Re: DWTS Season 24
Check out these drawings of some of the teams created by John Musker, the Director of Animation at Walt Disney Animation Studios.
Below are Simone and Sasha (Moana) Rashad and Emma (Beauty and the Beast), and Bonner and Sharna (Wreck-It Ralph).

Just heard Rashad and Emma dance first tonight. Shoot, that usually means underscored.

Re: DWTS Season 24
Much of the music didn't seem to be suitable for the dance. Most couples did handle the dances well. I'm not much impressed this season for some reason; the dancing is competent but not very interesting. Maybe it's too much jazz and contemporary.

Being that it was Disney Night, I just took it as a variation on Tinker Bell.Babs2147 wrote:Didn't care for Julianne's coiffure.

Seeing as how we are critiquing Ms Hough's look I will add - those dark, dark eyebrows were very jarring. For some reason, J will do that every now and then and I find it most unflattering. I think she was channeling Tinker Bell with that topknot.

Re: DWTS Season 24
Okay, so Heather while doing a Jive does a short hip-hop break which is her speciality. Len, in full Grumpy Old Man mode, tears a strip off her for not preserving the "purity" of the dance. Fast forward to Disney night - Simone, meant to be doing a contemporary dance does a gymnastic floor routine, her speciality. Len, now in avuncular, indulgent Grandpa mode gushes all over it. Ridiculous much?

Wouldn't he blame the choreographer for what they are dancing since the celebs don't make up the dances?

He should have but in Heather's case he took his ire out on her. He adored Simone so the choreo was of no concern to him.

Re: DWTS Season 24
Remember our different opinions from the beginning of the season? You said you'd prefer Simone, while I went with Laurie- yes, that was me! (I wouldn't even mind if Val wins again, because Normani has what it takes- and this time it wouldn't feel like he's taking it from Sharna- if you know what I mean).Lesallee wrote:Okay, so Heather while doing a Jive does a short hip-hop break which is her speciality. However, right now Simone has the highest cumulative score. You can't blame Len alone for that, but something is going wrong here...

Re: DWTS Season 24
Generally, Disney night is about fusing a dance style and a character. For me, Val, Peta, and Sharna stood out (again) as choreographers (the ladies having the more difficult tasks though) with Emma and Artem close behind. Given the song, Maks had no choice but to go for more lyrical movement. Lindsay's concept was too close to Hinch's trio Jive for me. Sasha had good intentions, but Simone didn't get it. Ranking all pros, Gleb is in last place for me. Ok, the routine was sophisticated and finally a different side of Erika, but where was the Disney reference?

Re: DWTS Season 24
You know what, bro? I am becoming disappointed in Sasha. I truly did prefer Simone over Laurie but Sasha isn't presenting her in a way I find appealing. I'm sorry to have to say that because I like Saha but that's my feeling.
Peta, Emma and Sharna are out choreographing the men. I will exclude Artem from that as he is getting everything right with Nancy. Val is doing pretty good, he has made a few miscalculations but it hasn't hurt Normani.
Emma has a potential winner on her hands and I like how she is developing him. But I reserve my highest praise for Peta and Sharna who have partners without a prayer of winning. Still they design great dances and keep their partners in the mix.

I know what you mean. Sasha was so great with Terra (who was supposed to be a greater challenge), and now that thing should be so much easier he struggles. Said it earlier, I think he feels the pressure.Lesallee wrote:You know what, bro? I am becoming disappointed in Sasha. He may be feeling the pressure of having a gymnast and thinking he has a potential winner, but at least he's not crying about it! Right Val?...

Len has dressed Heather down quite a bit this season.....obviously not a favorite of his.
Earlier in the season I posted that Simones dances looked like gymnastic moves not dance moves ...nothing has really changed on that. I remember the judges getting on Anastasia (Nastia) about her arms and legs looking more like gymnastic moves, but they looked better than Simones, imo, and the judges never say anything to Simone. To me that stands out more than her emotions.

Re: DWTS Season 24
On the posts about the pro and their choreography....CA did say the lack of Jazz was not Heathers fault. Wonder what it would have looked like if Alan would have choreographed it, of course we will never know. The judges seemed to like Heather and Alans partnership.......we'll see what happens when Maksim comes back.....I know Bruno will be happy!!

A Sasha/Artem primer for Glitters. First, Artem, second Sasha.

Thank you so much, and I should probably get more used to them since they are on at the same time or have they always been? I think Artem isn't usually on the show?
