Week 3, Season 23
All-New ‘Face Off’ Night Comes to ABC’s ‘Dancing with the Stars,’ September 26
THE 12 REMAINING CELEBRITIES ARE PITTED AGAINST EACH OTHER IN ORDER TO KEEP THEMSELVES IMMUNE FROM ELIMINATION, AS ALL-NEW “FACE OFF” NIGHT COMES TO ABC’S ‘DANCING WITH THE STARS,’ SEPTEMBER 26
Florida Georgia Line – CMA Award Winners for Vocal Duo of the Year – and Fitz and The Tantrums Perform, and One Couple Will Be Eliminated on ‘Dancing with the Stars: The Results,’ September 27
“Episode 2303” – An exciting, brand-new theme night comes to the show, as the 12 remaining celebrities find themselves pitted against each other in a quest to keep themselves immune from elimination, as Face Off night comes to “Dancing with the Stars,” live, MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 26 (8:00-9:00 p.m. EDT), on the ABC Television Network. Two couples will each be tasked with dancing the same dance style, but to different songs. After each couple dances, they will receive their scores from the judges, who will comment on the highs and lows of each dance for each Face Off. The couple with the highest score will find themselves immune from elimination, but the other couple will be in jeopardy. At the end of the night, the six low scoring couples will rely on the viewers’ votes to help save them, and one of those couples will be eliminated on Tuesday night’s results show.
The Face-Off Parings Are as Follows:
Jana Kramer & Gleb Savchenko – Jive – “Too Many Fish in the Sea” by Bette Midler
Kenny “Babyface” Edmonds & Allison Holker – Jive – “Great Gosh A’Mighty” by Little Richard
Laurie Hernandez & Valentin Chmerkovskiy – Tango – “Into the Sunset” (Headhunterz Radio Edit) by Crystal Lake featuring Kifi
Marilu Henner & Derek Hough – Tango – “Battle Cry” by Imagine Dragons
James Hinchcliffe & Sharna Burgess – Cha Cha – “Big Trouble” by Outasight
Ryan Lochte & Cheryl Burke – Cha Cha – “If It Ain’t Love” by Jason Derulo
Calvin Johnson Jr. & Lindsay Arnold – Viennese Waltz – “Woman’s World” by BJ The Chicago Kid
Terra Jolé & Sasha Farber – Viennese Waltz – “Iris” by The Goo Goo Dolls
Maureen McCormick & Artem Chigvintsev – Salsa – “Tres Deseos” (“Three Wishes”) by Gloria Estefan
Amber Rose & Maksim Chmerkovskiy – Salsa – “Booty” by Jennifer Lopez featuring Iggy Azalea
Vanilla Ice (Robert Van Winkle) & Witney Carson – Paso Doble – “Save Tonight” by Zayde Wølf
Rick Perry & Emma Slater – Paso Doble – “Tamacun” by Rodrigo Y Gabriela
No couples will be eliminated on this episode.
“Episode 2303A” – The second elimination of the season will take place on “Dancing with the Stars: The Results,” live, TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 27 (8:00-10:01 p.m. EDT), on the ABC Television Network. Based on the viewers’ votes and the judges’ scores from last night’s show, one of the six low-scoring couples from Face Off night will be exiting the ballroom. Florida Georgia Line, CMA Award winners for Vocal Duo of the Year, will perform their number one hits “Cruise” and “H.O.L.Y.,” and Fitz and The Tantrums will perform “HandClap,” from their self-titled album. Viewers will also have a chance to see the couples’ dances from the previous night one more time. The show will be packed with never-before-seen footage, including extended training packages, exclusive interviews with the couples and judges, and a glimpse of what’s to come on week four of “Dancing with the Stars.”
At the end of the night, the second elimination of the season, based on combined viewer and judges’ scores from September 26, will take place.
Hosted by two-time Emmy-winning host Tom Bergeron and Erin Andrews (sports host and “Dancing with the Stars” season 10 finalist), “Dancing with the Stars” is the hit series in which celebrities perform choreographed dance routines which are judged by a panel of renowned ballroom experts, including head judge, Len Goodman, dancers/choreographers Bruno Tonioli, Carrie Ann Inaba and Julianne Hough.
For week three, viewers may cast their votes for their favorite couples from the six low scoring couples via phone on Monday night during and up to 60 minutes after the end of the “Dancing with the Stars” broadcast in each time zone. My predictions for immunity:
Jana, Laurie, James, Calvin, Maureen, and Vanilla Ice.

Re: Week 3, Season 23
Hmm... I would guess V.Ice, Calvin, and James, but the other three are less easy to predict.
Marilu might surprise with a tango, Kenny and Jana are both good, and I actually expect Amber to beat out Maureen since she's dancing to "Booty".

Mostly agree with you Walker, except I think the Maureen/Amber face off will result in immunity for Amber & Maks. I'm pretty confident TPTB want Maks around a while longer and they've never worried overly much about Artem.Walker7 wrote:My predictions for immunity:

Someone's got a warped sense of humour giving Amber the song "Booty".

I would expect nothing less than them giving her booty I just hope Maks goes traditional and not real raunchy!

Re: Week 3, Season 23
Amber is sort of known as a queen of twerking... it would surprise me if we did not see at least a few seconds of that.

Re: Week 3, Season 23
My impressions of this night:
1. Good result. The weakest dancer went home.
2. Kym totally rocked the hostess spot. And looked gorgeous as always while doing it.
3. Every pro on the show got a chance to dance tonight except Derek. He spent two hours doing nothing much more than waiting and observing. As hyperactive as he is, it must have been difficult for him.

Re: Week 3, Season 23
So far, the elimination order this season has been pretty good.
I'm still hoping that sometime, Emma will get someone who actually deserves to go a long way.

I thought I saw him in the back of one of the pro dances , but I just watched it again... it was another short guy.
So you are right! Sasha was left cooling his heels last night as well.
