First of all I want to congratulate my home town gal Aubrey Cleland for winning the sing-off to become the 11th contestant to make it on the tour at the end of the season. Beatles Songs Night - Second Episode 3518286507

I felt so sorry for Lazaro tonight because they changed his song at the last minute and he only had one day to learn it! Tomorrow will be the elimination and it just may be another guy going home.

The women once again brought it!

Congrats to your hometown gal, SLA.

I, too, felt sorry for Lazaro. But, in general, I think the kid may be in over his head. The confidence just isn't there the way it is with the others.

I may be one of only a few dozen people in the world who isn't a Beatles fan. And I rarely enjoy the music on an "artist theme night." Call me crazy. Perhaps it's just my tendecy to rebel and I get disinterested when I see some of these artists put on a pedestal. lol. But I suppose there are few who have a song list long enough to choose from. Why bother?

I can't see why they don't just let these kids do their own thing. Why make them sing crap they'd never record in a million years? The judges complain if they sound too much like the original and want them to put their own spin on it. Why not just let them sing their own kind of music? Joe Cocker singing Whitney just wouldn't cut it for me.

Okay. Once again... rambling.

I didn't mind the Beatles songs but most of the contestants were not familiar with them so it was something new to them and I think they do this to either help the contestants grow or to weed out the ones that are not cut out for the show. I'm waiting to see if they are going to have them sing a song that was popular in the year that they were born. This again will probably be a song and/or artist they are not familiar with. Sometimes when they let the contestants pick out their own songs they do a lousy job of selection but that happens even on theme nights. I have also wondered towards the end when the judges pick out a song for each one to sing what the judges are thinking of - in the past it almost seemed by their choices you could tell who they wanted to get eliminated. We will see how it goes with this year. Sometimes it seems like the female judges only are interested in critiquing what the contestants are wearing. IMO opinion at this stage they should be more interested in critiquing their singing and song choices and worry about appearance makeovers latter.

Is Lazaro problem that his first language is Spanish? I remember in the earlier rounds, he didn't know any of the songs. I agree that he is in over his head. I haven't watched tonight, but I bet he will go home.

Well that was a surprising elimination. Not that I thought he would last til the end, but still Confused

I don't get what Jimmy is saying about Angie. Do you guys think she is overly dramatic?

I'm sorry but I'm not sure what you are asking about Angie, I thought Jimmy just told not to over think the song and to sing from her heart (not her head). I thought he told her not too over sing song but I did not take that as her being over dramatic.

I was surprised that Paul Jolly was eliminated tonight. I thought he was a better singer than Devin and Amber but then I could be tone deaf or just have different taste than others.

SLA- It was in his recap of her tonight. "We get a lot of young kids out of high school, they just dramatize everything. Angie is tooooo dramatic" "There is something wrong and we have to fix it."

I like Amber, but agree with you on Devin.

I like Angie and Cree the best right now. I think we will definitely have a female winner this year.

There is something missing for me this season. It seems small in comparison to last season. No one stood out for me in auditions this year, but I can't quite put my finger on what it is.

I missed part of tonight's show and I didn't hear his recap tonight so that is probably why I didn't understand what you were saying. The one only one that really stood out to me in the auditions that I say was Angie Miller when she sang her original song. The rest is kind of a blur to me.

Angie was a complete stand-out when she sang her original song. She's not been able to ring that bell again for me. Unless there are some songs in the future to match that, I think Kree or Candace will be the two girls left standing. I think Kree could be another Adele. Currently, none of the guys stand out, IMHO.

I've spent the season playing "look-alike." Paul Jolly reminded me of Jason Bateman. Devin looks kinda like a young Bobby Hatfield (Righteous Brother), and Kree is the spitting image of Rose from Two and a Half Men.

I'm with Jimmy on his comment that he sometimes doesn't know what the judges are thinking. I'll listen to a song that, to me, is wishy-washy and they praise it(This week, Amber). Other times, I think someone sounds really good and the judges pan the performance.

Based on performances, Lazaro should have gone home last night. Obviously, since he didn't even place in the bottom three, he has a pretty strong fan base, but I agree that he's in over his head.

Paul was doomed but it would have been nice to keep him around a little longer as eye candy.

I like all of the girls better than any of the guys this year and didn't think that Amber deserved to be in the bottom three.

Belle must be pleased to have seen two of her favourites - Phillip Phillips and Casey Abrams - in the past two weeks! Will Crystal be next?
