It almost sounds like there was a switch at the last moment like they did with Caila  to JoJo.  IMO Luke was the better man.

I can't help, but wishing the producers realized they made a mistake and make Luke the next Bachelor.  He was like a woman whisperer.  Guys like Luke are one in a billion.  It hurts now that I know he is not going to be the next Bachelor, I was really looking forward to it.

I will not sign this and do not recommend anyone else to sign it either.   I do not like having two people put up against each other to begin with and letting the women vote for which one they want.  This would be embarrassing or humiliating to the one eliminated and what's to to say the voting wasn't rigged?   In the case of what this petition is trying to do  is not going to work - they switched from Luke to Nick at the last minute so to speak and that's because they wanted Nick and that's just the way the voting would turn out if there was a vote off between Nick and Luke.  TPTB would make sure of it - who counts the ballots?


Was Luke even contacted about putting this petition out there?  If I were him I would never agree to put myself up to be future humiliated or embarrassed.  He has basically been blindsided and lied to by the producers twice now and he has said he is glad to get back to his own life that he has control so why a petition like this.


I will not watch Nick's season of the bachelor and that is the best way to protest the switch they pulled and recommend others to do the same.  The best way to make it known you are not happy with their decision is to not watch to keep their ratings down.  That's the only thing they understand and want - ratings.   BTW I would not have watched Nick's season anyway because I can't stand him and his lack of ethics and morals.

Luke did not like the way it was handled:


It's true: Luke Pell had his bags packed and his contract finalized. He was ready to fly to Los Angeles for the announcement that he would be the next Bachelor—until he got a call saying the network had gone a different direction.


"Over the past few weeks leading up to the announcement, we had come to terms with a contract that everyone on both ends was happy with. We planned out what the season would look like in detail. They even asked about my sister coming on an episode of the show. Casting was almost, if not completely, finalized," he tells E! News.


But everything ended abruptly last weekend. "The decision was made apparently on Sunday, and I was supposed to fly to L.A. Monday and already had all my bags packed. They called me Sunday night and said it wasn't me. I didn't know who the Bachelor was—I found out with the rest of America."

The move was surprising—and though Pell tells us he's doing "fine," he's not pleased with the way the situation was handled.

"I'm fine, I'm content. It's the same as how I left The Bachelorette, unexpectedly. I felt like I didn't deserve that," he says, adding that there's no ill will toward Nick Viall, who ended up being the surprise new Bachelor. "I don't have a problem with it if they think that they have a better candidate for the show, that's fine. But it's the way that it was handled. Asking me to be genuine and authentic and open and vulnerable…and then I don't get genuine and authentic in return from the organization."


As for now, Pell is pleased to be at home in Tennessee and has plenty of plans for the future. "I'm so happy to be back in Nashville," he reveals. "I have a couple entrepreneurial ventures and non-profits I'm working with. I'm also a songwriter. I love what I do, and I loved it before I was ever cast on The Bachelorette. I'm excited, and I'm glad I have so many good friends in Nashville. I'm excited for what the future holds."

He did not deserve to be treated the way he was and it really pisses me off. I guess they wanted to go with someone who would give them as much drama as they could ever possibly hope for.

I wonder if they are rushing to find a new batch of women to compete. Makes me wonder how the women that were chosen for Luke are feeling. They would have had to put their lives on hold, etc. too.

I watched it and Luke looked good and when he said it left a bitter taste in his mouth you could almost see it.  He did very well and was truthful about what he went through and that he does not want to have any more dealings with the franchise.  I am so glad to hear him come out and say that.

I doubt they will care - they got their puppet with Nick where I think they knew they would get a puppet with Luke.  Luke deserves better than them and what he got from them.
