I just hope he remembers what Sharna has done for his popularity. After DWTS, everyone knows drivers are encouraged to pee in their pants...

Re: The Handsome Men of DWTS & SCD, Past and Present
I'm sure James does. It's probably a fine line for him during racing season. If he comes across too sentimental or gushing about his experience on DWTS, it might appear as if he is not as serious about racing to fans and potential promoters. In a recent podcast interview James talked about how it was important to him to be himself but still be able to be dead serious when it was time to race. He didn't want to shut out everyone around him while preparing for a race. He still wanted to be his fun-loving self. James worked at mentally being able to do that, which was why he has become an IndyCar fan favorite and why he did so well on DWTS.
On a side note James tweeted that his brother, Chris Hinchcliffe, has written a novel about a young Canadian wanting to race. Since it is described as a novel, it doesn't look like a biography. I wonder where he got his inspiration? That was the announcement involving the book with the big question mark.

They've never been hiding him actually. He just isn't a TV-personality. But he appears on social media and on occasions like the one above, opening another dance studio.

Re: The Handsome Men of DWTS & SCD, Past and Present
I'm not sure how often their father has been on the set, but this is the only time I can recall him being there. As Zendaya and Val jump on the platform in the back, Val is seen quickly shaking his hand before he jumps off.
This is one of my favorites from Zendaya and Val and possibly the first time that Hip Hop was officially presented on the show. Val had never done Hip Hop before. When I watch this dance I find it fascinating to watch Val. He wasn't familiar with this style, but he was attacking the moves full out like the experienced dancer that he is while Zendaya's body language was more relaxed. It's a bit of a contrast but it works great for the characters they were playing.

Ahh, Zen and Val, I was so all in for this team. Alas, no MBT but oh they provided me with such good times.

Re: The Handsome Men of DWTS & SCD, Past and Present
That was the season when I started following DWTS in real time, and a new pro called Sharna Burgess caught my eye.
I hadn't found out yet about those Hough-Chmerkovskiy fan battles. I appreciated what both Val and Derek achieved with their partners. Then I joined the abc board, and the show lost its innocence.

That battleground was my initiation to message boards too. When I was a wet behind the ears newbie I offered my opinion that Val was just as good, sometimes better than St. Derek. Well, the proverbial you know what hit the fan and me. I got called all sorts, hater was the mildest. Scared the bejeepers out of me and I retreated for a bit. Then I got madkincaid53 wrote: The abc dwts message board was my first message board. What an initiation !!!

I think I also joined the ABC DWTS message board during the Zen and Val season. Like you I was also floored at how heated the discussions were during that time--actually got into an argument with a guy who absolutely hated Zendaya. I think as social media outlets increased the DWTS message board got slightly less intense, but it would still take just the addition of a controversial team or two for the message board to blow up all over again.

Re: The Handsome Men of DWTS & SCD, Past and Present
Oh yes ... I remember it well.
I thought that people were a bit intense on that board when I first got on there.I have to admit I was a bit of a stinker sometimes and pushed a few buttons. The season that Bill and Emma were on was the most fun ... I "dared" to be a fan of that team and people were very upset that they got to the final.
We all knew they weren't going to win ... they were very entertaining though.
