This show is getting weirder by the day.  I fell asleep around 9:30 PM my time, so I didn't get to see if there was another rose ceremony.  If so, who went home?

Nope, no other rose ceremony. Doesn't surprise me. It's their new gimmick. It just ended with Ian being an ass right before the rose ceremony.

Both one on one dates were uneventful. Thank God considering the season they have been putting out. First one on one was with Ben H. and they went country dancing. The second one on one was with Shawn. They went kayaking. She seems to have the best connection with Shawn and then he dropped the L bomb. A little too soon but oh well.

Group date was they had to write a song and sing it to her with a Mariachi Band. No one could sing very well. Nick took her up on a balcony to sing his song and sang a line that was pretty inappropriate considering children were around. Later on in the group date there was the big blow-up with Joshua and it just got weird. Joshua needs to stop taking the fact that Nick is there so personally because it doesn't make him look good, but at the same time those guys know they have been having many conversations about it and they didn't own up to it. On a side note, that part where he had Kaitlyn cut his hair and only one side got cut, don't you think someone on the crew should have cut the other side? Did you notice at the rose ceremony that he still only had one side cut? What's up with that? lol

I think Ian saw the writing on the wall that he wasn't having Kaitlyn swooning like he apparently thought so instead of letting her dump him he was going to beat her to the punch. The arrogance this dude has is pretty astounding. He has got it all mixed up. He is listing his qualities as good school, good job, ex model, good looking, get's all the sex he wants....but what he seems to not comprehend for being "so smart" is that while those things are a plus, they are not the qualities that attract someone that isn't on the shallow side and just want you for your money or looks. When you are looking for someone for long term you want someone that is kind, generous, funny...someone that has a nice personality, not an arrogant personality. That little gem he threw out about Kaitlyn not being half as hot as his ex girlfriend...ummm...and why is she your EX then? She got tired of your arrogant attitude too? SMH. He could have made his little speech to Kaitlyn less like an attach but chose to be as mean as possible. What an arrogant, pompous piece of shit.

rks -- Great post, as usual!!  Beer

Inappropriate, a word you used, describes the entire season, so far as I am concerned.  I love Kaitlyn because she is her own person, but this is the raunchiest season ever.  And yet I watch....two hours of mindless entertainment at the end of the day where I neither need to think nor make decisions.

TV, in general, finally seems to have booked a room in hell this season.  It's playing to a new generation of youngsters who wouldn't know quality if it slapped them between the eyes.  From what I'm reading of the 'ette, we've sunk to new lows.

America's Got Talent showed a guy diving out of helicopter, another crashing buses, and a third riding a water jet.  Talent???

SYTYCD has added street performers as legitimate dancers.  Oy.  Those old mystery reruns are looking better and better.

I agree with you both. Raunchy television seems to be the direction that it's going. Used to be that if you wanted to watch that crap you had the likes of Jerry Springer. Have we really sunk that low as a society that this is what the majority crave? Thank God for the older TV channels and I also have a collection of DVD's and Blue rays from good movies of the past. You usually have to search them out over the internet because even stores tend to mostly sell the newer, raunchier stuff. (Sigh) oh to be young again and in simpler times. I miss my youth, and I don't mean just because I had no wrinkles and was thinner then. lol

If you think the Bach/ette franchise has gone to h*** in a handbasket, the recent series Married at First Sight Season 2 was even worse.  OMG I am so sorry I got involved with that train wreck.

I've never tuned into that show, newto.  The blonde woman they feature in the promos is very familiar.  I keep wanting to think her name is Heidi, but I'm probably wrong.  Where have I seen her before?

I recall the judgment of the elders when the hippies began the sexual revolution back in the 60's and 70's.  Today, TPTB are leading the young away from any sense of morals and values.  For me, disdain is a better alternative than anti-depressants.  lol.  Seriously, it wouldn't surprise me to see promos for animal sex and/or televised executions.

There are two blonde women in the Married at First Sight promos.  Both of them are part of the so-called experts who matched these people.  Neither of them impressed me.  The show is over; all three of the couples have split up, one woman has filed a restraining order against her "husband."  I will not watch the third season, which is being filmed in Atlanta even as we speak.

Even cable TV for which we are paying has turned into a load of c***.  I get movies from the public library; most of them are oldies but goodies which I've either never seen or forgot the plots.

Guess we should get back to the topic at hand.

Before we get back to the topic at hand, I made an amazing discovery this morning.  If you've ever had a problem with hairspray buildup on your bathroom floor, this is for you.  When I finished with the shower walls, I started on the bathroom floor.  Thought "what the hell" and sprayed Scrubbing Bubbles on the problem area.  MAGIC!!!!!

Interesting.  I haven't used hair spray in eons.  But it's a good hint.

LOL...I had to laugh, Singly....for a second there it sounded like you were doing a commercial for Scrubbing Bubbles  Laughing

Newto, I will also throw something in before getting back to the topic at hand. I too have watched both seasons of Married At First Sight. The only reason I watched the first season to begin with was because Jamie Otis from Ben's season was on there and curiosity got the best of me. Her and Doug are so cute together and I'm glad they are still married, same for Jason and Cortney. It surprised me and I'm sure others were surprised that it was actually interesting the first season and it ended up being a surprise hit and so they did a second season. This second season was obviously not as successful, at least from a couple stance. From my understanding they took less time this season to couple the partners up and I think that may have been their downfall. I really think the experts have these contestants best interests at heart because the couple failures are their failures as well. I think it is the producers that probably gave them a shorter time frame then last time and that is where they messed up. Success of a show makes producers act stupid.

The big talk this season of course was Ryan and Jessica. People are blaming the experts for not catching the fact that he is a hot tempered, sometimes scary dude. The problem is that if someone doesn't have a documented medical history of psychological issues and no police record for violence then even the experts can easily fooled by a manipulative sociopath that acts normal in front of them. When they had Ryan and Jessica in the hot seat for the finale, the experts looked physically pained by what was transpiring. I think they feel responsible even though they were fooled by him. It was the show that actually helped her with the restraining order and I'm sure they will continue to help until they think he is no more threat to her. He threatened her on camera so he would have to be stupid to carry out his threat because he would be the first person they'd suspect. Hopefully all of this will die down now that they are out of the public eye. The big problem is that the public was lambasting him on social media and that set him off, also because it was apparently upsetting him family. As we have all seen, the viewers can be brutal and in this case it just made a bad situation more explosive.

Sean and Davina, not sure what to think of them. I don't think she was willing to bend and I'm thinking that may be why Sean pulled away and wanted to live apart from her. It could also be why he never wanted to consummate the marriage. She was confusing, She said she didn't want to have sex with him until there was love involved and then complained that he didn't want to have sex with her. I just got the sense that she put herself on a pedestal and was a bit of a princess.

Ryan and Jaclyn, I think they were cute together. The producers did play a part in making it "appear" they were going for a second chance at the finale but that really wasn't the case by all reports. He messed it up and I don't blame her for saying no to him wanting that chance. He didn't make the effort and it seems to me from what I saw that he couldn't seem to make that break from his Mom and niece. That is a part of marriage, and it used to be in the marriage vows....at least it used to be. They may have changed overs the years because people don't like the original vows and change them as times goes on.

I'll get off the subject now, but I think that they need to go back to the original formula of taking their time with the matching.

rkc -- I agree with almost everything you said, including the fact that when producers have success, they seem to screw it up.

I think when the next season comes on, I'll make a separate topic for MAFS.  The third season is now filming; after this debacle I question how many will even watch it, or maybe the producers might just put the "film in the can" so to speak and not air it.

There's a great deal of discussion on the "other" bach/ette site in much more detail and, of course, speculation.  All I can say is "what a disaster."  Don't know if I will watch season 3.

Yes, that would be good to have the separate topic on here for Married At First Sight.

I think people will watch it in spite of how this season played out. You will have some, like us that want to hope for the best....and then you have the ones that think the drama is the best part, sort of the same ones that like all of the drama on The Bachelor/ette. I'm just hoping this show doesn't play up all the craziness like they do on the other. People liked it and watched it the first season for a reason. Hopefully that fact will stick in the minds of these producers. Not liking the fact that they are already filming the third season. That tells me that they rushed the pairing along as they did this season. Not a good sign.
