air balloon ride as the sun rises. Part two of the couple’s passionate date might put this woman’s way ahead of the group. Too bad the other bachelorettes don’t think she is being truthful about her intentions. 

Britt’s revelatory play-by-play of her date with Chris pushes Kelsey to make a secret visit to him that she hopes will insure her getting a rose. Will her heartbreaking personal story be seen as a desperate move for attention or will she gain Chris’ sympathy?

The already stressful cocktail party is thrown into disarray when a stunning twist brings it to a screeching halt.

One of the worst episodes ever.....and then no rose ceremony.  TPTB must be well aware how much this show is declining and pulling out their bag of tricks so we'll keep watching.  I'm not sure they are going to succeed.    The "sex guru" was really out of line for Carly; it is to her credit that she went along with it and did not go running away.  JMHO.

I agree with you newto...watched the whole darn thing and no rose ceremony to boot. I also agree that the sex guru on the first date was out of line....period. Who in the world came up with that and thought it would be even remotely appropriate especially for a 1st date? The only good thing about it is that you finally got to see a different side to Carly other than the one where she always had to be joking. You kind of want to see a serious side to these people so you get a better sense of who they are...or should I say who they or ABC want you to think they are. I didn't realize until today that Carly is Zak's sister...from Des' season. Interesting.

As to the group date, white water rafting seems okay for a bunch of adventurous men but not so much for a bunch of skittish, screaming women. Don't have a whole lot to say about it but since Jade apparently has a real medical issue with hypothermia I thought it was very insensitive for Mackenzie and Kelsey to act like they should have did the same thing for attention. Seriously? Grow the hell up.

As to the second part of the group date where Jordan shows back up...(sigh)...how many more times is this same thing going to get overused? And twice in the same season? They really are running out of material. Just because these people show back up doesn't mean the lead has to let them back in. So Ashley's anger at Jordan and feeling she should be mean to her is a bit misplaced. Chris is the one she should be shooting eye daggers at. It just shows her maturity level. Whitney doesn't like it either as I'm sure many of the girls don't, but to act mean to Jordan is a childish maneuver. And then she gets all upset that Whitney gets the group date rose and not her saying Whitney didn't deserve it....and she did? And what was up with Ashley's dress? If she had to even slightly bend over you would have seen all the goods. Still don't buy that virgin story. She has got to GO!!!!!!


Britt, Britt, Britt....the girl that goes to bed with a full face of makeup and Chris makes a comment about how beautiful she is when she wakes up. LOL. Men can be such idiots. She is looking more and more like an artificial person. Not just the makeup part but the part where she apparently told one of the girls that she loves being single and is in no hurry to have kids either...but yet she tells Chris just the opposite on their date. We already know she is an actress so I'm just assuming that she went on this show to hopefully be discovered. And I'm really curious as to what the no showering thing is about. She looks clean so until someone tells the story behind it I don't know what to think about that. If she really isn't showering often then that is just nasty.

Kelsey certainly came out this week to look a little like a psychopath. Was anyone else creeped out by the way she was talking in her PI? When she said, "Isn't my story amazing? It's tragic, but amazing. I love my story." That was weird. I thought for a minute there that she had made up the whole story. Then I read this morning that it is indeed a true story. It didn't surprise me when people were commenting that maybe they ought to exhume the body and make sure she didn't kill him. lol. Freaky! Does anyone else think that the whole falling down thing at the end was just a ploy...or would it be better to ask if anyone actually believed it? Someone interviewed CH about it and he said that when they heard she was in the bathroom her microphone was off. Then she came stumbling out and her microphone was back on. He said he's interested to see what people think after they see the full spectrum of the whole panic attack and the recovery next week....hmmm...sounds reminiscent of Tiara from Sean's season and her "hypothermia" scare and how magically she recovered.  

CH also went on to say that next weeks two on one date will be the most confrontational one they've ever had. Yes, I know they say things like that a lot, but from the previews it looks like that may be what the whole Ashley thing was about. I hope to God that it means Ashley is finally going home next week.

Ashley has been likened to a "panther in heat."  I can see it.  I, too, noticed that dress - and how much more "deserving" she is than everyone else - in HER eyes, anyway.

I saw a post that wondered whether Kelsey was talking about HER story being amazing, or if she was mocking others who thought they had an amazing story.  With this show, one never knows.  But she turned me off big-time.  What others have gleaned from the Internet is that she met her husband when she was 19, he 35.  Also, that his obituary was more about HER than him - how her goal and his supportive commitment were achieved when she got her Masters Degree.  He died of congestive heart failure?  I'm suddenly getting a picture of a heavy, older dude who had the money to finance her education.  I know.  I know.  Imagination running wild here.

This season is all about tragic stories (whether real or devised) and nut jobs.

I enjoyed reading everyone's opinions of last night's show. Thanks for writing! After watching, I have to say that Carly moved to my favorite woman spot. I don't blame her for being hurt that Chris was smooching it up with Britt while still in the room with the other girls. Didn't Sean Lowe give Chris advice NOT to kiss any of the women when the other women could see? I think it was insensitive for him to kiss Britt in front of Carly & whoever else was in the room at that time. 

SLA, it would make sense that Sam & Kenzie go home but I wish it were Ashley. That girl is a diva & a mean girl, to boot.

You know, the big questions are "Where is Chris in all this mess?" and "Who is Chris?"  JP aside, he has to be the most boring bach.  Well, there was Ben...

We know Chris is a farmer but the only thing he's told us about himself is when he spoke to Jordan and said he likes his drinks.  Other than that, his personal philosophy is a blank.  Are TPTB so concerned with the sensational that they don't give us any meat?

One thing they've shown us is that Chris has a strong relationship with his family. I wonder if they're all drinkers? I don't mean having a glass of wine with dinner or a few beers at a BBQ, but having alcohol at every outing, meal, etc?

We DO know they like to play hide-and-seek.  lol.

Actually, playing hide-and-seek while inebriated might actually be fun. Until you have to spend 2 nights, lost in the corn field with only the scare crow to talk to.

I don't know what Kelsey's deal is but either way she is looking mighty weird. Even if she WAS mocking other girls stories that makes her really petty in the least. You have another girl that was married and had just had a child by him when he committed suicide. I would like to know why she would think her story is more amazing than that? She is just coming off like she really doesn't care all that much. It's like someone pointed out, she talked about what happened in a very aloof manner with the other girls but when she talked to Chris about it she threw some tears in for good measure. That makes me really question her. What alarms me is that she is a Guidance Counselor. She acts like she could use some counseling herself before they let her anywhere near kids!

SLA, as to what you mentioned, yes I too believe this has to be one of the cattiest groups of girls I have seen to date. I'm assuming that is yet another of TPTB's ploys for ratings. Also, it won't surprise me if it's Samantha and Mackenzie that go home. I'm surprised that Samantha has made it this far because you haven't seen anything between her and Chris at all! As to Mackenzie, I'm surprised she is still there as well. She seems too immature to still be in the running with someone Chris' age. Not that I think older men can't be with younger women, it's just that she herself seems a bit odd. She can take her comments about aliens and slink off into the sunset with a younger guy that is more in tune with talking about such things. I was also hoping Ashley would bite the dust this time but something tells me from the previews that she is one of the girls on the two on one date and she gets angry that Chris told the other girl what she had said about her. Looks like it's not so nice of a confrontation and hopefully he will finally get that she is weird and send her packing. We can hope can't we?

Chris isn't too good at keeping his mouth shut, is he?  First, he rats out Kelsey's "secret" visit, and will blab what Ashley tells him.  lol.

Plus, he was raised with sisters!  lol.

Chris has been pretty boring.  He has VERY little to say on camera.  If not for the weird girls, the show would be a snooze.  I guess I like to get behind the lead and see if he picks the one I like for him.  With Chris, all I know is he's a farmer who likes to drink and doesn't talk much, except to gossip(?).

Of course, they've shown he likes the outdoors, but I find the dates somewhat juvenile.  Haven't played Red Rover since I was kid.  I liked the rafting and the camping would've been great for couples or a 1-1.

I guess it's disappointing to me because I wasn't a Chris fan to begin with.  I was hoping he'd give me something to root for, but he's unresponsive - and so am I. 

I'm beginning to wonder if Chris is partaking a bit too much of the drink, not that he's drunk, per se, but that he is a bit drowsy by the time he has the non conversations with the ladies. I wouldn't think that he or his dates would be drinking at the crack of dawn, as in the hot air balloon ride date with Britt but come to think of it, there wasn't that much in the way of talking going on at that time, was there? Could it be that the balloon ride was too noisy to chat during or that they were just taking in all the gorgeous views? I don't know, I would have been chatting the poor guy's legs off, probably from nerves. I like Chris, but in the venue, he isn't engaging or dynamic, is he? Nice to look at & a super nice guy, I think but a little dull, imo.

BHG -- I was thinking the same thing about the alcohol.  I don't like to point fingers, but Chris seems to like his booze just a little too much.  For some people, it makes them talk too much, but here we seem to have the opposite situation.

Singly -- I too am terribly disappointed by this season.  Just don't know how much worse it can get.

Apparently, Santa Fe officials are happy.  They think they got 2 million dollars worth of publicity from last Monday's show.
