I mean, I don't care who Bach is, I just love that RS got it wrong! I suppose there's a lot of Big Mules who are really happy with this selection. Didn't he Bang Courtney Robertson and Emily Maynard, and probably a few others?

Just reading that Arie said ABC has been talking to him about being the Bach for something like 3 years and he finally felt ready for it. Certainly Arie has been a huge fan favourite ever since he was on Emily's season and people have never stopped campaigning for a Bach gig for him. I think his selection is more unexpected than it is shocking. I suspect Peter did his chances in by being a bit too demanding much the way Luke Pell shot himself in the foot and we ended up with Nick. These guys sometimes get an inflated sense of their own worth after a season on a Bach franchise show and ABC is ready, willing and able to derail their ambitions,

Of course you heard Arie's name thrown around after Emily's season but they ended up choosing Sean Lowe. They even threw around his name the next time the Bachelor was up for grabs. I think it's shocking because usually after a year or two tops that person isn't usually even considered. I think it's a little late to make him the Bachelor now but like I said, at least he is a better choice then some that were in the running. We haven't had an older Bachelor since Byron Velvick.

Couldn't be happier that RS got it wrong. I hope that is a sign of the future and his spoilers for Arie's whole season will be wrong. I hate that dumb guy for spoiling everything.

Maybe Arie's career has not been doing well and he needs some exposure and another 15 minutes of fame. Maybe he just wants to be on DWTS and this is the first step. haha

btw, monkey, is your profile pic a selfie? You probably had a lot of time on your hands the last week or so while you were hunkered down. Nice make-up job.

I haven't followed RS's blog in at least a few years, and I can probably avoid his spoilers next season, too. I prefer the surprise. I don't have anything against RS. Maybe he wasn't so wrong. Perhaps MF was considering Peter until the last moment. Anyway, I'm not sure why Arie is finally committing to it now. I just hope he changes his hair. Smile

It was so long ago that I hardly remember him. IMO Peter would have been a bad choice since he doesn't believe in the process (not that I blame him) & would not propose to anyone.

Arie was the one that a lot of female viewers loved to watch him kissing. Some of you who used to visit the old ABC board probably will remember there were a lot of women hoping for and I'd say even salivating for him to be Bachelor lol after reports/rumors came out that MF was considering him. Arie and Jef were neck and neck in terms of who the posters thought Emily would pick, yet they (Arie and Jef) were the best of friends.

I had never heard that. I remember how upset Arie looked when Emily was telling him she wasn't going to pick him. I thought he didn't take it well.

In trying to find an answer, apparently Arie's leaving was a rumor that wasn't denied or confirmed. I could only find one source:

"After the finale aired in July 2012, In Touch Weekly reported that Arie was Emily’s final pick and their breakup was staged.

Why did Arie leave? Apparently, he wasn’t happy that Emily slept with Jef in the Fantasy Suite.

'Arie didn’t know that she had been sleeping with other people … once Arie (who is rumored to have slept with Emily on multiple occasions) found out he started to wonder how well he knew this woman.'

Apparently, he flew to her place of residence and left his journal on her doorstep. It only sounds very vaguely familiar. I don't remember that very well.

No way should they have any Chick younger than say 28; he'll look too goofy with 23-year olds.

Anyway, it will be entertaining watching and reading all the Big Mules drooling over Arie....You chicks are gonna have a lotta panty laundry days.

Can you imagine all the hilarious Bitchy / Cat Fights from the B'ettes on the show just trying to get his attention? The 2-on-1 dates are gonna be all out slug fests, while the Loser Limo rides are gonna have more crying water works than the Houston flood.

Thanks for finding that. I'm not sure I believe that stuff about Emily sleeping with Jef or Arie. I really don't think she is that dumb. The whole one f Jef was a ruse. There did seem to be some bad vibes between Arie and Emily. It's more likely that she found out what a player he is and chose Jef by default just to please the producers.
The second part about him leaving his journal is what we were told back then. Thanks for reminding me what it was.
