Re: Season 22 Week 2
Thanks, SLA! I'm not quite sure what to think about tonight, so we'll just have to wait and see.
I am expecting the Nyle will do well with the rumba. With his modeling experience, he should be able to get the 'flavor' of the dance down well, and given how well he was moving last week, he might actually be able to get the rumba hips going as well. Geraldo and salsa is probably a no-go. Not sure about Doug and the paso doble. That's one dance where his stiffness might serve him well. And if "Pata Pata" can't get Mischa to relax, then probably nothing can. < lol >
I expect Von will handle the cha cha okay, not sure if Antonio will be able to pull off a rumba, and Wanya should be fun in a salsa.
I'm looking forward to seeing if last week was a fluke, or if we really do have a large bunch of potential contenders this season.

Re: Season 22 Week 2
Geraldo was the right one to go home tonight. He had a great attitude but no rhythm to go with it. I think Mischa needs to go next - she doesn't even look like she wants to be there and it has to very frustrating to Artem trying to teach her. I was wondering if she even had a personality and then CA told her she saw more of her personality tonight and I was wondering what she saw that I didn't. I thought Doug did a very decent job tonight with the Paso and I hope he continues improving next week. I still haven't figured out which was my favorite dance of the night. They really have a good group of contestants this year IMO. The weakest one to me is Mischa.

Re: Season 22 Week 2
I pretty much agree, SLA. I too was impressed with how much better Doug was this week than last. That's not to say he's top tier, but I thought he did a very creditable job with the paso, and I liked Karina's choreography.
Geraldo was the right one to go, although it's a shame that means Edyta is leaving as well. It's been such a long time since she was on - what a waste. I adore Artem, and I'm getting frustrated that this hasn't worked out. I suspect they meant to give him someone who had a chance - Mischa is young and lithe and should theoretically be able to move and she should have a decent fanbase from The OC. But she really does not seem like she wants to be doing this. Very poor attitude - she seems so 'sour' all the time. And when she just walked away from Artem in practice - I felt bad for him. So while I will miss him, I don't think Mischa is long for this competition, and it's pretty much her own fault. I suspect she would be a decent to good dancer if her attitude wasn't so poor.
Antonio did not do well with the rumba at all, but Nyle knocked it out of the park. Really good job. He along with Paige, Von and Wanya were the highlights for me. The rest all did a decent job, I thought, with Mischa, Marla, and Geraldo being the low lights. Everyone else was in the middle doing a nice job.
Sorry to hear that Mark is hurt. I liked his choreography, and Alan did a good job stepping in at the last minute.
So last week was not a fluke - it looks like we do have a real solid group. And with the exception of Mischa, they all seem to be having fun and be quite likeable.
