Hello...newbie here
I came from another board that is apparently closing down. I want to thank "shayvo" if they are here for posting the location of this board. I hope to see some familiar "faces". I'm going to have to study the "workings" of this board. I hope I can catch on quickly. I can tell it is a lot easier to log-in on this board...LOL The emoji's are hilarious...

Thanks USN. Did anyone see at ETonline the video of Kaitlyn and Shawn laughing about Nick? They were really mean.

You're welcome Hummdrumm. I did watch the video, and thought it was not very nice of them. I'm not a Nick fan, but I did think what they did was low.

Yea, that was mean, Hummdrumm. No, I'm not from S.F. I live in the San Joaquin Valley, but I do visit the city quite a bit. I'm actually from PA.

So USN, are you in Modesto or somewhere around there? I use to live in the Bay Area.

The weather is awful here, so you were smart not to buy in the valley. Are you still living in CA?

Re: Hello...newbie here
No. I moved out of state. My cousin had a bed & breakfast in Prescott AZ and I visited her twice, once in 2003 and in 2004. I like it so much that I purchased a house during my second trip. I had no problem selling my home within a couple of days back in 2003. People were outbidding themselves and I got quite a bit for my home in Fremont. Sometimes I miss California - when I visit...I can't wait to get back to Prescott. To much smog, bumper to bumper traffic and now a drought!

Re: Hello...newbie here
I imagine you did get a pretty good chunk of change selling a house in Fremont. I wish I could move out of CA> The air here is killing my lungs, and allergies are a big problem here. AZ is nice. I spent some time in Phoenix when I was stationed in San Diego.

Re: Hello...newbie here
You should travel up north from PHX. PHX is such a big city and hotter than heck. Prescott has cooler weather and snows just enough to enjoy. Never have to really shovel. Further north in Flagstaff...a different story...lots of snow. It is beautiful there though. Hopefully my daughter will go to NAU next year. Prescott has always been one of the top 10 places to retire. It is14 hours to drive to the Bay Area from Prescott.

Re: Hello...newbie here
I spent a three day weekend in PHX, it was in May, and the temps had reached 113. I felt like I was in an oven, it was suffocating. Are you close to Sedona? I would love to visit there.

Re: Hello...newbie here
OH....Sedona is nice. It's 1.5 hours away. It is so amazing...all the gigantic red rock. Every time I drive into Sedona...it's actually quite scary - only because the rocks are so large and red and breathtaking. You turn the corner at one point and you know you're in Sedona. If you were to travel here, I'd hit Sedona, Prescott and Flagstaff...the Grand Canyon is up north too. You could do all 4 places in a week but you would travel 1.5 to 2 hours a day just one way. Doing it all in one week would be okay but giving yourself a few extra days would be nice so you're not so crunched and exhausted. Vacationing can be exhausting. You would have to plan it out. Surf the internet for pictures of Sedona...you could find a slideshow of the red rocks...you have to picture yourself so small next to them to visualize the magnitude of these red rocks. Some of the red rocks look like a character - like one looks like Snoopy lying down on his back. Check out pictures of St. John Vianney Catholic Church...it's set up high within the rocks. It has an interesting story behind it.

Re: Hello...newbie here
I was planning on doing the Grand Canyon and Sedona trip. It probably won't be until next summer though. Thanks for the info.
I heard Sedona is really beautiful. Don't they have the atmospheric things going on there, too?

Yes. Some say when they drive in that they feel some vortex, spiritual-type, electric-type energy. I've never experienced anything. I did edit my previous post with more information on Sedona.

That's what I heard. I read some things about Sedona from someone who was into all of that healing and mysticism stuff. Thanks, I will definitely check out those pics.
