Mischa and Artem Empty Mischa and Artem

For some reason I don't connect with Mischa. She does seem very closed off, as the judges suggested. I hoped Artem might land a good one this season, destined to last a while but that seems doubtful.

I agree Glitters!  I think nerves got the best of her tonight.  I also agree with you Lesallee.  She WAS very hard to connect with...but I hope that improves with some time and less jitters!

I had no problem connecting with her. She was terrified, I got it. She'd still have been middle of the pack any other season; just not this time. Plus: Tango in week one? What?

I know, right?  It seems really unfair to give teams in Week 1 dances like the tango, quickstep, and jive.  Although most of the teams pulled off those dances last night, they would be even better if they were performed later in the season.

I appreciated Erin's words to Mischa about how excited she was personally to see her on the show, and how she really wanted her to have a good experience. No matter where Mischa places, I hope that she will be able to look back and be glad she took the chance.

Not very good. And her attitude is rather poor. Artem looks immensely discouraged.  Scores were fair, even a bit generous.

I wouldn't say her attitude was poor. She was on the edge of tearing up during the judges' comments. Artem has not really connected with her yet. That could be her downfall.

             Artem does seem a little off on this partnership.  She seemed so much taller than him in this dance that to me it looked a little awkward.

I feel sorry for her as Len was unduly hard on her. There's a way to say things with a much nicer attitude. Bruno does it all the time. She was trying not to cry.

A more relaxed and happier Mischa turned in a much better performance. Probably too late but much improved.

It was predictable she would leave- not that I'm happy with it. If only she had danced like that from the start.
