I think squirrels are both entertaining and very funny. Used to feed them at a place I once lived. Haven't seen any where I'm at now.

Re: ANIMAL ANTICS!
I recently found that one of our squirrels is building her nest. I saw her tugging on
the frayed end of the big braided rope that someone wrapped around the base of
the oak tree. She almost gave herself a case of whip-lash trying to gather some of
the soft fibers. I finished my cigarette, went in the house, grabbed a small ball of
super soft yarn and headed back outside. She had gone back to her nest so she
didn't see me do what I did. I unrolled the yarn, wrapped it loosely around my hand
and when I ran out of yarn, I cut one section of the repeated loop, to create a handful
of 8 or 9 inch threads. I piled those up at the base of the tree, plus cut most of the
fluff from the rope that she had been working on, and piled that up next to the yarn.
The next morning when I came back outside, both piles were gone. I saw her right as
she was making her way into the nest with a mouthful of blue yarn. So I left her another
pile yesterday too. She has used about half of that so far. She's going to have a comfortable nest for her next litter.

I saved my dryer lint for them. Birds loved it as well. Try that next time. She may like it

Moo, we always save our dryer lint, but I never thought to give it to birds or
squirrels, great idea. Thanks. I have left hair clippings outside for them. They
use that for the binder to make the twigs stay together more than for comfort
but I find it fascinating all the same.

Re: ANIMAL ANTICS!
Apparently, today is Squirrel appreciation day, so my daughter sent me this lovely compilation of 20 whimsical squirrel pictures as a gift. I am sharing them with you.
