Julianne Out as Judge ....

Seems Len is coming back and Julianne is out as a judge.

Some will be glad I guess.I do like Len,Julianne was just kind of hum-drum for me.

If JH is out, that would mean her contract is now fulfilled and she didn't sign a new one.
She has been growing on me during her time at the table, but if three is the limit (which imo is better for the show), I still prefer Len. Last season though Julianne did better than Carrie Ann. But I don't really believe replacing CA is an option. Anyway, Len's return is more important. He's the only one who can rein in Derek.

I agree with you brother on everything except reigning in Derek. He gets tough then backs down towards the final, if Derek is with the one that is suppose to win.

You may have a point there. But not even Len can do it on his own... At least he keeps requesting the basics (footwork, hold, content), and isn't carried away by performance alone.
Regarding Julianne, it seems Oakma is right. Read it on Wetpaint as well as US Weekly.

I do like that Len insists on some structure to the dances.Since introducing contemporary we are seeing too many freestyle routines on the show .... in my opinion.

I love to see a true dance,not always a contemporary with an "influence" of ballroom or latin.

Another tendency that Len rightfully criticizes is the use of additional dancers in the individual rounds. At least in ballroom, there should be just the couple on the floor. Otherwise there's too much distraction (which may be intended though). For some Latin and modern dances it's acceptable.
How boring if we found nothing to complain...

I like a group dance,if teams are involved.I agree that additional dancers are a distraction.

I guess you are right that sometimes that is the whole point ...

Hey sis!!! I actually liked Julianne, but no room for four judges, IMO ,and good ol' Lenny definitely 'rules' over Jules!!! Giggle

I thought Lens 'swan song' was when he danced with the lovely Anastasia (Nastia) Liukin.

Four judges can actually work if there's time enough and their comments have substance, but DWTS isn't Strictly. Maybe at the time Len himself thought it would be his swan song with the knee surgery coming up, but apparently it went better than he expected. After that particular dance (which I also found touching), it clearly showed how much love and respect everyone else on the show had for him. I mean, there wasn't a dry eye in the ballroom- Erin even had a box of Kleenex ready. Maybe that also helped changing his mind.

Good to see Len coming back. I was okay with Julianne. Apart from Len she was perhaps the only other judge to offer technique advice to the teams. I thought she did a good job as Sandy in the recent Grease Live on Fox, so I wish her good luck on her next projects.
