Their team name is something to pull for if nothing else. I found this picture of them DWST FB:

OK... I am absolutely NOT blaming Emma for this... but does anyone else here feel like this team name is a crafty politician's effort to manipulate voters?
To me, it seems to scream "If you support the Vets, keep me in no matter how badly I dance!"
Not that every star doesn't use whatever tricks it can to appeal to the audience's emotions, but this isn't a one week thing. We're going to hear a reminder about this every week.
I don't think I like the idea of encouraging the audience to keep someone in the show simply because he will be donating his weekly salary to the Vets.
What do others think?

I'm not touching something that is brought up as a political ploy. Our Vets, however; deserve all the help they can get. For that reason alone I have no problem with this.

Re: TeamDanceForOurVets, Rick and Emma
OK... let me play devil's advocate to suss this out more...
What if his dances were cringe-worthy and your favorite was sent home while Rick was kept in for the Vets' sake?
Would you still feel fine about it, do you think?
Remember that Rick is a millionaire. He could easily donate that same money out of his pocket. He could give one hour's speech and probably make the same amount of money that he would earn from being on the show for five weeks ($50k).

Re: TeamDanceForOurVets, Rick and Emma
I would prefer to keep politics out of this board thank you anyway. It tore this board apart a few years ago and I saw it get really ugly on the ABC board. There are boards for discussing politics I am sure - this is not one of them.
I see nothing wrong with him donating the money he gets for appearing on DWTS to the Vets. There have been others on this show that weren't donating their earnings to anyone but themselves that have stayed on when better dancers have been eliminated - that is the nature of this show.

The Vets can do it on their own. Best regards from JR Martinez and Noah Galloway.

I don't think my concerns are political, SLA44. I'd have the same issue with this if any other person - politician or not - from the other party did this, but I will drop the subject if I am making you uncomfortable.

Well it wasn't very good in spite of Emma doing all she could.

Emma makes a great Eva Gabor! This routine was entertaining although I doubt Rick will ever qualify as a top notch dancer. But entertainment and enjoyment is all I ask so I'm happy.

I really enjoyed their dance tonight and thought it was very entertaining. At least Rick seemed to be really enjoying their dance.

Can't warm up with this guy. Feels like he's doing his own campaign. Emma deserves more respect and attention.
