Re: Finals, Night One & Two
Everyone got enthusiastic applause and cheers but Nick and Sharna simply brought the house down - twice! Tom had a hard time quieting them down.
See Nick, when you are just being your adorable BSB self and letting it all hang loose you are unbeatable!

Re: Finals, Night One & Two
The "World's Greatest Choreographer, Living or Dead" seems to have run out of ideas. Derek doldrums have come upon him. As I said on another thread, DWTS, Season 21 Starring Derek Hough, Bindi Irwin and The Ghost of Steve Irwin.Oakma wrote:Bindi freestyle was SO predictable ... such a shame,I was expecting to see something innovative and exciting and NEW ...
I found it boring, not moving and the Steve Irwin tribute has been done, done and redone. But, the viewers have been fed such a steady diet of Bindi that she will most likely win.
Wouldn't it be lovely to have a Derek free season?

Buddy TV just ranked Nick's and Sharna's Jive as the dance of the night. Better than any of the freestyles. I concur, that dance was pure joy and one I will watch again many times.

Re: Finals, Night One & Two
Everyone else was about celebrating and having fun- only Derek got melodramatic. And as much as I have to pay tribute to Bindi for her performance, the way he played that card was almost cynical. As if her true emotions were abused to create maximum effect. She was believeable. He was not. Talk about disconnection. On top of it, even Nastia was shown in tears. What a coincidence. If Bindi wins it, she wins it on her own. If not, it's mostly Derek who lost it, not her.Lesallee wrote:The "World's Greatest Choreographer, Living or Dead" seems to have run out of ideas. Re: Finals, Night One & Two
I rather disagree that Bindi would (or will) win it on her own. The Derek FANatics are out in hoards proclaiming his genius in teaching Bindi everything she needs to know to become the most glorious champion DWTS has ever known. Never underestimate the Derek fans.
For me this season is a repeat of the Amber Riley season. The producers chose who they wanted on day one and prodded, manipulated and fiddled until it happened. With Amber I believe it was about her, not Derek. She was a feel good champion all around, an overweight, black female so they gave her the pro they regard as their superstar with his huge fan base and the judges did their part. Voila, it happened just as envisioned.
This time, with Bindi may be a slightly different scenario. I really think there will be a Bindi reality series presented soon by ABC so the blatant and obvious propping is designed to tie in to future things. As with Amber, Bindi isn't the best dancer so she needed Derek and his adoring fans also.
The only thing that can stop a Bindi coronation is if Nick's backstreetarmy voted like crazy. Even then I don't know if the millions of older ladies who see Derek as perfect and Bindi as almost saintly can be counteracted.
Anyway, after tonight it's over and come Jan. I can hop over to the Bach topic and complain there.

Re: Finals, Night One & Two
I am just glad that I don't have to see any more " cry over the dead daddy" dances ... I got real tired of that one note real fast.
.... I lost my dad when I was young too and it isn't easy but this using it to cry poor little me and getting things because people feel sad and sorry for you is not good in any way.
I am not able to watch the show tonight and I bet I won't miss a thing as the ending was so so obvious throughout this season.

I fear you are right, Oakma, as to the ultimate outcome but Nick is singing tonight so I will watch for that reason.Oakma wrote:I am just glad that I don't have to see any more " cry over the dead daddy" dances ... I got real tired of that one note real fast.

I understand His Houghness' contract is up after this season, so is this gifted MBT a goodbye present or an enticement to re sign?
To Bindi:
Edited to add: if by some miracle Bindi doesn't win I will happily eat my words. Virtually of course.

Maybe if Derek doesn't come back, he could be on Bindi's reality show with her.Les wrote:

Re: Finals, Night One & Two
Yes it was all worth it for that.
I told my sister how crappy it was to make all the other celebs have to be a part of a 10 week memorial service and B paying tribute and crying week after week after week after week
