newto, I don't think Lifetime would submit to any pressure if the ratings are good for UnREAL.

Last night, I was confused at Rachel using Anna's footage.  Her character is so resigned to following orders, despite how she feels about them.  She seemed genuinely concerned about getting Anna to the funeral and sympathetic to her plight.  Yet...to get that money, she threw her under the bus.  Surprised the writers are having her manipulate for her own benefit.  Doesn't really make sense to me.  If I had a breakdown due to manipulations of the show, I can't see how I'd do it for myself.  ???

What on earth does Quinn see in that slob of a creator?  Forget the gorgeous wife.  He looks like a sweaty, unkempt slob.

Despite my apathy for Sean's season, I like the Sean-like bachelor.

Sadly, I seem to "crap out" at 10 o'clock and therefore have not seen any of the show.  I keep forgetting to record it.

That was my point, rkc.  Rachel is (as they put it) soul-sucked at having to hurt these contestants.  YET, she manipulated the film of Anna to get the $5,000 so she could pay off her own blackmailing ex-roommate.  That was for personal gain, not for the show.

Plot-wise, I wonder if this show is really going to give us much to talk about.  ???

Okay...Chet goes through with announcing a divorce.  Next, he stages a romantic proposal to Quinn because he loves her SO much.  Then....he gets a BJ from an intern??????  Puh-leez!  That was beyond believable.  He should still be feeling the afterglow of his engagement to Quinn.  Six months later, maybe.  But the timing was just too "off."  Or are the writers  trying to emphasize what a sleaze he is?

Does anyone think Rachel will end up having Adam pull her into the FRC (or diamond bracelet ceremony) and propose to her instead of one of his contestants?

I am absolutely hooked on this show!

yes, they were showing what a sleaze he is, and how he exploited the fact that the intern was willing to do anything to be in the business (remember how she said she didn't care that Quinn talked to her like trash?)  What I couldn't figure out is why Quinn took her ring off, then told him she wanted to get married right away.  I've only seen episodes 5 through the present so I don't know all the backstories, but I've got them set to record! Love this show!

I wondered about that, too, Slackn.  Perhaps all will be revealed tonight.

I have a feeling Quinn's got a big surprise for Chet.

Quinn had big surprises for everyone, in fact.

OK, so Quinn is going to lower the boom on Chet.  And she has set Adam and Rachel up to see things her way or she'll put out the tape of them having sex.  That would ruin things for Rachel with Jeremy.

Meanwhile, Adam wants Rachel to run off with him.  Tune in next week for the exciting season finale or, as they say in reality TV, the most amazing conclusion ever!

Rachel really can't catch a break, can she?

It seems no one on this show can get away with anything.  lol.  Chet's BJ is witnessed by Quinn.  Quinn's efforts to get Madison to file a lawsuit is reported to Chet by the older woman.  Rachel is caught on film with Adam.  Yikes.

And poor Rachel is going to end up in a psych ward if the pressure and guilt doesn't let up.

No kidding, Singly.  And then there's Rachel's mother...

I love this show. I missed last night's episode, but I can catch it here on the web.  Quinn is so evil!  I just want to reach thru the screen and slap her silly!  Do love Rachel and Adam together.

This is seriously the best show on t.v. (right now).  I am so hooked!  Every week it just keeps getting better and better (and darker and darker). 

How accurate do you guys think all of this is to what really goes on behind the ABC Bachelor?

ATN, I'm guessing it's pretty darned close.

UnREAL Is 'Terrible,' Bachelor Host Chris Harrison Incorrectly Claims

Who snuck sour grapes into Chris Harrison's lunchbox? In a new interview, the Bachelor host tears into UnREAL  — Lifetime’s fictional behind-the-scenes look at a reality dating show — with some choice words for the drama.


“The main difference that I’ve seen is that people watch The Bachelor,” Harrison tells our sister publication Variety. “It’s complete fiction. As much as they would love to jump on our coattails — they were begging for us to talk about it and for people to write about it — at the end of the day, no one is watching. I mean, absolutely nobody is watching that show. Why? It is terrible. It is really terrible.”

To Harrison’s credit, The Bachelor averaged 8 million viewers last season, and The Bachelorette this season averaged south of 7 million weekly viewers, up 4 percent from its previous cycle. Airing at 10 o’clock, UnREAL draws a tenth of that — averaging 700,000 viewers and peaking at 815K (with its series launch).


That said, the Lifetime drama was co-created by former Bachelor producer Sarah Shapiro, who might know a thing or two about what goes on behind closed doors. As for the show being “terrible,” its critical acclaim and early Season 2 renewal say otherwise.

“You only do that when you are part of the vernacular,” Harrison adds, comparing UnREAL to Bachelor spoofs on Saturday Night Live. “If not, you can’t make a joke. It’s a sign of respect. The way that UnREAL took it, it wasn’t a sign of respect. They were trying to take it another direction, but it doesn’t work that way.”

Hey Chris Harrison!  I'm watching it and I LOVE it!  It is the best show on t.v. this summer!  It's a heck of a lot better than ABC's show!  

I wish more people knew about it.  I only started watching because Space made a thread about it.
