BACHELOR IN PARADISE: RECAP FOR AUGUST 26, 2014

RECAP FOR AUGUST 26, 2014
Hello, and welcome to night two of the Bachelor In Paradise double feature on ABC. When we last left our contestants, Graham bolted from the rose ceremony when AshLee said his name.
When we arrive, Michelle and a medic are taking care of him. He is feeling sick, but decides to go on with the rose ceremony. Michelle hopes he doesn't take the rose from AshLee.
Now Lacy is sick and bolts from the rose ceremony. Marcus offers to go with her to the hospital, so they leave in an ambulance. She already gave him a rose, so he is safe.
Michelle gives Cody a rose.
Jackie gives Jesse the rose.
Marquel and Kalon are sent home.
It turns out Lacy's intestines are enflamed. Marcus is by her side, taking care of her and doing everything to make her feel better, minus singing Soft Kitty. He totally should have because it would have been epic.
Clare says she and Zack are unbreakable. Oh, honey, get a CLUE. Do I need to get Steve and Blue on the case to show you he is just not all that into you? Even a fake psychic detective can sense this!
Christy from Juan Pablo's season is now on the island with a date card. She chooses Zack, which pisses Clare off. However, Zack says no and decides to stick with Clare.
Christy chooses Jesse, who accepts. They wander the city and go exploring. They enjoy a drink, talk about exes and play with a random dog.
Jackie is worried about the date. Basically, it is a lot of insecurity because she wonders if Jesse and Christy are going to hit if off.
Sarah gets a date card and goes out with Robert. It is first kiss night and she hopes they make out all night long.
Okay, this date is so awkward. Take the Jamie/Ben make out by numbers date and multiply it by a thousand. She finally gets the make out session she wants, but it is still painful to watch.
Michelle and Cody are hanging out and seem to really hit it off. He is falling 'way, way fast.' She is freaking out because this happened overnight.
Jackie notices Jesse is acting different. She is like, we used to be bed, er, best buddies, and now we're not! I want to know why!
Zack tries to have a talk with Clare about where their relationship is going. She doesn't like how they want different things, so she runs off to the jungle to find her raccoon friend…..who is actually THERE….along with some other animals.
So what did the fox say? He told her to go home. She decides to leave the show and paradise forever. Zack tries to talk her out of it, but she says she is leaving….and that she has to blow her nose. OMG in heaven….
She is leaving with a broken heart, a stuffy nose and puffy eyes. Just take NyQuil and have the best sleep you ever had with a broken heart.
Lucy from Juan Pablo's season arrives. She is the free spirit hippie chick. One of the guys say that she probably isn't wearing underwear.
She gives a date card to Jesse. They hang out and enjoy the sights. Or something. It is boring and I don't care.
Michelle and Cody have a date as well. They take pictures that look like those engagement pictures that are overly posed and fake. I refuse to do these pictures for my engagement.
Michelle realizes there is a wedding dress there for her to put on for more pictures. She freaks out, but does the photo shoot anyway.
Graham and AshLee have a date involving cars. I don't care.
Christy is mad nobody is drinking and that there are not many options in terms of single, cute guys.
Marcus tells Lacy he loves her. She says he is an angel.
There is a lot of making out and canoodling going on…I can't keep up and I don't care. This seems to be the longest….episode….ever.
Christy is crying over the fact that Jesse might like Lucy better than her. However, they have a talk and all is right with the world.
Lucy, Christy and Jesse appear to have a threesome.
Jackie goes after Zack because she is over Jesse. He is so yesterday and a sleazeball.
Lacy agrees that he is a manwhore.
Everyone tries to state their cases as to why they should get a rose.
Rose ceremony. Finally. This episode took forever!
Robert gives a rose to Sarah.
Graham gives a rose to AshLee.
Cody gives a rose to Michelle.
Marcus gives a rose to Lacy….who seals the deal with a kiss.
Zack gives a rose to Jackie.
Jesse gives a rose to Christy.
Lucy is sent home and makes some snarky comments about Christy.

Re: Episode 5 Discussions
I was kind of sad to see Clare go out last night. But it was probably for the best. Zack just wasn't feeling it like she was, and she was tired of playing the game.
A panic attack from Graham? What did the producers promise him to make him go back inside? LOL. I'm curious that we didn't get to see him question Ashlee about the buzz and what she said about Clare.
Cody comes on so strong, he reminds me of an overly affectionate puppy. Love me, love me, love me.
And Jesse. OMG. Get rid of this pig. The show was doing fine until they brought him, then pig-ette Lucy onboard. Glad she had only one episode. As for him: Someone should weld him into a steel "cup" to protect all from his loins. He certainly has his lines downpat.
And I'm sorry, but I hope Sarah isn't stupid enough to desert Robert for a date with her "crush."

For Jesse: the internet is full of offers for male chastity devices. Someone should order one for him. LOL. He is the same old sleaze he's always been.

It boggles my mind that Graham gave AshLee a rose.

Re: Episode 5 Discussions
I wanted to wait until watching both episodes before I commented. Where to begin....
I know this franchise is all about the drama and ratings but why waste everyone's time bringing in the likes of Chris B., Kaylon, and Lucy?
Well, Chris B. is gone so let's start with Kaylon. As much as I don't like this dude the whole time he was there was actually quite comical between the comments made about him by the others in the house and the romance he has with himself. By the time he ended his one on none date by making out with himself, my BF that doesn't particularly like these shows was even laughing. I just wished they had edited out his disgusting comment about how he had never went down a giant Mexican hole but he has went down a small Mexican hole. Really? Was that necessary?
Cody made it crystal clear when he showed up that it was all about Clare and she was the reason he was there. Zach's lukewarm response to this was clearly a bright red flag that Clare should have heeded. When Clare asked Zach how he would react if a girl showed up and she asked him for a date and he responded with, "depends on who the girl is" I would have made a bee-line for Cody and left Zach in the dust, or sand in this case. I get aggravated by these girls stupidity. Did she really think that all of the sudden Zach had this sudden epiphany curiously before the rose ceremony that he wanted to be all about her and the rest of the time there that they should be exclusive? Then after he gets his rose and new girls come on the scene it all changes again and he's now not sure about them? Ok, I get it...Clare did come on strong and not too many guys like to jump right into a overwhelming relationship in just a few days, but he should have been honest with her BEFORE the rose ceremony and let the chips fall where they may...MAN UP, DUDE. All this not caring if you hurt someone all so you can get a rose to stay longer is just wrong. I'm glad Clare didn't even buy into his garbage before she made her exit.
Now, on to my favorite part...the blowup between Clare and AshLee. I know that some of this franchise's game is scripting and editing but from what I saw it seems as if that conversation AshLee had with Zach and not realizing there was a camera there was on the level. That girl is a real piece of work. After all, Clare gave up the date with Graham in the beginning because AshLee liked him and threw a hissy fit. So AshLee thought it was ok of her to repay Clare by throwing her under the bus. That "apology" on the beach was so appalling. The only reason she even attempted it was because she wanted to calm things down before Graham found out what she did. When she said something to the effect of her forgiving Clare I think Clare showed a lot of restraint in not bitch slapping her on the spot.
Now, that first rose ceremony was ridiculous. Graham walking out, sweating, feeling sick, wondering who this person is that he started a "relationship" with...but what does he do? Goes back in and not only accepts the rose but does it with a SMILE! What did I just see? Really? I can only think that the hammer will come down soon because Graham seems like a sensible guy...clearly he can't be this dumb. I'm hoping he just accepted it to stay and he will dump her slimy ass soon.
And speaking of the rose ceremony, After Graham accepted the rose and the camera went onto Lacy you could tell that girl was not well. Her eyes were so dark and I didn't think it had everything to do with her not liking what just happened. I think part of the "dropping like flies" was about the craziness of the rose ceremony but probably mostly to do with where they were....after all, THEY ARE IN MEXICO! The home of Montezuma's revenge! On a side note...someone needed to tell girlfriend that the whole time they showed her back she had a big old sales tag sticking out! So much for returning the dress saying you never wore it.
I know that the reports are that Michelle and Cody are still together but did anyone else find it odd how quickly Cody switched to Michelle after he couldn't get Clare? Not that he switched so to say because Clare made it clear she was into Zach but that it went from 0 to 100 in about 2 seconds? If I was Michelle I would have been concerned as well.
I was not surprised that Marquel went home. I really don't think he was into any of those girls. Michelle chose him for a date when she got there so there was his rose for that week. I think he was flattered that Danielle arrived and asked him to go on her date but he seemed sort of taken aback when she told him she had a crush on him. Then Jackie shows up and asks him out (I think mainly because he didn't look taken) and I think it stroked his ego that he had three girls at one time vying for his rose. I realize there is a lot of filming that we don't see but every time you'd see couples paired up you never seemed to see him sitting next to any of these girls. It just seemed like he was there for the free vacation and air time.
On to my vote for the next slime ball....Jesse. He is new to the scene but he is already making my skin crawl. I don't care how attractive a guy is, if he acts like that, to me it makes him very unattractive. Now I refer back to what I said earlier about being aggravated by these girls stupidity. I understand that they weren't privy to Jesse's PI's that we are watching but you really don't need to see them to know he's a total player. First of all his reputation as a player has already been established before he ever showed up. That ought to keep a girl on her toes right out of the gate. Then all you have to do it really listen to what he says, watch his facial expressions, watch his body language, watch how he looks at the other women in the house....if you can't read him after all that then you need to go take a course in HOW to read men. I can't believe that Jackie and Christie (is that her name?) are both saying that they think he is genuine and sincere. At this point I am wanting to stick hot pokers in my eyes. These ditzy girls are giving all women a bad rap for being clueless. Then who shows up but Lucy, one of the biggest jokes ever. That walking around completely naked is ok for being at home or at a nudist colony but to do it in front of other people that are basically strangers is just plain rude. She is an oxymoron (besides just being a regular moron) in that she runs around naked and says she is open with her sexuality but in her PI's just talking about kissing or making out with Jesse she acts all shy and bashful. SMH. The only thing that she has ever said that is honest is when she admitted she went there to have fun. Let's face it, many of them feel the same way but think they need to throw the L word around in keeping with the spirit of things.
All in all a total trainwreck. All I've got to say is there better a reunion at the end of this. I am watching all of this to get a treat at the end and that would be to get them all together after the fact and let them duke it out.

Re: Episode 5 Discussions
AshLee is the perfect age progression for the queen of the high school mean girls' club. There's something VERY fishy about Graham hanging in. They keep this couple in the background and bring AshLee forward when they want some evil doings. Most of what we see of Graham is commentary on others. It annoys me that we didn't see him question her about the Clare gossip. Have we seen them share a kiss beyond that first one she roped?
We also never saw any feedback from Zack about Clare's leaving - just the glum expression as he closed the door of the limo behind her. Once she left, I thought he'd pursue Christy, but he seemed to fall off the Paradise map.
Lucy should be confined in a nudist asylum.
I agree that these women seem particularly naive. BUT, you know how it is. Women often believe they are the only ones who can change a man.
What really offends is that this show was promoted as singles seeking love. So why bring on the likes of Chris B., Kalon, Lucy and Jesse? All four are players who wouldn't know love if it beat them over the head. The franchise's annual bamboozle.

Re: Episode 5 Discussions
Singly, I too believe there is something very fishy about the whole Graham/AshLee thing. He really seems like a laid back, smart dude. There is just no way that he is falling for AshLee's nonsense. Is it just that he signed up for this for the hell of it and just doesn't care? That AshLee, the succubus has glued herself to him and he is just sitting back and excepting her rose for a longer vacation? The fact that on their date he insisted he wanted a separate room says a lot. And also, usually you have things happen on these crazy shows that make you gasp and then there is a news article that appears around that time that kind of debunks what you thought you saw....however in this case you have the article that came out a few days ago that Graham is questioning how can someone like AshLee that is beautiful on the outside be so ugly on the inside? You have different people speaking of her in their PI's saying things such as she is all about the camera's, she is one way in front of the camera's and another way when she's not being filmed, she is all about herself, etc. WOW! I can only hope now that AshLee is ashamed and embarrassed enough to take a good long look at herself and make some changes. I can't believe that she is going to be welcomed by many at Bach events in the future. No one seems to really like her.
These girls are basically pretty young and need a lot more experience in the dating world to realize YOU CAN'T CHANGE A MAN. If you go into a relationship thinking you can then you are very naive. You can read a man but it takes practice...I've had much practice and I would volunteer to teach them so they don't look so clueless
The problem with the producers is that they don't seem to understand or even care that people are offended by them describing this show as a second chance to find love. That's the only reason you hear the term love being thrown around when basically most of these contestants showed up for hanky panky. So they didn't bring back Bachelor Pad but instead decide this was a better alternative? At least with BP there were competitions and money to win at the end along with the hookups. This show is just blatant hookups with nothing to gain but to stay longer to hookup with more people. I just hope people are not allowing their kids to watch this.

Is Graham just finding out how AshLee is? What was with him walking out of the RC and sweating profusely just to walk back in and accept the rose? Then they carried on like nothing had happened and he gives her his rose at the next RC.

Re: Episode 5 Discussions
I agree, rkc. AshLee is one hateful woman. I was watching her face and mannerisms when (I think it was) Danielle talking to her. Her side of the conversational barely acknowledged that the girl was sitting there. She's completely above the fray - in her own mind.
I truly believe Graham is being paid to babysit her "demon journey" through Paradise. I even think she might have become aware of it at some point. If she's still pushing, they're not showing it. He's nipped her in the bud a couple of times. As you mentioned previously, nixing the overnight. And he also told her it was "too soon to be talking about forever." She's a shrewd woman. Even someone as obsessive as she can read the signs.
When she tried to throw Clare a curve, she reminded me of the evil queen, trying to have the huntsman bring back Snow White's heart in a box. lol.

Re: Episode 5 Discussions
SLA, I would assume that AshLee's reputation as a real bitch is well known around the Bach Nation same as Chris B. and Jesse are well known as womanizing asses, Kaylon is known as an ass that is in need of a filter, and Lucy is a naked weirdo. I'm sure there is much gossip that goes around that crowd. I think the whole thing between Graham and AshLee is still a mystery to some of us and why he went back in to the rose ceremony and excepted the rose with a smile. As Singly pointed out there may be some deal going on. But what doesn't make sense to me is if that is the case then why did Graham choose Clare for his first date instead of AshLee? Unless they wanted to keep AshLee around for the drama that she is sure to cause and approached him after that to stick with her for a while. There has to be some explanation for him feeling physically ill about it and then back peddling. All I know is that her bad attitude and feelings of superiority are becoming well known, not only in the Bach Nation where they all like to play around but also to people around the world via television. If she had men run from her in the past it can only be made worse by her antics being played out before everyone once again. What guy would want a woman like that? No one wants someone that would make their life a living hell.

Re: Episode 5 Discussions
I posted this somewhere before. Graham is now the "senior person" in BachNation. I think he was sent to BIP to keep "order". He has no more real interest in AshLee than I have in dating King Kong. When push comes to shove, at the end, I think he will dump her, knowing all along what she is like. JMHO.

Re: Episode 5 Discussions
You know, I don't follow or care about these people once they leave the show, nor do I care about what my favorite movie stars do in their private lives. Once a performance is over, my interest is over, too.
HOWEVER, there are a couple of cases I'm curious about. Michelle and Graham. They so obviously care deeply for one another and if I heard correctly, Michelle wishes they were still together. When I see them together, I find myself ultra-curious about what happened. I keep coming back to Marquel telling her she drinks too much. Could this have been an unresolvable issue? Is the drinking reserved for these blow-off-the-cobwebs shows or does she imbibe in real life? She has a business and a child she's responsible for. None of my business, but I confess to wondering.
Second, I've always been aware of human nature, and I'd love to see a nutshell fast-fwd view of AshLee's life - stopping at critical junctures -just to explain how she got from there to here and the forces that shaped her into the woman she now is. There's more than being abandoned and adopted, I believe. How does someone get to this point? So beautiful and so ugly. This girl desperately needs therapy.

Re: Episode 5 Discussions
I am there with you, Singly...I don't follow these people or other celebrities either. If I come upon a article about them I will sometimes read it but I think it's kind of stalkerish to follow them around on the computer and think they are an important part of your existence. LOL
About Michelle and Graham, what I had read was that they still really do care about each other and if they lived closer they would maybe still be together. Michelle stated that it isn't possible to pick up and move her daughter to where Graham is and it isn't feasible for Graham to move where she is either so they decided to remain very close friends which is very apparent.
AshLee is definitely an enigma. Just this morning I read an article about AshLee and Graham on BIP and without realizing it the article turned into a spoiler about what happens between them on this show and when it happens. Damn! I hate spoilers and there was no warning about what the article was going to reveal. Damn RS! I would be curious too to see exactly what made AshLee into the crazy woman she is now. You would think that she would be grateful that she was adopted instead of being left in an orphanage and it would make her a happy person that is kind to others. She definitely used it as a sob story during Sean's season. I'm wondering if her story may be the same story as a kid my son went to school with. This kid was adopted at a young age and his adoptive parents went over and above to make sure he felt loved. In doing so they overly spoiled him with everything he wanted and when he didn't get what he wanted they would allow him to act out and they didn't punish him...ever. The kid started acting like he was better than the other kids and that prompted him to become a bully and act out and fight kids he thought were weak. I'm thinking that she shows a lot of the same traits.

Re: Episode 5 Discussions
I was pissed. LOL. There was the title of the article in big letters (no mention of a spoiler) and then before the 5 facts with pictures started there was this little sentence that could easily have been missed. In going back later and looking, it said at the end of that sentence "beware of some big spoilers" DANG...I didn't see it until after the fact. It may be spoiled for me now but at the same time it gave me relief as well LOL...

Thanks for the link rkc. Seems like AshLee and Arie should hook up since they both like to make the rounds of former bach contestants.

Re: Episode 5 Discussions
It kind of grosses me out that some of these former contestants seem to date multiple people among the Bach Nation. All that swapping bodily fluids amongst themselves. Sorry, not trying to sound disgusting but it's a fact. It's kind of creepy. I don't think they discriminate based on who has what personalities and reputations...after all, Arie dated Courtney and we all know about some of her issues. AshLee and Chris B. have had multiple partners within that group as well. Not sure about Lucy and Jesse or some of the other demon seed.
