Smoke gets in your eyes
Written by Jerome Kerns and Otto Harback in 1933 seemed to be the overwhelming theme for last nights version of a ballroom dancing show.Nothing but copius amounts of smoke that seemed to be directed toward our judges. They would have to wait a couple of minutes to fan it away from their table. Question is, is how could they see what they were supposed to be judging? Last week it was turning the lights just about off, this week it's the indiscriminate use of smoke to hide dancers mistakes as well as some dimmed lighting. Is our Robby forgetting to pay the electric bill or doing it to be part of the greening of America movement. What's next weeks gimmick, resurrecting the L. Welk bubble machine. BTW the song was written in 1933 and the b side was a song called Jealousy. Smoke has been covered by just about any singer you can think but became a smash hit when the Platters released it in the late 50s.

I think the smoke was a bit much, and I do think the "spooky" feeling was not done well last night.Too much smoke to see a lot of the dancing.

Well, Tom did comment to the crew that they were only a few minutes from becoming a radio show.
