Artem has been on for several seasons now but TPTB don't usually gift him with a contender. He first appeared on season 18 as a troupe member. Season 19 he was a pro with Lea Thompson as partner. He had Patti LaBelle in season 20 and there was some hanky panky about season 21. He was announced as a pro but suddenly wasn't. Then season 22 he was handed the unfortunate Mischa Barton. Last season he had Maureen McCormick. I was surprised and thrilled when Artem was given Nancy Kerrigan this season. Finally a contender.

Sasha started out in troupe for 3 seasons then did a great job as a pro with Snooki on season 17. Season 22 he had Kim Fields and last season took Terra Jole a long way.

I always feel that they aren't on at the same time in the same season, but I'm seeing a lot of them this season.

First of all, after her enthusiastic comment and scoring a nine, do you still think Julianne holds a grudge against Maks? Obviously not. She and Bruno got it right.
Second, I don't think Alan or any other choreographer could have done sth completely different with that song.
Third, let's imagine for a moment they had given Heather a different song and the number would have looked more like what CA considers Jazz (on another note, Bruno could enlighten her about the various styles). Chances are she would have complained that Heather took the easy road and didn't get into character.
Nancy's Jazz was actually quite similar style- lots of spins an lyrical moves in there too, yet she got all nines. Not saying she didn't deserve them. It just goes to show that at times the judging is not about the dancing.

It looks like the guys are going to do the male stripper thing like David did with the chairs. He's really into thrusting his pelvis and other parts, he took his shirt off and told the others too also. At first I thought ok I've seen enough of David whipping it around, but this time we get to see, Nick, Bonner and Rashad Very Happy

David said "I'm the lead singer, of course". Ummm.....no. Getting a little cocky are we? I'm with Peta she said Nick already looks like a boy bander.

Guess I have to be Team Boy Band tonight. The Girl Group bunch might beat them as they have more top dancers but I don't think anyone will beat the choreography of Sharna, Peta, Lindsay and Emma!

It seems a strange thing to do to pit women against men in dancing. Is this a first for the show? I guess it will be interesting. I often think women are more interesting to watch when dancing, but maybe that's just when it is a couple dancing.

That was a pretty hot Boy Band! Fun all the way! Girls will probably blow them out if the water but they won't be more fun.

The girls were, as expected, better dancers than the guys. But the Boys were just more darn fun and as Len said, entertaining.

I am not surprised that Heather is going. FB wasn't wild over her and that is often a good indicator. Marvellous dance though, that rumba.

The guys were a lot of fun, and I'm just glad that it wasn't Nancy because I'm really enjoying watching her through this whole thing.

Now, I said before that when it's early in the season, the judges should have more say when eliminating couples. Tonight's elimination is the reason why.

The boys' dance seemed longer. The girls' dance started out good but then wasn't as exciting.

We often speculate on whether the judges know in advance who will be eliminated. After last night I think they do. Heather and Maks certainly turned in a great performance and got their parting gift of 10s. But, there was a lift, yes one of those dreaded, forbidden lifts and Ms Lift Officer didn't call it. When it happened I thought - here we go, 1 point off for that but nope, not a peep from CAI. I think the script had been written and was being followed completely.

I noticed that too sis. Not only the lift, but usually they say the Rumba should flow smoothly and theirs looked to me more like one Val would do and no one said anything. JMO I thought her Tango and Cha Cha with were more worth 10's than the one last night. Of course I did like it and thought she looked very pretty!! Very Happy
