Rants & Raves
What has got you so steamed that if you don't unload, you'll explode?
What have you discovered that's just so great you must relate?
As to the former, choice words for or about the old board, its designers and its moderators come to mind. If we have any eyeroll-inducing correspondence, or horror stories with a darkly humorous twist, this would be the place to share them. I, for one, will be glad to do so if anyone asks. Of course, I can't imagine who else might have some great material stored on a hard drive somewhere. :bounce:
Oh, yeah. Twishing. Twishing is another one. Who might want to rant about the fauxlebrity Bachpeople?
For the latter, I have in mind unique people, places, things and events that are worthy of mention and make life and/or the world just a little bit better. This board comes to mind, Bach98133.
Curtain up, light the lights! OMG, what did I just say? The last line of that song is, "Everything's coming up roses." How Bach can one get!!! It's a disease, I tell you.
Oh, and it might be better to have a separate thread for politics and/or religion. We don't have the personnel and equipment here to handle casualties!

Since you brought up the Twishing - I want to rant about what Arie is doing. I find it so disgusting and distasteful that he has the audacity to ask his fans to send him money so he can pursue a racing career! How low can this fauxlebrity Bachpeople stoop?

No kidding! Seems they have no respect either for either themselves or anybody else!

Re: Rants & Raves
Boy, did you pick the right thread topic for me! I'm FULL of pet peeves.
I know I make mistakes with the English language and would greatly appreciate anyone correcting me if they see I've misused or misspelled a word.
I think we all agree about "Sean and I" being used incorrectly. For me, I cringe every time I see "in regards to." In greetings to? Even my old employer, the attorney, used "regards" in his letters.
One, I just figured out. YES, I'm slow. "Should of" I never thought about it before. It only now struck me that "should of" is the way people have come to write "should've."
Whaddya got?

Re: Rants & Raves
I'm the Apostrophe Police. People put apostrophes where they are not needed. For example, if one is speaking about the Smith family, one does NOT say "the Smith's." They are "the Smiths."
The most common apostrophe mistake is committed with "its." People write "it's" which means "it is" or "it has." The possessive form of "it" is "its." We also don't say "her's, our's, their's or hi's."
Similarly, "who's" means "who is" or "who has." The possessive form of "who" is "whose."
Some day I will take away everyone's apostrophes and give them back one at a time when the writers have proven they can handle them.

As you are aware, Widder Woman, I am the apostrophe police. I am also the spelling, grammar, and punctuation police.
You might be a useful little flatfoot.

LOL, WW. Your last line was TOO funny!
Do you like nuc-u-lar? Real-i-tor? Jul-ery? "Prolly" has come into common usage on these boards. I won't be surprised when these folks forget what the word really is. "Whose" is a common error. Also, there, their, they're. You're and your.
Tell you what. I now read some of the stuff I wrote when I was in my twenties and it amazes me. My vocabulary was vastly greater back then. I've come to truly believe that if you don't use it, you lose it. My work as a bankruptcy paralegal and customer service rep for a utility forced me to speak on a level that could be understood by clients/customers. I often find I have to look up the spelling of words I once knew. Sad.
