SEVEN REMAINING COUPLES COMPETE FOR IMMUNITY DURING "LATIN NIGHT" ON "DANCING WITH THE STARS," MONDAY, APRIL 29
Latin Music Superstar Juanes to Perform Monday Michael Bublé to Perform on "Dancing with the Stars the Results Show," Tuesday, April 30
"Episode 1607 & 1607A" - It's Latin Night on "Dancing with the Stars," as seven remaining couples take to the ballroom floor and perform to a Latin-inspired hit, MONDAY, APRIL 29 (8:00-10:01 p.m., ET). In a new twist and another "Dancing with the Stars" first, the couple with the highest overall score for the night will be granted immunity from elimination on Tuesday. The couples who do not receive immunity will then compete in a dance-off to earn extra judges' points in an effort to increase their overall score. The show will also feature music by Grammy winner and Spanish language rock artist Juanes, who will perform a medley of his hits, including "La Camisa Negra" and "Cumbia Sexy." On TUESDAY, APRIL 30, one couple will be eliminated on "Dancing with the Stars the Results Show" (9:00-10:01 p.m., ET). The show will feature music by Michael Bublé who will perform "Come Dance with Me" off his new album, "To Be Loved." The show will also feature its second "AT&T Spotlight Performance" of the season, focusing on youth organization the Camden Sophisticated Sisters and its founder, Tawanda Jones. The program, located in Camden, New Jersey, provides an opportunity for young women to learn discipline and cooperation and to gain a sense of achievement through drill team competition. This "Spotlight Performance" will feature an inspiring routine by eight members of the organization. In addition, "Macy's Stars of Dance" returns for its fourth installment of the season. Choreographed and performed by Allison Holker and Stephen "tWitch" Boss, the dance will feature musical accompaniment by violinist and youtube sensation Lindsey Stirling. With six solo albums to his credit and multi-platinum sales of over 16 million copies, Juanes is the world's leading all-Spanish language rock artist. The multiple Grammy and Latin Grammy winner is also frequently recognized as one of the Spanish-speaking world's leading social media voices, with an online following of over 12 Million fans. Recorded during a special evening at the Frank Gehry-designed New World Symphony space in Miami, "Juanes MTV Unplugged" was released on May 29, 2012 and quickly debuted at No. 1 on Billboard's "Top Latin Albums" chart and in 18 countries throughout Latin America. The CD/DVD finds Juanes collaborating with Latin music legend Juan Luis Guerra, who acted as music director, and sharing duets with special guests Joaquín Sabina and Paula Fernandes. The album's first single, "La Señal," likewise reached No. 1 on the Hot Latin Songs chart, giving Juanes the 8th No. 1 song of his career. In November, "Juanes MTV Unplugged" won this year's Latin Grammy Awards for Album of the Year and Best Long Form Music Video - giving Juanes an impressive career total of 19 Latin Grammys, more than any other solo artist. The accolades for the album have contiinued, as Juanes just won this year's Grammy for Best Latin Pop Artist and was the only Latin artist to perform on both The Grammy Award broadcast and the MusiCares tribute to Bruce Springsteen. Three-time Grammy winner Michael Bublé's highly anticipated new studio album, "To Be Loved," was released on April 23, 2013. "To Be Loved" is Bublé's sixth studio album following his "Christmas" CD, which sold seven million copies internationally and was the No. 2 biggest selling album of 2011. Produced by Bob Rock, "To Be Loved" was recorded in Vancouver and Los Angeles and includes a mix of standards as well as four original songs, all co-written by Bublé. Hosted by Tom Bergeron ("America's Funniest Home Videos") and Brooke Burke-Charvet ("Dancing with the Stars" Season 7 champion), the celebrities perform choreographed dance routines which will be judged by renowned ballroom judge Len Goodman and dancer/choreographers Bruno Tonioli and Carrie Ann Inaba. ABC.com is back with a new web series, "Dancing with the Stars: Pre-Show," presented by AT&T. Re: Seventh Week Press Release
Thanks for posting this, SLA. Sounds like ABC is trying to find new gimmicks to keep interest in the show. I'd be interested to know if they are still drawing big audiences. Anyone know?

Last I heard The Voice had higher ratings than they did. One thing that concerns me with this new twist is it assures that favorite to be safe as they are the ones that will give one couple the highest score. I do not like this new twist at all. Let the viewer's vote for all of them - this is not Survivor so what is with the immunity? At least on survivor they have to win immunity on their own - with this new twist the judges are awarding immunity to the one couple they want - personally I'm not liking this at all.

You have a valid point, but I think with this show I'm coming to the point where I am tired of it all. LOL.

I certainly agree with you on that one newto - this season has not been good at all and it seems like each season has just gotten worse with maybe the exception of the All Star season. I know I have lost interest in it except I really enjoy Kellie and if it wasn't for her I wouldn't probably even have watched this long.

Re: Seventh Week Press Release
I'm thinking the immunity is much like what they have on other shows like Best Ink and Project Runway. Like a gold star acing you through the next test. And the dance-off may be designed to keep stars who are really better dancers but haven't the fan base. Wasn't it Sabrina who dropped jaws when she left? I see the point in doing the dance-off.
When I saw that Buble was going to sing "To Be Loved," I thought it was going to be a remake of the old Jackie Wilson song - which won't leave my head now *sigh*, but I checked on Bing and it's not the same song.
I've seen so much about this season not be as good. Personally, I don't have any negatives about it. I'm actually liking it. And while I sometimes get tired of Brooke's "How did it feel?", I absolutely LOVE the gowns she wears. They make me wish I was still young and slim and could wear one of them. lol

Re: Seventh Week Press Release
I have seen the dance offs before where the longer they remain on the dance floor the more additional points they get - the immunity for elimination is the new twist.

Re: Seventh Week Press Release
ABC is calling it a "Face Off," and it's a new twist as well. Here's another blurb from ABC about it:
"Also on the agenda for Latin Night, the remaining seven couples will dance to Latin hits. After each couple has danced, the top couple based on judges’ scores will be safe from elimination for the week. The remaining six couples will then take part in the Dance Off, where they’ll compete against another couple doing the cha-cha, jive or rumba. For each of the three face-offs, the judges will declare a winning team, who’ll be able to add three bonus points to their score."
So three couples will each receive 3 bonus points, and each pair of couples will be doing a different dance for their face-off. According to Derek's blog, it sounds like the face-off will be on Tuesday night. It also sounds like the couples will get to pick who they want to face off against. So the second-highest scoring couple picks their opponent, and then the next highest-scoring couple. But no one seems to know how it will be determined which dance each pair of couples is doing.
I have to say I've been really enjoying this season (although missing Maks and now Tristan). I liked all of the celebs to a greater or lesser degree, and with the exception of D.L., who I was more than ready to see go when he left, I've been sorry to see them leave. Even the Real Housewife seemed like a decent sort.

Re: Seventh Week Press Release
Sounds to me like the producers are grabbing at straws. If Sean goes home tomorrow night, I'm done with the season. I am finding this program less and less appealing as time goes by.

Re: Seventh Week Press Release
Okay this will be different the dance offs they have had in the past. No wonder they had to learn so many dances this time. And maybe it is not the same for me this year because I really miss Maks and the only new pro that I like at all is Sharna. It will be interesting to see how the dance off plays out but I am still not that crazy about this season. I watched it mainly because of Sean being on there and Kellie is the only celeb that I am really enjoying watching - JMO.
