Hey GymmieJane - Check Out McKayla
~DAYUM~ only 20 years old and says she's "retired" from Gymnastics. And what happens right after quitting Gymnastics - she grows some boobies. She looks Bangin Hot. Too bad we won't see her in Rio.

Re: Hey GymmieJane - Check Out McKayla
Does anyone know how to say "idiot" in Texas? Just wondering . . . .
As to the post directly above, Mckayla Maroney was one of the all time greatest vaulters in gymnastics history.Vaulting is possibly the most difficult of WAG events, requiring extreme power, courage (oh those blind landings, not to mention running at top speed toward that horse) and extreme technical precision.
Mac did one of the most difficult of vaults (the Amanar) at close to perfection, so is owed a good deal of respect. She also overlooked a broken toe to help her team win the championship and herself win a silver medal (in spite of sitting down her second vault) in London. Any gymnast who wins silver after falling is clearly the real gold medalist.
But it became clear to me soon after the 2012 Olympics that all was not well in McKaylaville and that she was having some personal/emotional problems.
And, although unlike some of the other girls on the team, she returned to the gym and competition almost immediately following the Olympics, a series of health problems and injuries led to her retirement. Not before she won gold in vault at Worlds though.
I do not believe she finished High School. And apart from a few minor acting roles (given to her while she was riding the post Olympics fame wave) she has not actually done anything career or education wise. She seems to spend all her time taking and posting silly and provocative selfies and writing inane inspirational messages on twitter and instagram.
Whatever is going on with Mac that has caused this seeming breakdown, a grown-up would overlook it and understand that sometimes when a person achieves fame and an extreme level of accomplishment at a very early age it is hard to cope with. Especially when that fame is taken away and you are replaced by the new girls.

Is McKayla from TX ?@? THat's pretty interesting bio info you dug up. I guess that's why she became famous for that smirk on the podium knowing she could have been Gold if she didn't goof up...I disagree the vault is the most difficult routines; I feel it is the uneven bars. By the way Janie, did you know when Nadia C (don't know her last name) scored the first 10 in Oly Gymnastics, the scoreboard didn't even have the digits to display 10.00 and instead had to post a 1.00 score......I bet you didn't know that - pretty good of me, huh:)GymGirlJane wrote:Does anyone know how to say "idiot" in Texas? Too bad she lost her Olympic desire, but hey it's not like there's any money in Gymnastics; I''m just glad she didn't become a Lawyer But I do hope she continues to post banging hawt pics on Instagram.....Any chance applies to become the next Bachelorette, or better yet, gets on Bachelor Paradise??
I'm the greatest poster in ABC Message board history, just ask you buddy in that other thread. And I can vogue, the fame & notoriety hasn't gone to my head........BBBBUWUWUAHHAHHAHAHAHAHAHHAH

Uh . . .no. But you are. Get it Monkey Bars?????Feces.Hurling.Monkey wrote:Is McKayla from TX ?@?GymGirlJane wrote:Does anyone know how to say "idiot" in Texas? Just wondering . . . .
BTW, my saying that the vault is the most difficult event in WAG is clearly subjective. To some degree anyway. UB is indeed also a difficult apparatus. Heck, they all are. But if you look at it from the perspective of the % of elite gymnasts that excel on each apparatus, I suspect Vault would indeed come up as the hardest.

No way Janie - what kind of an expert are you ?@? the vault is not even close to the Uneven Bars:
1. The bars require more strength, athleticism and coordination. On bars you have to work against gravity and requires strength to pull your self in three dimensions.
2. Anything done on vault is done on bars, only higher; twists, somersaults, flips, dismounts, you name it bars has it all.
3. all you haveta do on vault is run hard for 5 seconds.

Right. Go against gravity indeed. What a concept. What do you suppose you are doing on the vault after the preflight and block?
And "anything done on vault is done on bars" what on earth are you babbling about?
As I said "how do you say idiot in texas"?????????

Are you capable of engaging in a civil discussion without ad hominem comments?GymGirlJane wrote:Right. Go against gravity indeed. What a concept. What do you suppose you are doing on the vault after the preflight and block?

Let's put it this way; if they don't ban the team for doping, a 41-yo Russian women will vault; you won't see any grannies on bars at the Olys, because it's more physically demanding.
Any routine performed on vault, can be duplicated on the bars, either on the dismount, or during the routine.

Re: Hey GymmieJane - Check Out McKayla
It takes an idiot not to see that the Uneven Bars is much more physically challenging than any other gymnastics event. A bars routine will last about 2-1/2 mins and it requires a Gurl to perform pull ups and all kinds of twisting stunts. most women can barely do 1 or 2chin ups, but a bars routine requires physical strength to go from the low to high bar and also a handstand. That's not easy for chicks to perform. .....All they gotta do for a vault is run for 5-seconds and do a flip. Any stund on the vault is done on the Bars, but not the other way around......SheezeGymGirlJane wrote:Right. Go against gravity indeed. What a concept. Okay, so this has passed the point of being even remotely bearable. You have no idea what you are talking about Monkey Business. You may be a smart guy but you do not understand anything about the sport of gymnastics. And you simply sound ridiculous at this point.
Stick to what you know.

Ya know What's ridiculous? is that you, a self-proclaimed expert, can't offer one opinion, or explanation why vault is more physically demanding than uneven bars. Instead, you gotta resort to name-calling.GymGirlJane wrote:Okay, so this has passed the point of being even remotely bearable. You have no idea what you are talking about Monkey Business. Re: Hey GymmieJane - Check Out McKayla
well, first of all Monkey Shines, I am not name calling. Second, I believe I did offer some explanation -- by way of using the socratic method when I asked you to tell me how gravity might or might not factor in after the pre flight and block elements. But, since you do not know anything about this sport, I gather you did not understand the question.Feces.Hurling.Monkey wrote:

I am not engaging further in this because this is a sport I do take very seriously and you do not know anything about it. So having a conversation is impossible. You are simply making uninformed statements. Its not interesting for me.
You are entitled to your opinion. To be honest, there are people who do know about the sport who agree with you that UB is the most challenging event. Others would say vault . The fact is both answers are correct -- albeit for different gymnasts. They require stregnth in different skills. Thats the key. People who who not know much about the sport tend to think BB is hardest. But no one who understands the sport thinks that UB requires more power than vault. That's just not at issue.
Bottom line -- this is no longer a conversation about gymnastics. Its about nonsense. So I am checking out. See you elsewhere on other topics Monkey Shines.
