Re: DWTS Season 24
I was just thinking that so far there is no obvious producer manipulation or pushing of any particular celeb. May it continue.
They are beating the Bonner/Sharna sexual chemistry to death and I hope that at least slows to a trickle. I suppose it's all they've got for a showmance. Everybody else but Sharna is ineligible for one.

Don't think we have ever had this many married or engaged pros. Family show 2.0; I'd say.
Peta is off the hook, and Sharna has been single for quite a while now. Bonner may be her first partner who is not in a relationship. Whatever is or is not happening there, it would be a first if producers wouldn't milk it.

Re: DWTS Season 24
That would get tiring if it isn't actually happening between Sharna and Bonner. Why do they think we want that? It's only the beginning of the season. They would have a long way to carry this.

Ask them, not me. Believe me: I could do without that. They should save it for their Bachelor formats.

That was my question, and I have been unable to find anything about it yet. No press release from ABC or news articles from any magazines. Guess we'll have to wait until the weekend when ABC should put out their press release about the upcoming episode.

Might be something like Cirque du Soleil last season; just this time using Vegas show productions. I only hope the scores aren't based on gambling.

Hi Lady M. I'm glad you joined us. We are a pretty convivial bunch and like to talk and have fun. The majority of us are refugees from the old ABC board but we haven't brought that negative baggage along with us (for the most part). Anyway, welcome.LadyMustang65 wrote:Glittersisgld wrote:Is this the first time they will have Las Vegas night? What is Las Vegas night? Splashy productions?

Re: DWTS Season 24
I wonder if Vegas Night is kind of a Latin Night. Looks like the dance list is out now. There will be a number of latin dances, and those that aren't latin get applicable songs. For example Simone and Shasha will be doing quickstep to Viva Las Vegas.

Re: DWTS Season 24
Viva Las Vegas is applicable to the Vegas theme which is what I meant. I agree with your thought about possible splashy productions and was originally thinking maybe splashy latin for the latin dances. But looking more closely at the dances and songs next week there is not as many latin dances as I thought. The potential for splashy latin could be with the Ricky Martin and Jason Derulo songs.

Melissa Rycroft was on ET or some such show yesterday and said she wanted David Ross to win but felt that Rashad would win, though she said it was early to make such a guess.

It is too early to say who is going to win. IMO there are about 4 or 5 who could win.

I'm looking forward to Heather doing Toxic and Normani doing Big Spender. I'm sure there will be other good surprises.

That's no wonder- a lot of them have been used before on the show. The ones I recall:Maria Christine wrote:Wow, I've actually heard of most of these songs!
Viva Las Vegas- Bill and Emma
A Little Party Never Killed Nobody- Riker and Allison
Shake Your BonBon- Kellie and Derek
Toxic- Melissa and Tony
Poker Face- Andy and Sharna
Ain't That A Kick In The Head- Alfonso and Witney
If you dig deeper, I'm sure you'll find more. Not the most creative song choice ever anyway.

Re: DWTS Season 24
Week 3, what I would like to see:
Simone/Sasha - a true ballroom QS, no gymnastic moves. Sasha told her last week she needs to be a dancer now, not a gymnast.
Bonner/Sharna - a really fun Charleston. Show a loosened up Bonner and no "we're so smouldering hot". I'd like playful and light hearted.
Charo/Keo - This FT is likely their swan song so I hope they bring some elegance to it and that Charo dampens down her manic shenanigans. She is really quite a respectable dancer if she could stop over performing after the dance.
Erika/Gleb - Keep a lid on over the top sexiness and just Jive. I think Erika is capable and I know Gleb can choreograph it but I suspect this team is under instructions to be steamy and hot first and foremost.
Rashad/Emma - a Samba doesn't usually translate into huge scores but I anticipate a good one from these two. They are developing that great friends vibe that James and Sharna had. And that was magic.
Nancy/Artem - hoping Nancy gets a little more comfortable. Samba should be easy for her. Love to see Artem happy and smiling.
Normani/Val - I want something amazing from these two tonight. FT is so very much in Val's wheelhouse and Normani gives every indication of being able to keep up with him.
Heather/Alan - please, a proper tango tonight. Don't throw in any extraneous stuff that will set the curmudgeon off again. With the situation with Maks and his injury I'm thinking Alan will have choreographed this so we are less likely to get a repeat of last week.
Mr. T/Kym - a FT. I would like to see Mr. T actually do some dance moves. And can the air punching.
David/Lindsay - this should be good, Lindsay knows how to do jazz as well as anyone on the show.
Nick/Peta - I am hoping Peta has simplified the moves some so Nick can get more confident in his own abilities. Sharna did that last week with Bonner and it benefited him greatly.

Others that come to mind:
Toxic- Rachel & Jonathan way back in season 1, and of course Rumer & Val's freestyle
Ain't That a Kick in the Head?- Helio & Julianne, one of my favorite foxtrots

As long as I like the dance, it doesn't matter to me if they repeat the song, unless I don't like the song. I'm not that crazy about Poker Face.

Per George Pennacchio here is the dance order for Week 3:
Nick, Mr. T., Bonner, Heather, Charo, Simone, Nancy, David, Erika, Rashad, and Normani.
Nick, Mr. T., Bonner, Heather, Charo, Simone, Nancy, David, Erika, Rashad, and Normani.
