DWTS 21 Cast Announcement

The cast will be announcent on September 2nd on GMA

To be totally honest, the pro announcement is more interesting. As for the celebrities, usually 95% are nobodies to me; still they offer some nice surprises. But that is sth I can only find out once the season started.

The pro announcement usually preceeds the cast reveal by a week or so. I am not anticipating many surprises. The only question is likely who will fill (or try to) Kym's dancing shoes. I would like to see Sasha get another stab at pro status but someone would have to not return. I have heard talk that perhaps Keo should go to the troupe for a season or two but I feel that is very unlikely as he fills that diversification role on DWTS.

Henry would deserve it as much as Sasha, but their only chance would be Derek and/ or Mark taking a time out. Kym is as irreplaceable as Cheryl and Karina. Sharna, Peta, Witney, and Emma would make me happy.

diversification.....that is a new word for me......personally i would get rid of the troupe and just have everyone dance....20 couples ....why not Wink

Too many for the series, unless they eliminated 3-4 couples per week.

It never bothers me that I don't know some of the "celebrities" they have on here...I don't care who they are...I just want to watch the show...and I'd vote for a 20 week stint! Pickle dance

Most of the pro cast was announced today.

Females announced were Witney, Sharna, Peta, Allison, and Karina. One more not announced.

Males are: Derek, Mark, Val, and Artem. Two missing yet. Val announced that he is the seductive heart throb of the show and he is ready for another win.

Judges as expected. Julianna just got engaged. Len will be in and out all season. Guest judges expected.

The pro lineup as reported by Gossip Cop includes Emma. I would be quite surprised if Emma doesn't make the cut. So the only usual suspects not included so far are Tony and Keo. Tony has been on so long I'm not sure the show could start without him but with Keo it may be different. I think Keo is a marvellous dancer but (and this is strictly my opinion) he hasn't shown me good teaching/coaching skills. Mind you, neither has Allison and TPTB seem completely on board with her.

Oh well, for me, I am thrilled with our Lovely Ladies being back, especially Peta!

I am so very glad to have another one of our clover leaf ladies back, bro. When Karina herself said she and DWTS couldn't agree on financial considerations I thought, oh, oh, she may well be gone for good. There must have been a meeting of the minds, thank goodness. Flower

I forgot to mention one thing: Karina is a clever businesswoman. She knows what popularity is worth. So once she found out fans kept requesting her comeback, financial considerations might not even have been that decisive. Not that it matters to me. There's only one thing that makes up for Kym's absence. Karina. And there she is. Maybe Rob Wade makes it a strategy, bringing back a fan favorite every season. Who's next? Cheryl? Lacey? Anna? Edyta?

Len himself has been talking about retirement since S18. Some expected him to be gone by now, but the DWTS website is still listing him. So maybe he will just take a couple of weeks off again. A little Len is better than nothing. I've said this on the other forum: he deserves a huge farewell party whenever the time has come.

DWTS Gossip is still (as of yesterday) saying there is an excellent possibility that Michael Wentink will be replacing Len. Soon we'll know.
