Can we believe what RS says?  Unreal is satire.  Lauren is so introverted, I wonder why she went on the show.  Becca is a publicist.  Maybe that would have been good for Arie.

Apparently the other contestants aren’t holding back on their thoughts about Arie. I think what Kendall said was really on point. I’m not feeling what Arie said in the last paragraph. If he really felt that conflicted then we’re back at he should have never proposed to anyone...especially Becca. Also, if he was really trying to make it work with Becca then he shouldn’t have contacted Lauren in the weeks after he proposed. He kind of is a f’ing tool.

Ok that makes sense why his mother said that.  Arie could always hire Becca.  I wonder how that would work out.  HAHA

Saying UnReal is satire does not mean it doesn’t have truth in it. Yes, they use fake storielines and sometimes over exaggerate situations, but the purpose in creating it was to shine a light on reality tv. Sarah Gertrude Shapiro who worked as a producer on The Bachelor/ette has the inside scoop with this franchise. She doesn’t come right out and say this was based on this particular show because she doesn’t want any possible lawsuits, but let’s be realistic here. It is so obvious that it hits you over the head. She has said in interviews that reality tv is so close to scripted at this point. She has said it takes a really sophisticated set of skills to be able to manipulate those emotions out of people. When asked what she would say to anyone who is considering going on a reality show, her response was, “You truly cannot know what you’re signing up for. You can’t understand the power of editing. There are a lot of really smart people making these shows. It’s a chess game you can’t win.”

Anyone that still believes this show is close to reality is just fooling themselves.

I know.  Of course there is truth in it, but like you said, it's exaggerated.  It's not a documentary.  Everybody has their opinions of how much truth there is in these shows.

This made me laugh even though the whole thing is a sad situation. This person is saying a lot of the things I was thinking...

Now wait a minute...Arie just aid his biggest fear is that he risked it all and it might not work out with Lauren.  WTH????  If he loves Lauren then what did he risk?  He didn't want Becca so how does this make sense?

No matter how many times Chris Harrison tries to convince us, this is NOT the most controversial season of the Bachelor.  This season was heading for the bottom so they created this mess to bring up ratings.  I feel sure there is much manipulation for this ending.

Exactly mule....I caught that too. It sounded like he was saying, I hope it works out with you because now I can’t go back to Becca if you turn me down. What an ass! He showed up at Lauren’s and when she asked him if it was 100% over with Becca, his response was an emphatic 1000%...which I thought was quite disrespectful and rude considering he had just broke it off. Sort of like Becca had never meant anything to him.

And I call bullshit on that whole proposal at the end, complete with engagement ring. In the link below, the last paragraph says they got engaged a few weeks ago. That was just for show.

And btw, a couple of those guys they brought out for Becca were pretty nice looking. Especially that one named Chase!

rkc, I think we've seen so many of these shows that we see all the bullshit now.  I call BS on the whole thing lol

I find it funny that Bekah, Tia, and others all sat on the front row showing their disapproval for Arie.  During the show on the bowling date Arie changed his mind about the losing team joining him (yet another hint that the boy can't stick to his decisions) and Krystal got upset with him.  The other girls defended Arie for changing his mind.  Yet now they want him crucified.  lol

I like Becca and thought she handled herself so well tonight.  She is beautiful and seems to have a great personality.  I think I will like watching her season, if there aren't a bunch of goobers for bachelors.

I hope Arie doesn't hurt Lauren and will be glad for them if they are happy.

Lauren is like a delicate flower and I don't want to see her get hurt either.

Becca went from heartbreak to euphoria in one night and boy
was she ever gracious to that heel, Arie.  I would have admired
her if she had declined the lead but obviously that was her
goal at the outset.  Not thrilled about her season but hope she
has some nice eye candy to keep me tuned in.

It is no surprise to me that Arie was drawn to Lauren. In appearance and personality, she is the most like Emily. It is clear to me that Arie is drawn to blondes with demure, quiet personalities - like Emily. But though Emily was not forceful, I think she was strong and knew what she wanted. Is he fooling himself With Lauren? Time will tell.

I may be the biggest cynic here, but I think Arie knew a long time ago that Lauren was the one. The producers of course want a real love story and they will work with it, but they also have to be prepared to conjure one up if a real one doesn't develop. Then they have to prepare the back story for the next Bachelorette. At some point Becca was chosen for that. How much Becca knew in advance, I can't say, but Arie had to go along with the story to launch Becca as the next Bachelorette, and at the same time produce another shocking ending before he could collect the prize he wanted - Lauren.

I agree, bachpourri.  That's just what happened on Jason's season  and they did it to Arie too.  Jason and Arie were both snooze fests so they had to do something.

I noticed all the blonde women in Arie's family and knew he had to be with Lauren.

I think Arie's brother was with a blonde woman who acted like Lauren.

I just can't get excited about Becca being the bachelorette, even after watching the first suitors come out.  I don't really have anything against her.  She just never appealed to me for bachelorette.  But I felt bad that they showed her crying for an hour, so the least they could do was offer it to her.  I don't see how she could trust TPTB after the way the breakup scene was handled, if she was telling the truth tonight.  I think she's either too trusting or just saying it because she thinks she has to and is willing to risk it.  

And how can CH not know Arie was going to propose?  I don't believe it.  Anyhow, at least now we have a respite from the bachelor season.  lol

I'm not that crazy about Becca being bachelorette either.  Apparently, people like her, but I think a lot of people think she is just nice but that doesn't always add up to interesting, plus the breakup she went through with Arie.  Well, maybe it will be better than we expect.

They'll have to cook up some theme more dramatic than she got engaged on the show and "heartbreakingly dumped" on the most dramatic season...  IMO that would get old fast.

Bachelorette season starts May 28, not that I cared to know LOL but I just heard it.

It just seems to me that as much as I like Becca, isn't it kind of soon to be out there looking for another guy so soon after being dumped? Lauren said he didn't even contact her till New Year's Eve so that wasn't all that long ago to get over the man you were planning a family with and were dumped on TV.

I don't think Arie and Lauren will last longer than Nick and Vanessa.   He is a playa!  He dumped his girlfriend not long before becoming the Bachelor.  It's kind of gross.

Becca is not going to be very good at articulating herself, I found it quite painful to watch her interact with Chris and Arie.  I'm like just spit it out already!
Her friends from the show were a little annoying too - I don't know, the whole episode was grating at my nerves.
Glad it's over!!!  I'm looking forward to Survivor.

I said the same thing too on another thread. He is 36 going on 16. He will never have a long term commitment as he is an immature player. I said the same thing about Nick with his declaration that he was looking for love. Yes short term love and on to the next one. They both got their 15 minutes of fame!
