Week 11 - Finals
Here's what I could find out so far:
The couples will dance to the following songs (in alphabetical order):
Calvin and Lindsay
Redemption Style: Viennese Waltz – “I Am Your Man” by Ryan Shaw
Freestyle: “Please Mr. Postman”/”I Want You Back” medley by The Marvelettes/Jackson 5
1-800-868-3403
James and Sharna
Redemption Style: Fox Trot – “It Had to Be You” by Harry Connick Jr.
Freestyle: “Beethoven’s 5 Secrets” by The Piano Guys
1-800-868-3405
Jana and Gleb
Redemption Style: Tango – “Stay the Night” by Zedd
Freestyle: “Unstoppable” by Sia
1-800-868-3406
Laurie and Val
Redemption Style: Paso Doblé – “Wicked Ones” by Dorothy
Freestyle – “Brand New” by Ben Rector
1-800-868-3407
At the end of the night, one couple will be eliminated, and the three remaining couples will go on to vie for the coveted Mirrorball.

OaKma, I read elsewhere that they will do a blend of several dances. Anyway, with Sharna creating it and the two performing it will be spectacular.
James really wanted to do a foxtrot for the redemption dance to show how far he has come. I look forward to it.

Re: Week 11 - Finals
I'm more of a fan of the action packed, lots of tricks, lifts, fun shaking everything they've got Freestyles.....like.....Alfonso, Sadie, James, Hines, Shawn, Kristi, Helio, Donnie and my faves..Brooke and Derek, JR and Karina, Donald and Peta!!! Although, Nyles and Petas was very good....very powerful(plus it had Peta ).
I was hoping James and Sharna would do a really fun freestyle....showcasing James 'wild' side!!

Re: Week 11 - Finals
You will get lots of lifts and tricks and all out go, go, go from Calvin and Lindsay, sis.
I haven't read any hints from Jana and Gleb nor L & V. Val likes a more sedate, ballroom type freestyle but perhaps with L. he will incorporate more tricks. Gleb, wow, I can't even hazard a guess which direction he will take them.
Although Calvin is likely going out in fourth place this is the plus side of a four team finale. Four freestyles!
Don't worry about James and Sharna. She knows her boy's strengths inside and out and that is what she will showcase.

Re: Week 11 - Finals
Janas will once again be about her sad life and how broken she was before coming to dwts....so we will get the pained face look again.
By the song it sounds like Laurie and Vals will be sedate......Val can choreograph such fun numbers like the one he did with Janelle to the West Side Story show. Honestly Val and Rumors FS was good, but it was more of a fusion dance..Paso/Tango.
Yes I do hope Calvin and Lindsey will give me a FS I can jump up and dance and clap to !!
I have no doubt James and Sharnas FS will be spectacular!!
I just miss the big showy ones

Re: Week 11 - Finals
I think the closest thing to a kitchen sink freestyle was probably their Jive since it had James' jumping over his own IndyCar, both Sharna and Jenna dancing with him, and shooting off lots of glitter at the end.
James has been so good in the ballroom dances that show his chemistry with Sharna, and I think that is what the team wants to impress upon viewers. I like that Sharna didn't want a traditional somber contemporary and was working towards something that was moving and inspirational and would show James' story. She hinted at doing something that hadn't been done before regarding presentation. I can hardly wait!

They have that week that tells every ones story...then they kind of do it again during the semis, so I know every ones story.
You are right about the trio dance, if that would have been their FS...it would have been my favorite one ever

A sedate ballroom dance is not a good idea in the freestyle is it? I like the fast dances and tangos. The slow dances like VW have to be spectacular for me to like.

I've been reading about the talk about James and Sharnas AT not being on dwts fb to view.........you can see it on so many other venues..so excuse my ignorance, but why is it so important to watch it there?
NO third place for our !!!!!
James and Sharna will win ommmmm!!!

Re: Week 11 - Finals
You can of course see the AT many other places. But, FB attracts millions of viewers where other venues only bring in thousands. I tend to judge which way the wind is blowing by FB comments because there are so many of them. sue may be right, DWTS isn't eager to read about how out of touch with reality CAI is and so are delaying its appearance. But I suspect a L/V agenda is being played out.

That is true about the MMY stories. Maybe Sharna will approach it from a different angle. Maybe they will concentrate more on James' journey through DWTS.
I don't mind seeing teams take different approaches to the freestyle, but I find I don't like it as much if it goes too far into angsty contemporary. Riker and Allison's contemporary during the season was great, but I would have been disappointed if that had been their freestyle. I was disappointed in how serious Meryl and Maks' freestyle was and wanted just a bit more lightness and romance. Serious is fine, but for a freestyle I don't want it TOO serious. So I'm glad that it seems Sharna won't go in that direction.

I do think you are right, sue. I have a feeling Sharna will take us through their weeks on DWTS. They had it all, fun, lighthearted, romantic and sensuous, athletic and evocative. Lots to pick from.

Re: Week 11 - Finals
I really trust Sharna to showcase James' versatility, give it a very personal touch, and blow the audience away. We have seen enough sheer contemporaries in the fs round, and Sharna knows that. When Maks did it with Erin, it was totally new. When Derek did it with Kellie, he took it to new heights. When Val went for it, it never really wowed me, especially since both Janel and Rumer (Swan Lake!!) had contemporary routines earlier that were much stronger. For M&M it only worked because of their chemistry, and Peta probably squeezed the last drop out of it with Nyle.
If a freestyle is quiet and sentimental or big and loud always depends on the relationship of the respective couple.
I can see what glitters and kincaid are after. The big Broadway numbers were perfect for Jack/ Cheryl and Alfonso/ Witney, but they wouldn't have suited M&M or Jeta.
Now if anyone can manage to make it both highly emotional and entertaining, my money is on James and Sharna.

Re: Week 11 - Finals
I don't know if I meant big Broadway number as long as it's a fast dance and like you said emotional and entertaining. Just as long as it gets my attention with setting, song, chemistry and choreography.

I know; Broadway was just an example. You could easily add anything to the list that Mark has created over the years.

So if Calvin is eliminated in fourth place as seems to be widely accepted do you think his fan votes will go to James? Given the friendship that has developed between the two guys I think so. It could make quite a difference.

Re: Week 11 - Finals
Everywhere I read people think Calvin and Lindsay will be eliminated in fourth. Not how I would like it. My preferred top three are James, Jana and Calvin but nobody cares what I want. I just think James would get the benefit of Calvin's fan vote. I don't see those fans migrating to the two girls.

I guess, sis, since Jana is my least favourite of the 4 I'm hoping Calvins football nation will knock her out .....she reminds me of Bindi...every single dance is such a sad sack dance even the fun ones are about her horrendous trials and tribulations and her sad sack face .......sorry sis, it's down to the nitty gritty and I don't like her just like you didn't like Amber.

Re: Week 11 - Finals
No, don't misunderstand me, sis. I don't want Calvin knocked out at all. But every poll and prediction I've read in the last week and I've seen quite a few, says Calvin will go out in fourth. So extrapolating from that where do you think the Calvin vote would go? Simply a hypothetical question. I would prefer him in the F3. But I don't often get what I wish for.
