Didn't they say something on the other board about Sharna not projecting a lot of emotion? Something like that. I feel there is something standoffish about her.

When Sharna looks in the camera, it is like she is teasing, "Are you man enough to get me?"
On All Access, she and James were showing folks how they practice gazing into each other's eyes. I seriously can't imagine any hetero male not having "blood flow problems" when she turns it on.

Yes, she does have that teasing look about her.

Re: Week 6, Season 23, "Latin Night"
I assume the 'other board' is the old abc one? That's history anyway, but these comments probably went back to the beginning of her DWTS carreer. Seriously, how would you step into it with Andy Dick? He needed the nurturing type of partner (what Emma with Bill and Peta with Tommy were also great at), and from that perspective she killed it. On the other hand, Peta was often criticised for being overly sexy or raunchy- so there is a fine line you better not cross. Anyway, I think Sharna has always been there one hundred percent for her partners. Take Noah, who said no one else could have worked with him like she did. He and Nick are still supporting her. In return, she recently visited a BSB concert. And she sent birthday greetings to Antonio. She doesn't need to project emotion- she oozes it. She's excited about James and what he's able to pull off. He just needs to channel Mario Lopez or Giles Marini a bit more, and they'll be unstoppable.Glittersisgld wrote:Didn't they say something on the other board about Sharna not projecting a lot of emotion? I'm not saying Sharna is not there for her partners or has no emotion, but it is how she came across to other people on the other board, but I really didn't get into that discussion there. I think Sharna has the coolness of what they would say about a blonde woman and Peta has the warmth of a brunette. Maybe I'm saying that wrong, but something like that.

Re: Week 6, Season 23, "Latin Night"
I'm going to need a little help here with the "coolness of a blonde" and the "warmth of a brunette" thing. How about giving me a couple of examples of blondes and brunettes that reflect those qualities as you think of them? Because I have no such stereotypes in my head. Marilyn Monroe, for example, wasn't cool, she was incredibly needy. So if you could name, for example, a blonde who Sharna is like and a brunette who Peta is like, I might be able to understand what is being said.

This is obviously not a hard and fast rule. I'm talking about stereotypes they sometimes used to give for blondes and brunettes, and obviously everyone does not fit into this category. They talk about cool blondes, like say Grace Kelly, Tippi Hedren, any blonde in a Hitchcock movie, for example. Brunettes coming across as maybe warmer, more emotional or earthy, like maybe Sophia Loren or Ava Gardner. These are more stereotypes.

The funny aspect of this discussion is that Sharna's original color is blonde, while Peta is dark-haired...

Not that it matters too much. Look at Sharna as Yasmine in her Foxtrot with Noah on Disney Night, or Peta as June Carter in her Paso with Tommy. Stunning women whatever color they choose.
