This season's BIP ratings

Apparently, the premiere of BIP didn't get very good ratings. I wonder if that was because they aired it on a Sunday night and most people expect it on Monday nights.
This from Variety magazine:
"On the heels of a strong ratings performance for “The Bachelorette” franchise, ABC opened the second season of spinoff series “Bachelor in Paradise” to nothing-special ratings on Sunday.
According to preliminary “live plus same-day” national
estimates from Nielsen, a repeat “America’s Funniest Home Videos” on ABC (0.7 rating/3 share in adults 18-49, 3.9 million viewers overall) was followed by the two-hour premiere of “Bachelor in Paradise” (1.1/4 in 18-49, 3.6 million viewers overall), which placed second to CBS’ “Big Brother” in its first hour before moving to the broadcast lead from 9 to 10.
“Paradise,” which will also be airing two hours on Monday (a regular episode and then a post-show discussion program), was down 0.3 from last year’s opener on a Monday.
The Alphabet had been averaging a 1.7 rating in 18-49 from 8 to 10 p.m. the previous six weeks with its successful reality pair of “Celebrity Family Feud” and “Battlebots.”
But the 1.1 for “Bachelor in Paradise” on Sunday 0.2 higher than the average for the comparable night a year ago with “Wipeout” and “Rising Star.”

Last night I watched Big Brother. I watched BIP on On Demand today. I think this two night thing is a bit over-kill. Who wants to sit down and devote two hours of prime time tv viewing two nights in a row to this? Not me.

I started a Big Brother topic in Other Favourite Shows hoping to begin some discourse about that show but no comments yet. Maybe the prospective viewers of BIP were simply exhausted. Am I the only one who thinks it took twice as much energy to watch Kaitlin's season as it usually takes for a Bach show?
I bet some people are all Bached out--except, of course, those who watch for purely academic and scientific purposes.

Belle -- I suspect a lot of folks were "bached out" after Kaitlyn's season. It did take a lot of energy and patience to get through it.
Like you, I watch for academic and scientific purposes, noting that two hours of trash TV at the end of a long day, two hours that requires no real intellectual effort, is good for a person. ROFLMAO.

I enjoyed BIP. I think I liked it better than the Bach and ette shows. It went by faster and more is going on and more people are getting together.

BIP was #13 last week with approx. 5 million viewers.

If we are being candid, BIP isn't really a very good show, is it Sis? I think I might quit it after next week. There are a couple of things I want to see if, and that's a big if, the previews are accurate.Starz wrote:BIP was #13 last week with approx. 5 million viewers.
