Re: Season 9
Yes it was very good and I think that Blake wants James so bad that he is drooling at the bit (to keep with the country theme). I'm still hoping that Blake will end up with him.WidderWoman4 wrote:I'm not sure I've ever seen battle rounds this evenly matched. Usually I watch and say, "Oh, So-and-So obviously won it." I couldn't say that on the October 12 show. They were beautifully paired, and absolutely outstanding.
"Fortunate Son" knocked my socks off.

I hope it's true Blake's not dating, yet. I know men think they need to get right out there, but there really needs to be a time to get oneself back together. The first person on the scene after a crash is the comforter. The comforter doesn't last.

I think that Blake really looks good - he's lost weight and he just looks more at peace with himself.

Good observations, SLA. Let's see how he comports himself over the next couple of months.

Hahaha! Oh, me. I am old.
Who says "comports himself" other than some 72-year-old widder woman living with a small dog?
You go, Blake. Who am I to judge?

*raising my hand* on "comports himself." lol.
I watched. Absolutely loved seeing Fogerty. While I like all the judges, I'm afraid Adam is the only one who uses music I actually like. Really enjoyed the opening duo. They were both amazing. And I liked "Fortunate Son."

HAHA, I think we know how Blake "comforts" himself, but then again, that could all be for show.WidderWoman4 wrote:Hahaha! Oh, me. I am old.

It had to be a very grueling lifestyle for Blake & Miranda with him spending many months in LA and her in Oklahoma. I wonder how much time they actually spent in Oklahoma and Nashville.SLA44 wrote:I think that Blake really looks good - he's lost weight and he just looks more at peace with himself.
Nevertheless, I agree with you SLA that Blake looks at peace with himself.
I wish both Blake and Miranda well.

Re: Season 9
The last battle of the night was The One for this viewer. Barrett and Dustin both just killing it on Walking in Memphis. Thank goodness Dustin didn't leave, that would have been just wrong. I would have had him as the winner of that battle but that's just me as Barrett is also superb.
And Jordan Smith(?) is purely wonderful. Man, that voice. He should be around for a good long time.

Re: Season 9
I think Blake was probably kicking himself for pairing these two against one another - he didn't seem to want to loose either one. He probably knew that which ever one he didn't take would be stolen. Maybe he is hoping he will be able to steal Dustin back like he did in season 7 with Craig Wayne Boyd. Who knows?Lesallee wrote:The last battle of the night was The One for this viewer. I think there are a lot of very good singers and this season should be a very good one for us viewers.

Re: Season 9
OMGosh, the Battle Rounds tonight were super great with the contestants being so evenly matched. I'm thinking this has to be one of the most exciting seasons yet.
Will wait and talk about it once everyone has seen the show.

Later, ladies.SLA44 wrote:Well from the sneak previews for the knockoff rounds it looks like they have your favorite Krista Hughes against my favorite Chris Crump. Now I think I am sorry that Chris went with Blake and it looks like he has Chris doing a country song and I don't think he is country. I didn't recognize the song and they didn't show that much of them.BSkeptical wrote:My faves so far are James Dupre, Krista Hughes, and Summer Schappell. Yep, I'm a country music fan and I like these three.
James Dupre is against Dustin Monk and I don't believe they are doing a country song I didn't catch the name of the song but it's one John Fogerty wrote during the Viet Nam era he said. They did not show them rehearsing on the stage.
They did not have a sneak preview up of Gwen's team so maybe her's will be on tomorrow night.
The ones they showed of Pharrell were Celeste Betton and Mark Hood and it looked like they were doing a very good and entertaining job with "Ain't No Mountain High Enough".
It was a terrible song for Krista and Chris nailed it. He sounded better than Brad on the song.

Re: Season 9
Well it was an interesting night with the knockout battles. I guess what was a surprise to me was that a couple of the ones that had a four chair turn were not stolen. I did think that the coaches made good choices in the ones they kept. I really liked the guy from Ireland - I didn't really remember him that well from the blind auditions but that guy can sing and he has a good voice. I was very happy that my favorite Chris Crump advanced - I love his voice and could listen to it for a long time. Next week should be interesting as well - there are a lot of very talented singers on this season.

Young and tiny Siahna Im with the huge voice impressed me again last night. I believe she will benefit mightily from the coaching and will be in a long time.

Just started watching The Voice and because I love Old Time Rock n Roll I loved Blind Joe and Blaine Mitchell. They killed it. So glad Adam snapped Blaine up.

I haven't seen the show yet - just bits and pieces but I did see the battle between Blind Joe and Blaine Mitchell singing Old Time Rock n Roll and it would have been a shame if Blaine hadn't been stolen. I thought they both did a remarkable job with that song.

Re: Season 9
I thought it was funny how Blake mentioned in his critique about Blind Joe talking through Blaine's parts. I'm sure he was joking. To me that is the mark of someone that has been in the business of entertaining people for a while. They are really getting into the performance and are trying to get the audience into it as well. He is definitely one heck of a performer.
I don't like to see great singers go home because the coaches have to choose one or the other and other coaches only have a couple of steals. It want to get past this part and get to the heart of the show.

Blaine and Blind Joe could take their act on the road! They just meshed so well and made that number their own.

I am enthralled with the talent of Jordan Smith. My, my, that boy can sing. And Viktor is no slouch, so glad Gwen stole him. It was so nice to see how happy Jordan was when Viktor got snapped up.

Re: Season 9
When I heard Rihanna would be on the show to assist I was dubious as to just what she could contribute. But darn, the girl took her duties seriously and gave very good and effective advice to the singers. Was it Adam that told her she is a good coach? That pleased her so much.

Re: Season 9
Yes it was Adam that told her that and she was pleased but she did give the contestants very good advice and encouragement IMO. I think I may have to miss DWTS Monday night and watch the Voice instead because two of my favorite contestants have not done the knock out round yet and I don't want to miss the. Besides I have really had enough of the judging on DWTS.

Interesting, BSkep. Some good ones on there but some I will miss if this plays out this way. This is a super competitive season, it's difficult to predict for sure.

Re: Season 9
Well if that is true I will be most disappointed - it means that neither one of my favorites made it through the knockout rounds. That is a real pity but I figure that Jordan is going to be very difficult to beat - he has had over 13 million watches on his blind audition video on youtube.
