But then isn't that saying that Jason paid a terrible price for listening to them if he did listen to them? Kaitlyn seemed to do what she wanted too. Didn't JP pay the price more by just being himself? He made those anti-gay remarks on his own. I don't think the show told him to do that. I just find it hard to believe that Jason would put himself through that much distress for the show.

Jason did it twice, glitters. Once when he chose Melissa over Molly and again when he didn't tell Melissa that he had been talking to Molly and that is why he broke the engagement. He even said he wished he hadn't done things that hurt others and wished he had stood up to the producers.

The Bachelor franchise is much too important for events to be left to chance. The basic story line is set before taping begins, but producers can't control everything, and adjustments have to be made during production. "Reality" just means that things never go according to plan. It is instructive to watch season 1 of Unreal, which was created by an ex-producer of the Bachelor.

Last season the story line was whether poor two-time loser Nick would be able to find love at all. This season the story is that at the end Arie is in love with two women, so how does he make the right choice? The give away was that Arie said as much on Kimmel as the season began. Previous Bachelors were not allowed to reveal anything in advance. So this seems to be a setup for a repeat of the Jason Mesnick ending, or some variation.

Viewers disapprove that Arie told two women that he was in love with them, and say that he would be a total jerk if he changed his mind after making his choice. But it is all part of the script, and it is not the real Arie. The worst thing is that the women probably are not clued in to the story line and are just being manipulated. For the show to work, their emotions have to be real.

Whatever happens, I hope that Arie ends up with Lauren. Happy ending, fake or not. But it would be nice if at least that part was real, like Jason and Molly.

IMO Arie is a player and is not looking for a long time commitment, just like Nick.

Referencing those unfortunate remarks about having a season of gays I thought JP got caught in a language quandary. English is his second language after all. I thought he was trying to express why it wouldn't fly in America and used a wrong term. I also think the show was super angry at him for not following the script and declaring love for Nikki. I have said many times that I believe JP was in love or close to it with Sharleen and when she self evicted JP lost all interest in the show and just went through the motions. And that infuriated production so they proceeded to nail him to the cross for insubordination. The producers certainly don't want a Bach who walks his own path.

I follow JP on sm and he is married to a beautiful woman, is a wonderful caring father and is enjoying a great life.

That's right. I remember now about JP's remarks. It was an innocent remark and some people took it the wrong way. I only remembered people were mad at him for something he said.

Yeah, what is the point of having such a long wrap up to this season since it is being so obviously manipulated? I don’t understand why these people are so interested in being drafted as the lead since ultimately whatever decent reputation they previously had is ripped to shreds by the end. Is it worth it? I have never seen so many instances of articles being written trashing the leads intent of doing the show as I have seen this season. Arie is turning into the butt of many jokes and snide comments. Again I ask, was it worth it? No way is he coming out of this unscathed.

Glad this season is almost over. Will only watch bits and pieces from tonight. I'm sure I can find something else to watch instead.

I haven't seen any of the jokes about Arie. I guess that is why I been able keep from knowing the outcome this season. After tonight though, I will want to know all the details. lol

I have never understood why any of these people, not just the leads, would want to go on this show and give them free reign of the story line that make them look crazy. I really wonder if any of them have been changed or wounded by their edit. Arie already had negative stories about him from Emily's season and yet he did it again.
