Vic, I'm surprised he didn't give you something to take the sting and burn out of it. I know this is rough. Just know it won't be for too long - and you'll be out from under the cancer cloud. Right now, your body is saying, "WTH?"

I remember that previous sunburn (as a child) can cause skin cancer. Perhaps your sun poisoning had a role in this. Several years ago, my dermatologist was ready to pooh-pooh a concern I had about a black speck on my cheek. I convinced her to biopsy, and it was pre-cancerous.

All of us should get checked regularly, especially those places we don't see. Shoulders, neck. In our day, we spent a lot more time outdoors in the sun.
