Glitz; I practically watched every show since the Aaron-Helene series. A bunch of drunk, single chicks in Bikinis gettin in cat-fights over a salt-n-pepper immature Narcissist who looks like he's in his early 40s - are you kidding, this is almost as good as the NCAA Final Four! (not really).
I mean a HornDawg like Arie, I can just imagine the competition for 1-on-1 time and bitchy, nail clawing, "excuse me, can I grab him for a moment" - this will be more drama and entertainment than bus full of Drag Queens:)
PS: all snark aside Glitz; let's have fun and I'll do my best to not pizz you off. Deal?

Re: The Bachelor, 2018
How many men do you think are out there who are married with kids who have affairs? There are plenty of them and sometimes it's a cultural thing. I think men in Egypt can have multiple wives. And of the bachelors who are leads on the show, we don't know who will eventually have affairs anyway. Why single out Arie when this goes on all the time and we don't really know what Arie did except what we hear on the internet or what his intentions are?

Re: The Bachelor, 2018
For all the Arie non-fans there are hundreds of pro-Arie cheerleaders. Sean Lowe campaigned vigorously for an Arie Bach season and Emily Maynard has nothing but nice things to say about him.
As for me, I am looking forward to an entertaining season. I have no way of knowing Arie's true nature but I liked him on Em's season so I shan't pre-judge him based on gossipy hearsay. We've had some pretty ho-hum seasons lately so I have high hopes!

Well, well Robby Hayes will be on The Bachelor Canada aftershow tonight. Jasmine was on last week and she was funny and entertaining.
Our Canadian Bach version is going great. I'm loving it.

DILLY DILLY Lez !! How's they hanging?
Does Canadian Bach use the same tired formula as the original - you know;
1. On Final Rose Day, Bachelor exhibits psychological angst because he's "In Love With Two Women".....
2. so he solves the delimna by *Banging* both in the Fantasy Suite, but announces next day was really in love with the other 'when she stepped out of the Limo".
3. Manufactured Drama - either pitting 2-on-1 Bitch Fight Dates, or hunting down somebody's ex who is jilted they weren't notified when lover signs up for Bachelor.
4. The Bachelor is a re-run reject from the prior show, who had his heart ripped out when he didn't get final rose, but now is ready 'to find love again'.
I think, maybe these other local shows are used as experiments to try new formulas, or test-market new ways to generate ratings. Then again, we're talking Bachelor - they can't be that smart.

Re: The Bachelor, 2018
Hi there FHM.
I will answer as best I can. The Bach Canada is different in many ways. They follow the usual format roughly but there is a definite Canadian spin on things. The Canadian Bach is always a new guy, previously unseen. That I like. Final Rose Angst as in torn between two lovers, not so much.
Of course there is the requisite bitchy-witchy ladies although far fewer than the American version. This season presented the trouble making bitch night one but Chris (the Bach) read her correctly and quickly gave her the boot. I thought at the time that she would have hung in much longer on the US show at the producer's direction. Naturally we have a new bitchy-witchy emerging (gotta have that drama).
I find the cast more human, for want of a better word. Maybe real in a totally unreal setting will work. Chris had a date where they flew in a small plane and he is quite apprehensive about small planes. His nervousness and anxiety was plainly shown and I doubt we would see that on the American show.
I guess you could say the innate Canadianess tends to show and I don't know if it would fly in the US where the viewers expect and demand a very different approach.
By the way, I actually liked Robby Hayes on the Aftershow. Never did before! Kaitlyn Bristowe is a regular on the show and is always delightfully herself.

I saw that Glitters. They seem pretty happy.
Guests on this week's Bach Canada After show were Carly and Evan and Vanessa Grimaldi. Kaitlyn Bristowe is a regular on the show. She and Shawn are very good friends with Carly and Evan being Nashvillites (or something). Wells was on a couple of weeks ago.

So, who watched the Countdown to Arie and what did you think? Looks like we will get the usual assortment of women, crazies, bitches, emotional wrecks and some normal candidates. The tears will flow and the manipulation will be business as usual. But I like Arie and I think he will prove a great Bachelor.
I did get a kick out of the "awkward kisses"; some were truly cringeworthy.

I watched some of it. I thought the women seemed more quality than usual. They didn't seem on the fringe. I don't know why they don't do that every season.

Re: The Bachelor, 2018
Haven’t been on here for a few months, so how the hell is everyone? Everyone ready for Christmas?
Anyway, yes, I watched it last night. Regardless of whether I think he is looking for a life partner or not it definitely will be an interesting season. It reminded me of some things I forgot about when he was on Emily’s season. I really think he was hurt when Emily dumped him like that but he recovered nicely and I don’t think it took him a long time to get over it like they insinuated. I just hope that the majority of those girls are not in their mid 20’s like they kept showing last night. Unless he requested that which would make me think he is still into young girls.
Looks like from the previews that this season will be filled with the same nonsense as usual regardless (sigh)...

The girls range in age from 23 to 33. Ari is only 35. I think these girls seem more poised and mature for their age than the usual batch and I think they are more accomplished. But of course there is going to be some hijinks or the show would get boring.

Re: The Bachelor, 2018
I never assume the new batch of contestants for the season coming up are more mature then any of the previous seasons. You never know until you start to get into it. Sometimes the ones you think are going to be decent end up being the crazy ones. And of course everyone knows that they have to have drama to hold peoples attention. I just think there are a lot of people like myself that get tired of the same old story lines. Change it up a bit. That is what gets boring to me.

Re: The Bachelor, 2018
It looks like the same kind of drama, except for the gossip and debate about one of the women not wanting to reveal her actual age. Good, I suppose that means she's older, closer in age to Arie. I heard the "average" age of the women is 27.
Some of the awkward kisses were gross, but those bachelor/ettes can laugh about it now. lol
I'm not ready for Christmas (but delighted and happy about Alabama). Happy Holidays everyone. Happy Holidays America.

I'm not making an assumption. I'm going by what I see. These girls are more poised and more mature for their age than the usual batch. How they act once the show starts, I don't know, but I'm going by what is presented to me. There are times when I think the contestants aren't good enough from the very beginning. What do you want different about the show? It's basically a dating show and that isn't going to change. If I was really unhappy with the show, I wouldn't watch it.Keepthefaith1960(rkc1960) wrote:I never assume the new batch of contestants for the season coming up are more mature then any of the previous seasons. Re: The Bachelor, 2018
As a Bach fan and a Canadian I am fortunate as the Bachelor Canada is on right now (nearly done tho, only two more weeks). So I don't have that long gap between Bach shows. There are a lot of differences between the Canadian and American version while still following the same general format. Anyway I will enjoy Arie as the new Bachelor and hope he finds love.

Do you like the Canadian version better? How do you think they should change the American to make it like the Canadian or did you say that before?

Re: The Bachelor, 2018
I guess the Canadian version is more relatable to me simply because it is Canadian. But, I like to see how the other half lives, so to speak, so I enjoy the American version too. The Canadian Bach is a little more realistic with less manufactured drama but I don't know if that would fly in the U.S. So just leave 'em the way they are, I suppose.

So basically we got a bunch of dysfunctional, insecure Boozy-Floozies. You know, just like every episode of Bachelor.

One episode down and the most tedious to me. I am looking forward to getting to know some of the ladies which usually doesn't happen for a few weeks when a number of them are winnowed out. I am also trying mightily to avoid all spoilers, I would love to be surprised.
