World of Dance

World of Dance kicked offseason 2 in grand style last night. Loved the Desi Hoppers from India, great routine. The young contemporary dancer Jaxon Willard was exemplary too. But the dance that blew me away (judges too) was the salsa from Karen y Ricardo.

That was incredible!!!! How did she not come out of that spin dizzy as hell? Lol. I totally forgot this show was coming back on. I’ll have to go watch it. Thanks for the reminder, Lesallee.

I liked the two couples. I guess I’m partial to ballroom dancing.

That ballroom could on episode two will have to bring a lot or to the floor to stay in the competition. I thought they were good, not exceptional. On the other hand the Chilean pair, Karen and Ricardo could well win it all.

Ballroom is usually my preference too but I guess I enjoy WOD so much because ofthevariety of dance represented.

How many nights do they show different dancers? I thought it would be all on one night. I'm just used to DWTS I guess. I like that it's just one hour and doesn't take up a lot of time. I somehow don't like that they have little kid groups competing with adults. They are at such different levels. There are things that kids cannot convey that adult dancers can.

The first night I liked S-Rank. That Karen is an exceptional dancer. Pasha and Daniella's dance really caught my attention. I liked BDash and Konkrete the second night and some others. I like the hip hop and am not too crazy about the more contemporary or modern dancing.

This is my favourite from ep. 3. These two are just kids and competing in the junior division. Derek loved it and had a lot of fun with it.

You know this show is really very good. Excellent dancing and a good diversity of styles. The judging is fair and accurate. I like this better than SYTYCD this season which seems over loaded with little girls dancing contemporary.

Faves last night: the ballroom kiddies, Ruby and Jonas. Only 14 and 15 but so darn good already. And the tapper (forget his name) because I am a sucker for a good tap dance.

I love the talent on this show and I am so glad it doesn’t have a bunch of ballroom dancing. I stopped watching DWTS a few years ago because I got tired of all the ballroom and on top of that it is so full of amateurs.

Last night was good but that group of leather clad girls in spiked heels I wasn’t crazy about because it just reminded me of girls doing stripper moves. Hopefully the link below works...

The diversity of styles and the level of competitiveness makes this an excellent show. I didn’t even watch last week’s SYTYCD because the previous week was so full of contemporaries. I like a good contemporary but not an overload.

I think the lighting is too dark on this show and they just don't have the production values DWTS has. They really need to improve the lighting. The other thing is Jenna doesn't have a very strong presence. She just doesn't grab my attention.

Do you mean JLo, Glitters? The judges will become more prominent as the cut rounds loom when they will take on mentor duty.

I don’t compare the two shows as they are so totally different in concept.

Oh, okay. I guess her roll is sort of behind the scenes back-up.

I like the diversity of dance this show brings. A bit of everything from tap to ballroom and on and on.

I love this show and the dancing is phenomenal. I stopped watching DWTS a while back because it became boring to me. I love watching professional dancers and DWTS is too amateurish.

I like the professional dancing, but I also like to watch the "celebrities" on DWTS and see what kind of dancers they are and if they get better. I also root for the personalities.
