Season 19 Week 3
Dancing with the Stars Season 19, Week 3 – Who’s Dancing What….and When? (Song Spoilers)
This week, as people who are site members might be aware, we have a lot of info, but a lot of it isn’t really clear yet. It’s still a work in progress. Here’s the parts we’re fairly sure of:
ETA: I totally called this one on Twitter yesterday – Singing in the Rain by Derek Hough? Perfect. Now is it that actual song? I’m assuming yes.
ETA2: The subtle-as-a-sledgehammer hints continue at the DancingABC Instagram Mike’s Twitter, as he pretty much confirms he’s gonna be Robin Hood.
ETA3: So, Len said during this past Monday’s show that Alfonso was doing V.Waltz, but his wife says he’s doing quickstep.
ETA4: We’re kinda doubting that Alfonso’s wife is right…
ETA5: …and I’m sure you can see why now No clue what the hell he & Witney are gonna do to this song…I’ve listened to it at least 10 times, and cannot find any strong semblance of a foxtrot or quickstep rhythm. It’s a tad fast for a foxtrot, but not even enough for quickstep…who knows. But I’m sure whatever it is – Alfonso’s gonna put on a helluva show Looks like Jonathan’s Mean Girls song didn’t clear so he ended up with his 2nd choice. I have to wonder if they’re bending the rules a bit and going with the Amy Winehouse version, though, as the Beyonce version is rather slow. Looks like “Pour Some Sugar on Me” was a safety song – but part of me kinda wants to see the pros dance to it instead And a different source confirmed that Bethany & Derek’s dance style is jazz – with quite a bit of tap influence -Court-
ETA6: ZOMG PLOT TWIST LOLZ!!!! Apparently “I Feel Pretty” is now off the table – and Vajanel has been seen rehearsing to “America” instead. Wondering if Val may have jumped the gun on confirming they had cleared “I Feel Pretty” – either that, or “I Feel Pretty” wasn’t working out, and they asked to switch songs (after switching dances already, mind you). Food for thought – draw your own conclusions. Confirmed Betsey & Alfonso’s dances – Tony is apparently doing some gorgeous lifts with Betsey, so they do, indeed, have contemporary; and Alfonso’s old lady was right – he is doing quickstep. How? I’m not sure…but I’m certainly intrigued.
Janel and Val – Jazz (song: “I Feel Pretty” “America” from West Side Story )
Vote: 1-800-868-3405
Jonathan and Allison - Tango (song: “Back to Black” by Beyonce & Andre 3000, from The Great Gatsby)
Vote: 1-800-868-3406
Betsey and Tony – Contemporary (song: “Unchained Melody” by The Righteous Brothers, from Ghost)
Vote: 1-800-868-3404
Lea and Artem – Cha Cha (song: “Power of Love” by Huey Lewis & The News, from Back to the Future)
Vote: 1-800-868-3407
Michael and Emma – Waltz (song: “(Everything I Do) I Do For You” by Bryan Adams, from Robin Hood)
Vote: 1-800-868-3409
Randy and Karina – Paso Doble (song: “Eye of the Tiger” by Survivor, from Rocky III)
Vote: 1-800-868-3410
Tommy and Peta – Argentine tango (song: “Por Una Cabeza” from Scent of a Woman)
Vote: 1-800-868-3413
Alfonso and Whitney – Quickstep (song: “Hey Goldmember” by Beyonce, from Austin Powers in Goldmember)
Vote: 1-800-868-3401
Bethany and Derek – Jazz (song: “Singing in the Rain” from Singing in the Rain)
Vote: 1-800-868-3403
Antonio and Cheryl – Foxtrot (song: “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough” by Marvin Gaye & Tammi Terrell, fromGuardians of the Galaxy)
Vote: 1-800-868-3402
Sadie and Mark – Viennese waltz (song: “Married Life” , from Up)
Vote: 1-800-868-3411
And this is info that we have, but we don’t know who it goes with:
Rock of Ages (song: “Pour Some Sugar on Me” by Def Leppard) – samba
ETA: Derek says their movie is “super iconic, especially for dance, it doesn’t usually clear.” He said none of his former partners (or his sister) have been in it and it’s an “older film. A Classic.” I believe he said it’s older than Dirty Dancing, but I would have to listen to the interview again.
ETA2: We know that “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough” is on the list but couldn’t figure out what movie it’s from until one of our members mentioned Guardians of the Galaxy. Also keep in mind that not all of the songs might get used…
ETA3: Given how coy Antonio & Cheryl acted when asked about Guardians of the Galaxy in their interview with George, and after talking it over with Deep Throat – we feel pretty confident that Antonio has “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough”. Now the question is: will he don a tree suit to channel Groot, while Cheryl dresses up as the squirrel? Also possibly worth noting: Jonathan’s interview is only somewhat incoherent, but it sounds like they were trying to clear a song for him from Mean Girls, with a song from a movie with “party scenes” as a backup. Gatsby, perhaps? -Court

Re: Season 19 Week 3
Here's the latest from an ABC affiliate in Cleveland:
“Dancing with the Stars” will prove to be a blockbuster for some stars and a bomb for others because it’s Movie Night. The 11 remaining couples must not only perform one unlearned dance, but they have to reference a popular film.
Actor Alfonso Ribeiro and Witney will quickstep to a dance inspired by “Austin Powers: Goldmember.” I have no doubt their dance will be more entertaining than that film.
Actress Lea Thompson and Artem will cha cha in “Back to the Future” because of course. Thompson starred in the popular franchise 25 years ago and is in good hands with Artem.
Youtuber Bethany Mota and Derek will jazz to “Singin’ in the Rain.” With Derek’s choreography, that should be great, except Bethany is reportedly having ankle issues, so that could hamstring her performance.
“Duck Dynasty” star Sadie Robertson and Mark have a Viennese waltz inspired by the movie “Up.” It will be great to see how she tackles a more classical ballroom dance.
Actress Janel Parrish and Val also have a jazz inspired by “West Side Story.” That just takes this to whole new meta levels, right, A Team? Something to look for: see how much the show starts milking Janel and Val’s manufactured showmance.
Actor Jonathan Bennett and Allison will tango to “The Great Gatsby” – but which version, 1975 or 2013? (2013, obvi.) Just… thank God they won’t tango to “Last Tango in Paris.” Shivers. #butter
UFC fighter Randy Couture and Karina have a paso doble to “Eye of the Tiger” from “Rocky III.” That should work; Randy’s got the bravado for the paso doble.
Actor Antonio Sabato, Jr., and Cheryl have a foxtrot to a song used in “Guardians of the Galaxy.” Why not? Milk a summer hit for all the votes you can muster!
Stoner Tommy Chong and Peta have the Argentine tango to that classic dance scene from “Scent of a Woman.” If Tommy channels Al Pacino perfectly, that could be a routine to remember. Hoo-wah!
Race car driver Michael Waltrip and Emma will waltz to the 1991 “Robin Hood.” Michael’s only real asset in this dog race is his goofiness, which I can’t see him showcasing to “I Do It For You.”
Fashion designer Betsey Johnson and Tony have a contemporary dance to “Unchained Melody” from “Ghost.” Calling it now: This dance will need to be seen to be believed.
So who will go home? That’s an incredibly tough call. Last week, four couples all tied for second-to-bottom, and one of them went home – Tavis Smiley. The lowest scoring star, Betsey, survived due to entertainment value.
And that’s most likely what will determine who goes home Tuesday. Movie Night’s elimination will likely be decided by pure entertainment value and not scores. Whoever bombs will not get support. Michael has been getting by because he’s likeable, but if he doesn’t amp up the performance, he’s likely to be most at risk.

Re: Season 19 Week 3
And because they have to keep trying, here's something new that they're apparently trying tonight. It actually sounds like fun, but since I get home late on Mondays and have to catch up during the show, I usually only get to see the last half hour 'live' so I'll miss most of the chance to score.
9. How does the ‘You Raise The Paddle’ scoring app work?
This season on Dancing With The Stars we are giving you the opportunity to be the judge and score each couple alongside the judges during the East/Central broadcast of the show. Visit http://abc.go.com/shows/dancing-with-the-stars/you-raise-the-paddle at 8/7c to score the couples’ performances as they are showcased during the show. During the 9.29.14 episode your score will just be for fun and will have no impact on the couples’ real score.
You must be logged in to you Facebook account to score. You may score each couple only once.
The scoring windows for each couple will open at the start of their performance and remain open for 2 minutes and 15 seconds, so stay tuned and keep your ‘You Raise The Paddle’ page open. The page will update automatically when it’s time to score each couple.
During the scoring window for each couple, you will see boxes numbered 1 to 10. To score the couple, select a number (10 being the highest, 1 being the lowest) and select the Submit button. You will then see a page thanking you for your score with the option to share the fact you scored on Facebook or Twitter. You do not have to share your score for it to register.
You Raise The Paddle scoring will not be open outside of the East/Central broadcast, so if you are viewing the page outside of the 8-10p ET/7-9p CT times you will not be able to play along.
10. How will the scoring work?
During each scoring window, select a score (10 being the highest, 1 being the lowest) and submit it. At the end of the scoring window for each couple we will calculate an average score, taken from all the audience scores.

Re: Season 19 Week 3
Sounds like tonight should be an interesting night. Going down the list - my predictions:
Alfonso will do fine with the quickstep. Lea will be good with the cha cha. Bethany may struggle with jazz. Sadie will do fine with the V. Waltz. Janel will be good in the jazz. Jonathan should do well with the tango but will Allison let him shine or continue to overdance? I think the paso will be a good dance for Randy, but I'm not sure about Antonio and the foxtrot. I'm not expecting great things from Tommy with the A.Tango - I don't think he'll get the smolder or be that good with lifts. Michael might benefit from having the waltz. It's anybody's guess what Betsy will do with contemporary. I'm not holding out a lot of hope for that one.
Going home? I'm thinking Michael, Betsy or Tommy this week.

Re: Season 19 Week 3
The eleven remaining couples must perform one "unlearned" dance? What are they supposed to do, stumble through it? I don't get it.
I agree that Allison needs to tone it down a notch.
As for Betsey, consider this possibility for choreo: Unchained Melody, right? Okay, so Tony is dead and she's grown old since he passed. She still longs for him, "hungers for his touch." It is, after all, from the movie Ghost. I think it could play - and it could be moving. She's pretty agile and not too heavy to lift and throw around. I'm kind of anxious to see it. Hope I'm not disappointed with Tony's handling - or her ability to do it.
I got off of Facebook several years ago - found it too invasive. I wouldn't fire up the computer to do this anyway. Are the votes actually going to count for anything?
Talk to you tomorrow.

DANCING WITH THE STARS
RECAP FOR SEPTEMBER 29, 2014
Hello, and welcome to Dancing With The Stars on ABC. Tonight is movie night, which means our couples will be dancing to popular songs from their favorite films. always love these theme nights because they are so much fun!
We open with a group dance that looks like a tribute to Marilyn Monroe. Okay, then. I like Marilyn as much as the next person, but I don’t know why they only used her as opposed to other icons.
Anyway, Tom Bergeron and Erin Andrews introduce the judges. Actor and comedian Kevin Hart is filling in for Len Goodman.
Since there is no results show tomorrow, we start finding out results now. How can they have results when we already HAD the results show from last week’s dances? My head feels like it is going to explode from confusion. Just keep the results show!
Randy and Karina are in jeopardy and dancing first.
Celebrity: Randy Couture
Claim To Fame: MMA Fighter
Pro: Karina Smirnoff
Dance: Paso Doble
Song: Eye Of The Tiger from Rocky (of course it is!)
Commentary: It is certainly once if his best dances. He certainly put his all into it and it seems like he really listened to Karina and the judges when it came to stepping it up and improving.
Julianne: The timing was off and he lacks the first week charm. He also relies too much on Karina.
Bruno: He agrees on the timing and he offers advice on where to improve.
Carrie Ann: She is glad he listened to her advice from last week.
Kevin: He embraced it and was really into the routine.
Scores: 7-7-6-6=26 out of 40
Witney and Alfoso are SAFE, as are Betsey and Tony.
Celebrity: Alfonso Ribiero
Claim To Fame: Carlton on Fresh Prince
Pro: Witney Carson
Dance: Quickstep
Song: Hey, Goldmember from Austin Powers
Commentary: Is that little guy his son? That is so cute that they included him. The dance was spot on, fun and just entertaining through and through.
Bruno: He gives him advice on where to improve, but enjoyed it.
Carrie Ann: He was smooth and she is so impressed with him.
Kevin: He did ‘amazingly.’
Julianne: They do a great job, but offers advice on getting low.
Scores: 8-8-8-8=32 out of 40
Celebrity: Betsey Johnson
Claim To Fame: Fashion designer
Pro: Tony Dovolani
Dance: Contemporary
Song: Unchained Melody from Ghost
Commentary: Beautiful. Breathtaking. Dreamlike. That is all I can say. Her legs and lines are gorgeous and….can I just be her when I grow up? Please?
Carrie Ann: She loves it and compares her to the dancers. However, point the toes.
Kevin: Good job! He seems to really love her.
Julianne: Point the toes, but she loves it.
Bruno: No one can bend it like Betsey.
Scores: 7-9-6-7=29 out of 40.
More results. Michael and Emma are SAFE, as are Sadie and Mark. Antonio and Cheryl are in jeopardy. Lea and Artem are SAFE!
Celebrity: Lea Thompson
Claim To Fame: Back To The Future stat
Pro: Artem Chigventsev
Dance: Cha cha cha
Song: Power of Love from—you guessed it—Back To The Future
Commentary: The Dolorean and the prom scene! I love it! That was sexy, gorgeous and just so much fun to watch. She really has control of her leg movements and she just seems so joyous as she dances.
Kevin: He loves her joy and thinks she did a good job.
Julianne: Her hand slipped, but otherwise she did well.
Bruno: Her legs were great.
Carrie Ann: It was not her best dance.
Scores: 7-8-8-8=31 out of 40
Celebrity: Michael Waltrip
Claim To Fame: Racecar driver
Pro: Emma Slater
Dance: Waltz
Song: (Everything I Do) I Do It For You from Robin Hood
Commentary: He seems to want this so badly and to do well for Emma. He is still a bit stiff, but overall, he is slowly improving. This is one of his best dances, not only because of the proper technique, but because go the emotion behind it.
Julianne: His best dance ever.
Bruno: Great job.
Carrie Ann: He was mesmerizing.
Kevin: He also enjoyed it.
Scores: 7-7-7-7=28 out of 30
Celebrity: Antonio Sabato, Jr.
Claim To Fame: General Hospital star and Calvin Klein underwear model
Pro: Cheryl Burke
Dance: Foxtrot
Song: Ain’t No Mountain High Enough from Guardians Of The Galaxy
Commentary: He finally seems more relaxed on the dance floor. I think between that and the technique it is one of his best performances to date.
Bruno: He gives him advice on moving his hips.
Carrie Ann: The confidence is there, he just needs to breathe.
Kevin: He executed it and did good.
Scores: 7-7-7-8=29 out of 40
Celebrity: Sadie Robertson
Claim To Fame: Duck Dynasty star
Pro: Mark Ballas
Dance: Viennese Waltz
Song: Married Life from UP
Commentary: I am not a fan of this movie, but I do love this song. The dance is gorgeous and she just proved right here, right now that she is almost guaranteed a spot in the finals. It was almost flawless and the floating away in the balloons was the icing on the cake.
Carrie Ann: Her favorite dance of the night.
Kevin: He enjoyed it.
Julianne: She liked it, but she needs to work on her arms.
Bruno: Totally and utterly charmed.
Scores: 8-8-8-8=32 out of 40
More results! The next couple SAFE is Janel and Val, along with Bethany and Derek. Tommy and Peta are also SAFE! This leaves Jonathan and Allison IN JEOPARDY!
Celebrity: Jonathan Bennett
Claim To Fame: Mean Girls star
Pro: Allison Holker
Dance: Tango
Song: Back To Black from The Great Gatsby
Commentary: That was fiery, passionate and just all out proves they have no business being in jeopardy. This is my favorite of their routines and Allison did a good job with such a tough song.
Kevin: Good job.
Julianne: She liked it, but he needs to watch his elbows.
Bruno: The story and content were there.
Carrie Ann: They are here to encourage them and look what she came back with from last week.
Scores: 8-8-8-8=32 out of 40.
Celebrity: Janel Parrish
Claim To Fame: Pretty Little Liars star
Pro: Val Chmerkovskiy
Dance: Jazz
Song: America from West Side Story
Commentary: It really is horrible they could not get the clearance needed for the original routine. However, this one is pretty fun. I love West Side Story and this just makes me want to get up and find the movie.
Julianne: It was like watching a Broadway show and it opened so many doors to her career.
Bruno: This is her star making turn.
Carrie Ann: She gives good everything.
Kevin: It was amazing.
Scores: 10-10-10-10=40 out of 40—first PERFECT SCORE of the season!!!
Celebrity: Tommy Chong
Claim To Fame: Chong from Cheech and Chong
Pro: Peta Murgatroyd
Dance: Argentine Tango
Song: Por Una Cabeza from Scent Of A Woman
Commentary: HE is teaching HER! I really find that hilarious. As for the dance, WOW. He really is this season’s dark horse. I don’t know what I was expecting from him, but I didn’t expect THIS! He is just so charming and adorable.
Bruno: This story could not have been better told.
Carrie Ann: It was like watching Yoda dance. He is the real deal.
Kevin: He enjoyed it.
Julianne: It was flawless.
Scores: 8-10-8-8=34 out of 40.
Celebrity: Bethany Mota
Claim To Fame: YouTube star
Pro: Derek Hough
Dance: Jazz
Song: Singing in The Rain from Singing In The Rain
Commentary: Gene Kelly’s wife Patricia visits them, which is just awesome. As for the dance, it reminds me of Joey and Edyta’s routine to the same song in season three. That is a huge compliment because it was just that good.
Carrie Ann: Mission impossible, mission complete.
Kevin: He brought justice to a dance and also a person he admires.
Julianne: She became a woman in her eyes tonight.
Scores: 10-10-10-10=40 out of 40—another perfect score for the night!
Back to the results. Antonio and Cheryl are safe, which means that either Randy and Karina or Jonathan and Allison, while not necessarily in the bottom two, got the lowest possible scores and will be going home right now.
The couple leaving is….Randy and Karina. I am sad because I really liked him.

Re: Season 19 Week 3
I'm only going to comment on the dances that left an impression.
Betsey was wonderful. Tony created the choreography I imagined. Oh, to be as flexible as Betsey! And I really wanted to smack Julianne. Her critique was that Betsey needed to point her toes more, but she loved it - then she slaps her with a 6? Insulting. Tony seems SO thrilled with what she's able to do.
Carrie Ann reflected my thoughts about Lea in that she seemed uncertain through the dance. It was good but seemed a little awkward in certain places.
Emma looked absolutely gorgeous! I wish it had been Michael who went home. Just can't warm up to this guy - and he can't dance.
Sadie & Mark. Sorry, I hated it. It looked like something out of "Carousel" or a 50's movie musical. I want elegance in a V. Waltz. I was picturing Len messing his pants.
Val & Janel - I thought it was great. And I saw George Chakiris in the audience. Loved him in WSS.
Tommy & Peta - not too shabby for 76.
Bethany & Derek - Loved it.
I couldn't help but take note of Randy's face as the others performed. He looked defeated, and I felt sorry for him. He appeared a likeable guy.
It seemed pointless to have this Kevin guy on the show. If they want comedy, let someone do a standup (if they can find the time). It was like having Ellen on Idol. No expertise - no judging. It's not as if they NEED a fourth judge, for heaven's sake.

Who knew? An interesting little tidbit from 2006 about Carrie Ann and Artem:

I had heard that about Carrie Ann but I wasn't sure I believed it. Guess it's true. Guess she really is a cougar.

Re: Season 19 Week 3
Monday night's show was interesting. If they did anything with the "raise your paddle," I completely missed it. I had thought they were going to show us how the viewers rated them.
Randy - sorry to see him go. He seems like a nice guy. But his first dance was his best, and he's been going downhill from there. I had thought the paso would be a good dance for him, but it just wasn't.
Alfonso - did good with the quickstep but not his best dance. Loved his son - gosh was he a cutie, and it was an appropriate incorporation into the dance. Still really enjoying Alfonso and surprisingly coming to really like Witney as a pro.
Betsy - good but not great in terms of actual dancing but very enjoyable and very surprising. She's so flexible for someone her age and so fearless in trying new things. I want to be her when I get to be that age.
Lea - nice job with the cha cha but definitely not her best dance. I agree she seemed uncertain in parts, and I saw the missed hold, but overall I really enjoy watching her and hope she goes far.
Michael - he just cannot dance. To say this was his best dance yet still isn't saying much. I don't understand why he's still here.
Antonio - he seems to be improving week to week, so I'm okay with him staying around a bit longer. He seems like a nice guy, too.
Sadie - still just not feeling her. This dance was okay, but I think her first dance was actually her best, and she's another one who's been going backwards ever since. She still seems awkward to me. For me she's okay generally and occasionally quite good but I suspect she'll end up in the finale just because of her family's fan base, and she's likely to knock a better dancer out because of it. She is this year's Bristol Palin for me. A better attitude generally than Bristol and a better dancer, but still polarizing and being carried along by her family.
Jonathan - Allison did a good job of choreographing this dance. Jonathan is a decent dancer and very likeable. It wasn't great, but it was a good effort, and I think one of the better dances of the night. Hated the song, though.
Janel - this was my favorite routine of the night, and I give her a lot of credit for being able to learn a new routine like that after 2 days of rehearsing a different routine. She's a great performer, a lot of energy and personality, and I thoroughly enjoy her. Will be interested to see her do a slower-type dance, as all of her dances have been high-energy so far. Right now, she and Alfonso are my dream team for final 2. Lea would be my pick for the 3rd one, but I fear that Sadie will knock her out, which will not endear Sadie to me at all.
Tommy - he continues to surprise. He has way more personality than I expected, and like Betsy, is way more limber than we normally get in the septagenarians. To be honest, I didn't think it was the greatest dance, but it was nicely done and hugely entertaining.
Bethany - I enjoyed the dance. How could I not when I love that movie and I love Gene Kelly. I knew as soon as I saw that package that, barring a serious mishap, they were going to get the same scores as Val and Janel. Just had that feeling that no way was Derek going to get anything less than perfection with his self-promoting homage. Because I really did feel that was all about Derek, and Bethany was an after-thought because he had to do something with her. But I also felt the routine was far more simplistic than what Janel did (possibly because of Bethany's ankle), and had they gotten one or two 10s and a couple of 9s, I would have thought that appropriate.
Kevin Hart did absolutely nothing for me. I didn't know who he was before he came on, and I still don't know who he is. And I could not figure out why he kept screaming his scores. It was funny once, and after that it was just obnoxious. Maybe it's some bit from one of his movies, but since I've never seen them, I wasn't in on the joke, and I just wanted him to stop. He made a few interesting/funny comments during his critiques, but mostly he was just useless. With Julianne there now, they really didn't need a 4th judge to fill in for Len, and I felt bad that Bruno got cut off at the end. Would honestly rather have heard from him than Kevin.
I'm hoping for Michael to go home next week. He really is the weakest link left. Then Antonio and Sadie can go. The rest of them I'm really enjoying and will start to hate seeing them go.

Re: Season 19 Week 3
I agree with you singly. Betsey really surprised me with how she came out of that move and went into a split! I think she was the surprise of the night for me.
Tommy, not bad for someone his age. I liked that he was trying to tell Peta how the tango worked.
My favorites of the night were Val and Janel, and Derek and Bethany.
Julianne needs to lighten up with her scores. They already have Len that has a tendency to over criticize so why do they need her to do it as well?
Usually with guest judges they seem to help them along with the scores but apparently Kevin Hart wasn't having it. I don't know how much his over done scores will influence the results but still. He's funny at times but not everything has to be a joke.

Re: Season 19 Week 3
Am I the only one who disliked the entire choreography and costuming for Mark & Sadie? I'm a rabid fan of Strauss waltzes. When I think Viennese Waltz, I think flowing elegance. I was hugely disappointed with this.

Re: Season 19 Week 3
I thought it was kind of meh, but it was in keeping with the movie. I think he could probably have incorporated more of the 'traditional' V. Waltz styling into it, but perhaps he thought Sadie couldn't handle it. That would require a grace that I don't think she's shown us so far. I also thought the traditional VWs were fairly fast, which would not have been in keeping with the song. The costuming was a copy of the outfits from the movie. I didn't like them much, but they were appropriate under the circumstances.

Re: Season 19 Week 3
I've only seen previews for "Up," so I'm really at a loss about the costuming. I'll take your word for it. But I'm feeling a hunger to run my tape of Strauss. The Blue Danube sends me into la-la land. Every time I hear those strains in a commercial or otherwise, my head rears up - and my body relaxes.

Re: Season 19 Week 3
"Up" is really a good movie, but the beginning is hard to take. It shows this couple as young kids meeting and falling in love and then quickly shows them growing old together until she dies. Which is sad. But that's when the movie really begins, as the old man decides to fulfill a dream they had and inadvertently ends up with a stowaway. The costumes were pretty close - here's a shot of the couple as young people.

Re: Season 19 Week 3
Apparently you were right about Sadie's waltz, Singly. There is some show called "Afterbuzz" (don't know how you see it, though), and Anna T. was on it after Monday's show. She was saying that while she thought Sadie's dance was cute, as a Viennese Waltz - not so much. That would explain why it felt so disappointing.

Re: Season 19 Week 3
It's a shame they so often have music that doesn't properly lend itself to a dance. I'd like to see them just go with orchestral or big band music, latin rhythms and such. I don't see why it has to be so dysfunctional.

I paged through the AfterBuzz TV on youtube until I found it. I also watched some of the videos from Monday night and I truly did not care for Sadie and Mark's dance at all.
