Kim Zolchiak had a mini-stroke but is recovering well

According to Hollywoodlife.com, Kim suffered a mini-stroke after she flew home to Atlanta Tuesday night. Thanks to the quick action of her family she got to the hospital, and her body is now returning to normal. It looks like she will be released soon.

It remains to be seen how this will affect her time on DWTS. Her recovery will obviously affect her rehearsals with Tony this week. Sending good thoughts her way for a speedy recovery.

I can't imagine anyone returning to the show that quickly after a TIA. There would be too many unknowns to assess risk, I would think. It's not like TIA's happen randomly... something has gone wrong to cause the problem, and the exercise involved in this show could be a contributing factor. She just seems way too young to experience this.

I agree that it would be hard for her to return to the type of schedule that is DWTS. She may not have been that active prior to joining the show. Kim was feeling a lot of stress during the last two weeks, and that kind of pressure will continue for the rest of the season. It would probably be best for her to withdraw to let her body fully recover.

I'm shocked to hear this because I thought she had some promise. I thought the first night she seemed to be strung out with the fear of failing her first night. A typical reaction a beginner dancer has the first time they have to show their stuff. Tony did a good job of trying to calm her down. Her second night she was like a different person and did a very good job and she acted a lot more confident. Monday night she was even better but the judges didn't agree and she acted very disappointed and Tony was even more po'd about her scores which is unusual for him to openly disagree with the judges. The pros know when their pupil has done a routine well. I hope she isn't taking this stuff too seriously. I was reading the story at Yahoo and some of the comments people were making about her were more harsh than the old days on ABC board. Someone mentioned that she had a botox injection Monday morning and that probably caused the stroke.

Im so sorry to hear that! I had a stroke 4years ago ,and it can be frightening! A person can have a mini stroke and not be aware of what is happening,so Im happy they took her to get medical help immediately. Im sure under Drs care ,she'll be fine! My prayers go out to her!

They were talking about this on TMZ and said that Botox doesn't cause strokes. She is only 37. I thought she deserved more than 6's on Tuesday.

The mini-stroke in a way may have saved Kim. The doctors conducted another test regarding a potential heart issue that they discovered while she was in the hospital. In the meantime she has now been released from the hospital, but DWTS is not saying what will happen on Monday. We don't know if the doctor has given her the green light. Knowing DWTS, they will probably play up Kim's recent experience as a cliffhanger throughout the show. We will have to wait to see if Kim's situation affects Monday's elimination.

I would just hope that she uses common sense and drops out of the competition. This mini stroke is a warning that something is wrong. To add to everything else she has six kids including four young children. JMO.

I suppose we can give her partial credit for following her doctor's advice and not taking a plane ride to get to DWTS. But it sounds like she was still eager to continue in the competition, and even practiced a routine for tonight. I am happy for her children that the show eliminated her. It was NOT worth the risk.

It was too bad that she had to leave the show this way especially since she was improving each dance. Now she just needs to concentrate on getting well and taking care of herself and her family.

I saw where Kim did not know they were going to boot her off...........obviously wanting more of a meltdown than what she gave them....(haha abc!).........there is talk that she is not happy because she and Tony had taped their rehearsal dance and why did they not show that like they did with Melissa Rycroft and Amy Purdy. Yeah I get that, but ...............Kim a medical issue such as a stroke even a mini one..is nothing to 'dance around'...say thank you to Tony...thank you to your fans and that you are sad but your health comes first and then come back if you can and do your Samba I Dream of Jeannie dance for the finale.
To ABC ... thank you for nipping it in the bud and not possibly having one of your 'stars' have a major life threatening disaster happen on live TV.........Kim we only heard what your doctor said from you..which I believe it was serious, but.....can I see a doctors note!....... Tony, you looked so handsome last night and Jenna what an adorable genie you made!!!

If we can believe what is plastered all over the internet today, she has managed to inspire more than 100 thousand people to sign a petition to DWTS to let her back in the contest, which she is encouraging.

Makes me wonder if she is an idiot, or more brain-damaged than we know, or if this is merely a publicity ploy for all involved (DWTS included - controversy brings in viewers).

Yes that campaign was being pushed on Extra and ET last night that they were lobbying for her to be brought back. I know that Tony is lobbying for it but I really think it is unwise for her to try to come back now. A stroke, even a mini one, is nothing to fool around with. She should be more concerned about taking care of herself and her family right now than getting back on a silly dancing show.

A mini stroke is nothing to take lightly. Neither is recovering from it.

All I can say is if this is true, what is the matter with this woman, and more importantly, what is wrong with the fans; priorities are certainly screwed up. JMHO.

Exactly - having seen what strokes can do to loved ones I think it is entirely foolish to want to come back. I can't believe her doctors would encourage it either. She is young to be having TIA's and needs to be careful that another one is waiting just around the corner. DWTS is not that important unless they need the money but I wouldn't think that would be an issue with them. If she wants to do it so bad maybe she should consider asking to come back next season if her health is okay but NOT NOW!!

She and Tony should do a nice new routine for the finale ... by then she should be ok to dance without any health concerns.

I think the whole "let me come back" thing is just for hype .... .... and I think it is FUN !!!!
