Antonio and Sharna
Lovely Sharna has a good shot at TMT with Antonio this season. For me, Antonio needs to apply some control going forward and I'm sure he will.

They were great, but 6 from Len? There are some good dancers this season.

Re: Antonio and Sharna
Sharna's choreography had the flair he needed. The details to please Len will come later.
I'm not worried about them. At all. Next week is Latin Night. Just you wait. Boom.

Re: Antonio and Sharna
Watched this dance again; just had to. Sharna is freakin' amazing anyway, and I think she knew with such a strong cast strategy matters. Better win the audience over out of the gate to make it through the first cut than try and please all judges. I can see why they scored the way they did, and I can even agree. Len can be extra tough on the promising ones. Just remember Riker Lynch- who got Len's first ten just a few weeks later.

Re: Antonio and Sharna
Top notch critique from Bruno, he summed it up precisely. Sharna was her usual glorious self and I hope Antonio picks up his game.

Re: Antonio and Sharna
I agree. They said it nicely, but bottom line from all judges is he needs to listen to her and put effort in being the partner she deserves. Still Sharna was a vision. More beautiful every time I see her. Am I biased? So what?

Re: Antonio and Sharna
It seems they have the Foxtrot tomorrow night. No swagger, no boomin'. Posture, frame, heel leads, rise and fall. I really hope Antonio got the call and delivers. His lack of technique could be excused in week one and was compensated with high energy, but with this competition there is no more room for error.
It's been bothering me all week why their Rumba didn't wow me although Sharna danced her immaculate behind off, and I have an odd feeling Antonio doesn't take it serious. He'd better stop calling out Von and realize also Doug scored one point higher than him. I'm worried, and he'd better prove me wrong tomorrow.

I agree with you brother.........just like Len told Erin ..........."you need to show up..shut up and listen to your partner!"
I too hope the other threads get moved over, but it was a nice idea.

Re: Antonio and Sharna
So glad to see this side of Antonio. I liked this dance better than his 2 previous dances. The Sharna influence was very evident. Our girl will whip him into shape, no doubt.

It's such a beautiful song. It sounded like the original song.

Re: Antonio and Sharna
I thought Antonio did a great job!! Very smooth and I loved the end when he walked off with his son. What a great role model!!
I couldn't end the post without saying how beautiful Sharna was and you could tell how proud she was of the dance!

Re: Antonio and Sharna
After reading all of you praising them, I watched this performance first- I mean, I would have anyway. First of all, I'm glad Antonio understood you can't play it cool all the time; you have to open up. He did just that. Only with this number he became a personality for me. Yes, Sharna was proud of this piece, and she should be.
Again, Len just grumbled about missing refinement, but it was Bruno who gave the helpful advice. This man should never be underestimated just because he's funny. Finally, glitters: it was the original song, and it was a perfect fit- especially the lyrics.

Re: Antonio and Sharna
You're right. No posture to worry about, and the judges said he has a feel for the music. If it's half as good as Nick's Jazz to Backstreet's Back, it will be boomin'!

Re: Antonio and Sharna
I'm hoping Jazz proves to be right up Antonio's alley and he can really let loose. It's so important to have fun with this show and sometimes Antonio seems a bit apprehensive. He's fortunate to have Sharna who knows so well how to make her partners confident.

Re: Antonio and Sharna
The most surprising thing about that performance was I didn't see much of Sharna. She took a risk having him perform on his own in front of four pros, and it totally worked. What she added was on point though. They were tied for second with Wanya and Lindsay- who would have thought? So proud of my girl!

Re: Antonio and Sharna
Well I am supposed to be critiquing Antonio but all I could think is my gosh, Karina, those legs!
Not the best dance - the epitome of what's wrong with switch up week. Everyone is progressing finely and then - let's mess things up, here's a brand new partner.

Re: Antonio and Sharna
There is not so much wrong with the switch up itself, and there is definitely nothing wrong with Karina- legs and everything. There is something wrong with Antonio though. He got more than one wake up call now. If he still thinks he can get away with under-rehearsed, performance-driven numbers, he'll be gone week eight. If that happens, on behalf of Sharna, I'll kill him myself. Wasn't it lovely how Jacoby stood in for Karina?

Re: Antonio and Sharna
There have been people in the past who have danced just as good or better with their switch-up partners.
