Tamar Braxton
Tamar was shown avowing her superiority at dancing. Anger and outrage ensues. But, Tamar takes to Twitter and explains that the producers told her to say it and assured her everyone else was saying it too. Well, maybe they were but big surprise, in the edited packages only Tamar is seen and heard voicing that opinion. I believe Tamar and I think she is being targeted by the producers with continuous negative editing. TPTB did the same thing to Nastia last season but Nastia, with her gymnast training reacted stoically and didn't hit back. She should have and I hope Tamar continues to stand up for herself.
On the Valentay thread I said Val was at a loss for words over the performance but on reflection, I believe he was angry and consciously keeping his mouth shut. I have watched that dance again and it deserved better than 8s and those negative comments heaped on Tamar.
The manipulation is becoming so blatant this season that it is getting sickening . I hope this producer driven interference doesn't see Tamar gone next week but I am afraid it will because people are so easily lead which TPTB count on to accomplish their agenda.

I think TPTB have Tamar pencilled in as their "shocking elimination" and have been manoeuvring and manipulating to accomplish that for several weeks.

Re: Tamar Braxton
Tamar and Val were my favourite last night.
I do believe that about what Tamar said about the producers, because the show has been on long enough now that quite a few are coming out saying they are told or it is suggested to them what to do or say then they can edit it enough to their liking(the producers)
It didn't bother me at all what she said, because I do think she is the best dancer left..especially out of the women.
When they were talking to Leah I thought Tamar turned it into a positive with what she said..Val did say others thought that about themselves, but didn't have the (insert his hand gestures..lol..) to say it.
For me Tamar or Alexa would not be a shocking elimination because of all the drama they are throwing at them......Alek and Andy just aren't as exciting to me to watch as Tamar, Nick and Carlos.
You are rocking it Queen Tamar!!

Re: Tamar Braxton
There was more in that package that will hurt her with voters, and I don't think you can blame it on the producers. Val told the camera that it has taken him seven weeks to feel like Tamar trusts in their partnership (or something like that). That makes Tamar sound stand-offish and distrustful, at the least, and feeds right into the judges' perception that she "looks better when they dance side-by-side as compared to when they are in hold".
Val said the same thing about Elizabeth Berkeley at around this same time, and promptly got himself a surprise elimination.

Re: Tamar Braxton
Why would they want to get rid of Tamar when she is one of their most entertaining dancers and Julianne said she is the most natural dancer. Nastia just plain wasn't likable. I didn't even like seeing her on any commercials or promotions after the show was over. Nastia to me has Tamar beat in the unlikable department. And wasn't Bindi the only one who got all tens last night? I thought Carlos' dance was the best last night. Why didn't he get tens? Alek should be the one to go next.

If Tamar goes next week, the audience should throw tomatoes and rotten eggs at the executives.

No, I used the word "you" when I should have used the word "one". And the comment was meant to convey the idea that it didn't make sense to me to blame the judges for the fallout over Val's confession in that package. Of course you can blame whomever you want, whether it makes any sense to me or not!
[I'm going to have to find a better way of wording things so that folks know not to take my comments personally. ]

Re: Tamar Braxton
Reading fb comments the Tamar hate is at high tide. I would be surprised only if she escapes elimination next week. Too bad, she is probably the best dancer left, but popularity is everything on this show and I believe the producers have her right here they want her.

Re: Tamar Braxton
and I thought I saw where they are doing dance offs and immunity. Probably won't get immunity, but I guess the dance off won't help if it goes on votes and scores from last week. I think the person with immunity can't get voted off even if scores were from last week...not sure.

No I think the writing is on the wall for Tamar. Immunity will be given to Bindi, I expect, who doesn't need it and the show can continue its manipulations.kincaid53 wrote: and I thought I saw where they are doing dance offs and immunity. Immunity is earned for having the best judges' scores that week, and it nullifies the results of the voting from the week before. So, if Tamar had the lowest combined judges' scores and votes from last Monday and would have been going home next Monday, if she were to get the highest judges' scores next Monday, someone else would go home next Monday.

Re: Tamar Braxton
For Tamar to leave and Bindi to get immunity are the 2 things that don't need to happen. Even though I don't dislike Bindi, her constant cheerfulness makes it worse. Like ABC and the public must have someone with this constant cheerful attitude win. Why don't they just go with a dark horse for once in their lives?

Most of America tunes in to shows like this for escape. Happy escape. Consequently, they do not vote for contestants who are having bad days. If darkness was what they were looking for, they would change the channel to almost anything else on TV. They come to this show for refreshing lightness.

I didn't mean darkness in that way, but someone who acts more in the middle. I think it would be happy if anyone else won too. They don't have to be Shirley Temple.

Re: Tamar Braxton
They let Maks and Val win. They aren't Shirley Temples. Though people might have done that so that they would stop their brooding about never having won the MBT and stop being sour pusses about that. (I'm joking, but there is an element of truth to that, I think).
We are talking about the same people who now have zero tolerance for injury complaints.
If someone gets injured, they would like that person to either quit or shut up about the pain they are in. (With the exception of being hit in the family jewels -- for that, they can have a snack).
And sure, that means that to a certain extent, the winner is going to be someone who had put on a happy face and pretended to have rainbows shooting out his or her rectum much of the time on the show when he or she might not have felt like it.
Then we get this impossibly happy teenage girl who is the real deal. Some, like me, will reward that. Others will find her happiness annoying and punish her for it.
But one thing I can say -- America has always voted for the person who would give them the best "feel good" ending to the season. I don't think that will ever change. No one watches this show who is not a closet romantic.

Re: Tamar Braxton
I don't include the pros in who I want to win. I'm referring strictly to the celebs. I don't care if people complain somewhat about their injuries as long as it is not the only thing they are talking about. It's not unnatural to say something about an injury. I know there have been some winners who have not just had a sunny disposition. They have had a more even personality. Nicole S or Donald Driver weren't acting unusually cheerful. Even Alfonso's personality I liked, but I just knew he would win.

This is JMHO, but I do not like Tamar's attitude. She has made no attempt to have "chemistry" with Val and I'm sure he will be glad when she goes home. For me, the sooner the better. I love Val, and am sorry he got saddled with her.

Newto, just checking on an assumption here... did Tamar lose your vote or did she never earn it in the first place?

Psychee -- I don't vote. I just have had a negative impression of her from the beginning. She comes from a family of divas....and she feels she is somehow entitled. JMHO.

Re: Tamar Braxton
The producers and the reporters love to bait the contestants with questions like "Who do you think is the best dancer" or "who do you think will win". Most contestants would go with the diplomatic answers such as "everyone in the competition has their own strength". I think that Tamar somewhat took the bait and said that she is the best dancer in the competition. Another problem is that she seems to be very focus on herself all the time. Rewatching the foxtrot, I noticed that she never looked at or acknowledged the other troupe members who were dancing with her. JMO.

OK...Thanks for responding... Why don't you vote? It takes only a minute online and you have at least half a day to do it. Sometimes, every little vote counts. Each week you get as many votes as there are people left.

Re: Tamar Braxton
I wasn't too crazy about Tamar on her reality show and when I first saw her on DWTS, but when comparing her to the others and their dancing, I kind of changed my mind about her. There is just something about her dancing that I found appealing.

I have never voted and I have been watching the show since the beginning. Just the way I am. I consider this show, just as I consider the Bach/ette shows, entertainment only. I just don't have any investment in the outcome. To me it is 2 hours when I can forget the everyday cr** of life.
