HOWDY, EVERYONE Empty HOWDY, EVERYONE

Post by CDRmom Wed Jul 29, 2015 7:48 am

Thank you, Shayvo, for pointing us to this site.  I didn't watch most of the season, but I did watch the finale.  We all knew that it was going to be Shawn.  Did you notice that both guys walked in with their hands in their pockets?  I kept shouting at the TV, "get your hands out of your pockets!!!"  I don't know if you've heard the little ditty that goes "change the name and not the letter; change for worse and not for better."  Bristowe to Booth.  Uh oh!  I sort of fell into that trap, but then I had three last names when I was born .. family tradition.  Someone the other board spoke of Shawn's lack of communication skills.  How true.  I loved Nick's ability to speak his mind.  He nailed it, she could only turn on the waterworks.

Next comes Dancing!  This will be me: Laughing  Anybody know when it starts?  Evidently all those former forums will be gone.  NBC did that same thing some time ago; I was sorry to miss out on the chatting about my favorite soap.  I think there is a separate section here for Dancing, yes?

Welcome, CDRmom.  I was on the ABC boards a long time ago.  Been here for a couple of years.  We have a section for DWTS, and a section for "other favorite shows," and other topics.  Hope you will have a look around the site and find yourself at home.

Any questions or problems, you can PM me or any of the other admins.  Out names are in bold face type in the members list.

Thank you, newto.  I too have been on the boards like forever.  Had many problems logging on and posting, this CDR is relatively new.  I'm better known as cappy.  Well, I hope this "CDR" won't be for very long.  Soon maybe, Laughing "CAPTmom".  lol

Do you see the EDIT button now?  It's in the upper right, next to the QUOTE button.

My wife thought I was nuts when I started talking about the idiots with their hands in their pockets.  Shawn also looked like a dork when he was trying to unbutton his jacket after he sat down.  I guess these guys weren't taught how to wear suits when they were kids.  I also don't understand how these guys are wearing suits and sports coats now a days.  It may be the fashion but they look like they are about two sizes too small.  Way too short and way too tight.

Isn't it a handsome thing when men wear suits that fit them properly.  I thought Nick was comfortable in his suit.  He's a business executive, probably used to wearing suits.  So glad someone else caught the hands-in-the-pockets thing.

Had I not read the spoilers, after years of watching the shows, it is a foregone conclusion that the first out of the limo, be it man or woman, they're not IT.

WW. I don't see a quote button or an edit button anywhere on my screen. Could it be because I'm on an iPad?

USN! Great to see you here. I haven't seen you much on the bac boards since Bach Chat went away. I really liked getting to know people through that. You all really helped me 5 years ago when my granddaughter (who was being raised by my husband & me for the first 5 1/2 years of her life) was suddenly picked up by her parents with no warning. She was hysterical being removed from the only home she had known and we were devastated. We didn't see her for 2 years, but now get to see her a little now and then. So I thank you from the bottom of my heart -- one grandma to another!!

Yes, it could be.  I don't know much about iPads but I think some of the tablets don't show everything.

WW, thanks so much. I'll try it on my computer. And I want to tell you how much I enjoy your wittiness! School is starting soon for me (Montessori teacher and school owner). So I'll be reading the boards way more often than writing. So even if I don't comment, I do so appreciate your words of wisdom!

My son, who is now middle-aged, was lucky enough to be in a Montessori preschool when he was three.  It was a wonderful experience!  Best wishes to you and the kids you're helping.

You are likely seeing the mobile version on your iPad as I was when I first arrived here. Some searching around led me to an arrow in a little box at the top right of the page. Click on the arrow and a choice of view will appear. Choose classic view. All the options will then be available.

Hi there Gm7!!  I haven't posted much on the ABC boards since the Bach Chat went away.  We had really nice posters on that thread, and you were one of them.  You're quite welcome.  My heart really went out to you and your husband.  I've often wondered if you were able to visit with her after that incident.  Are you still holding a 8 grandbabies?  We have 5 of them now.  The youngest was born last month.  I have missed you, and I'm looking forward to posting with you again.  ♥

I'm glad he had a great experience at his Montessori school!  I have been doing this since my kids were little and now they are all grown with kids of their own...but I'm still at it.  My school is beginning our 36th year this fall.  My how the time flies!

I actually have 9 grandbabies now with the youngest just turning 1 on July 16th.  With 3 kids still childless, I guess I should expect more!  My daughters each have 4 kids, plus my stepson has the granddaughter that lived with us.  We see her occasionally, but her parents are not very amenable to us seeing her more or even having her spend the night.  So she is sad, she would still like to spend more time with us and realizes her parents are keeping her from us.  Sad  Hopefully, as she gets older, she can have more say in seeing us.

Congratulations on grandbaby number nine.  HA!!  There's no way that I will be catching up with you.  My oldest son is not married, and it doesn't look like he is in a big hurry to do so, and the other two are finished.  I'm really sorry that things haven't progressed with the visitations.  Hopefully that situation will improve in time, and if it doesn't soon, I'm sure it will when she gets older.  Hugs to you, Gm!

Thank you so much Starz!  She is an incredible little girl and I need to remember to be thankful for the 5 years we had with her.  One day she'll be old enough to make her own decisions and then we should see her more.

I know how it is with some of those boys!  My two boys are not looking to get married any time soon either.  Are your boys still in the Navy?  Thanks for the kind thoughts about my granddaughter.  I have to trust God has a plan for her that is more wonderful than I can imagine and all that has happened to her will be needed for that plan.

You're welcome, GM.  You need that faith to get you through the tough ones.  My oldest boy decided not to reenlist again, so after 11 yrs he opted out.  My youngest is still in.  I think he wants to get out, too.  It's been 5 yrs since he was last deployed, and is due for deployment again.  Now that he has 3 kids, he doesn't want to end up back there.  So, we will see what happens.  Are you still making your trips out this way?

Absolutely love your flag rose.  My daughter has been in more than twenty years.  As long as she keeps being promoted, she'll stay, but she has only two more steps to go.  Now I have to figure out how to post a pix of my little PeeWee, my 5-lb chi.
