Elimination Predictions for Season 23

Week 1 is done, so based on tonight's performances, who do you think might be eliminated next week? There's still another week before the first elimination, but I'm curious of everyone's thoughts.

I think it might be Rick or Ryan.

I think Rick will go and sadly, we lose lovely Emma then too. Why, why, why can't she get a viable partner. Maureen is a possibility also, although the nostalgia factor will likely keep her safe a while. I think Ryan Lochte will have garnered a lot of sympathy votes last night and will stay several more weeks.

I'm going to risk a wild guess for Jake or Maureen to go first.

I think Jake is vulnerable because his straight face demeanor is confusing to new people; they think he is stand-offish if they have not seen him use it well for situational comedic effect. His fan base is probably not very large nor is Jenna's, though she may have increased hers through the most recent SYTYCD season.

Maureen may have a nostalgia fan base, but she came across as emotionally unstable, and that usually is the kiss of death on this show.

I think Rick may stick around for two weeks or more. He's got a Texas fan base and they can be very loyal and determined if they choose. Moreover, Rick is very open about totally enjoying this process, and we have seen in the past that if a guy is a bad dancer, his fans will keep him around if (1) he is personable and (2) it seems like he is having a lot of fun. Both things are true for Rick.

Psychee22 I agree with what you have said and I for one knew nothing of Jake before this show and was not impressed by him. As I stated somewhere on this board, I think in the Sky Box that Maureen drove me crazy (in a bad way) last night with her giddiness and that she did not act like a 60 year old woman but more like a 16 year old. I found it most unappealing and really don't care to see any more of her. I didn't think that Rick's dance was very good but at least he was trying and seemed to have fun and I'd much rather watch him than Maureen any day.

My prediction for Week 3 is that Ryan will be eliminated.

Maureen was visibly upset that she didn't get Immunity and couldn't seem to get over it. I noticed Val tried to comfort her. Not sure about her fan base, but Derek has one. I call safe
Amber really impressed me how gracious she was smiling and immediately congratulating Maureen. She might have a decent fan base, and of course the 'Sex on a Stick' for sure has one!! I call safe
Tera I imagine has a decent fan base and Sasha although I love the guy not sure about his, but I still call them safe.
Ryan...about the best thing I can say about him is he has Cheryl. Then there are the people that still feel sorry for him for what dwts put out there...I mean the protest on the first night. So safe.
Rick has Texas, possibly the Vets and republicans on his side I think. Like Ryan, Ricks his best asset is his pro the gorgeous, amazing Emma!!! Calling him safe.
That leaves me with Kenny 'BabyFace'. I love this guy, but last night was not one of his best performances.....couple that with not knowing about his fan base and not sure how much of one Aliison has.....they might be in trouble. I would be sad to see him go, but I'm going to say it might be him going home.

It might well be Ryan exiting. I think DWTS has gotten all the mileage they wanted out of him and he becomes expendable now.

By the way, I thought Cheryl simply danced and twirled around Ryan last night and he did pretty much nothing. Cheryl (and Derek) tend to do that with weak partners.

Kin, Marilu was upset because she had killed her dance during dress rehearsal and then choked during the performance and got lost a bit. She was very disappointed with herself. She's got a bit of an "Alexa" syndrome, I think.

Rick SHOULD go home, based on his dancing, but Rick's political machine has been working full time generating support for him and "stuffing the ballot box", according to some Texas newspapers. They have been quite funny about it.

So, I think Amber and Kenny are the celebs most likely to go home. Out of them, I will be sadder to see Kenny leave, as I think he has much more in him to show. I think ballroom dancing is more challenging for Amber.

You are probably right sis.
One thing I noticed between Marilu and Laurie, Marilu looked like she was holding on for dear life and hunched over a little bit and I think there was a mistake or two. Laurie had such a good frame and proper hand placement in hold she just seemed a lot more confident in the dance than Marilu....I think Marilu is to hung up on the fact she has Derek and wants to please him she's not as focused on just enjoying the dance and relaxing into it. Her hair and makeup were not flattering last night.

Yes I agree Marilu is tough on herself, more so than Derek is.
You are right about Rick also.
I agree also with you about Amber or Kenny. I really think Allison can do more with Kenny, dance wise than Maks can with Amber, but it is nice to see her having a good time and maks has a lot to do with that! Very Happy

Yes, he's pretty bad. But he has a whole political machine from Texas voting for him. I think it is possible that several better dancers will go home before he does, but I hope I am wrong about that.

This reminds me of the season Hope was on and they had she and maks in jeopardy every week.............BS!!! Of course we can never have the 'special one' in the bottom three......yes there I said it.

Happy I was wrong. Even though I enjoyed watching his energetic efforts, he was the weakest dancer of the bunch left. But apparently this result could have easily been different... voting numbers were so close that the producers had to wait until the very last vote came in before they could determine who would be eliminated.

Some have suggested that his voting constituency may have been sidetracked by the debate. I think it would be fair to imagine that more of his supporters would be distracted by that political event than that of the other celebs.

Seeing Amber in that last jeopardy place ought to motivate her supporters to vote harder for her. The producers use that spot to generate more support for a celeb that they hope to keep around longer.
