Re: Dancing With the Stars - Season 25
That was a remarkable night. No one got caught in the trap of going for big production overshadowing the dance (otherwise, be sure Len would have mentioned it). Rather unusual for Disney Night, but so good to see! Overall, our Lovely Ladies have the more difficult tasks. It's amazing what Cheryl, Emma, Peta, and Witney have achieved with their pedestrians so far.
Lindsay of course is something else this season. She is pulling out all the stops. Jordan, that was pro level.

Frankie is pretty good. I love the way Witney was inferring that since Frankie is an actor, he can act sexy, right?

Witney has seemed to calm down and not crave the limelight as much or gotten used to it, which makes her more appealing. But I just didn't think Frankie was pedestrian!

Not in this dance for sure. I was talking about where Frankie, Terrell, Drew, and Nick started from. Quite an improvement for all of them.

Wikipedia says that Victoria Arlen is a triplet, too. I think the other two are male.
I think I do remember seeing that, maybe on the show.

Since Jordans PROfession lists him as a singer, dancer and actor, I would expect nothing less. It's ok with me if there are people with ......'dance experience'.

You know I'm with you on that. Only people like Jordan (or the ones with natural ability, like Hinch) can bring out the best in their pros. Jordan may have experience similar to Corbin or Alfonso's, but Ballroom was new to all of them.kincaid53 wrote:

Do you intend to swing, sis? Forget it; she's married. No, honestly: kudos to the wardrobe department. That dress was a unique mix of pirate and senorita, and Witney wore it with style. I think I've seen her with much less fabric even on Disney Nights, but never that appealing.Babs2147 wrote:I couldn't keep my eyes off of her gorgeous legs, bro.DeadManDancing wrote:Who cares about Frankie? From another message board: Witney's got her groove back! Yay!
Gotta love this little gal - still blurting out inappropriate comments. To Frankie - "The AT is a sexy dance and you're........ trailing off, lamely. She is so inadvertently funny, she makes me laugh all the time.

Sometimes the expectations are greater on them also.
Hinch is a great example of a star bringing out the best in his pro . At the other end of the dance spectrum is Tommy. He brought out something in Peta that I think even surprised her!

Re: Dancing With the Stars - Season 25
When GMA interviewed Sasha and Gleb they asked Gleb if he thought Jordan would win. He said he thought Frankie would, that his journey is the one people like the most, of not being a dancer, but doing so good(not word for word, but that's the gist of it).
So agree with everyones post about Witney
She did look stunning and sexy in that dress....can't believe the dress didn't rip!!
Last but not least..'She's got legs and she knows how to use them!'

Her comments about being a sexy pirate to Frankie were priceless!
Maybe a snack some protein to build up those muscles!!Last but not least..'She's got legs and she knows how to use them!'

Any clues as to what Sasha & Gleb might have done?

Re: Dancing With the Stars - Season 25
I saw an interview with Gleb where he said he thought Frankie will win. But he didn't mention anything about the dance he and Sasha would have done. I will miss them, Sasha seemed like a sweetheart and she was one of those who improved every week.

I'm looking forward to Lindsey & Mark's AT, she did a bit with Derek in a music video so hopefully Lindsey can get that overdue perfect score this Monday!

Re: Dancing With the Stars - Season 25
I'm not familiar with most of these songs. I guess most of these songs were used in a specific movie--or are they just attached to a genre? I know that Wild Wild West was for the Will Smith movie, but I don't remember what sports movie We Will Rock You was in. Let's Be Bad is from the Smash TV series (tbh, I never watched it).
Does anyone know what movie titles the other songs come from?

I'm not familiar with most of the songs, either. The one given to Mark and Lindsey is a real odd-ball one, but dramatic.
I can answer your question about "We Will Rock You", though, thanks to the Queenpedia. The song was used in the following films:
1978 - FM
1992 - Gladiator
1994 - D2: The Mighty Ducks
1997 - The Big One
1999 - Any Given Sunday
2000 - The Replacements
2001 - A Knight's Tale
2005 - The Pacifier

Re: Dancing With the Stars - Season 25
When this was still called Movie Night, they used songs and settings from real motion pictures, and the choreographies were mostly recreating scenes from those. Since last season, when they first called it Night at the Movies, the songs are not necessarily from actual soundtracks any more, but just selected to capture the mood of the respective genre. The couples have a lot more creative freedom and write their own scripts. Here's my favorite from S24:

Re: Dancing With the Stars - Season 25
Psychee, thank you for looking up those movies--I appreciate it. I have to admit I have not seen any of those films although I have some idea of their plots. I may check them out.
DMD, thanks for explaining how the show had started handling their "Movie Night" I wasn't aware of the change. The only song I caught at first glance was the WWW song that Will Smith did for his 1999 movie version of the earlier WWW TV western series. I'm guessing that any future movie nights will become a mixture of songs from the soundtrack and songs assigned to a genre depending on availability.
