Alan has a potential winner.  Yay! I'm rooting for Alan and Mirai to go all the way!

Why is Kareem still there? No

I agree with this, but with such a short season, it may not be possible.

I love Jenna.  The Chmerkovskiy brothers have good taste.  She kind of reminds me of Peta.  She is very personable with a strong personality.  I love Josh's dancing.  I might want him to win.  I liked Jennie and Adam too.

I think they should have flamenco on the show.  I know it's not ballroom dancing, but I like it and it reminds of the tango.

I really enjoyed both Mirai and Adam, and I think they will be the ones I'll be rooting for.  Josh Norman looks like he could be a contender too--he looked really good with Sharna.  Jimmy Kimmel certainly thinks so as he is his pick to win.

I'm sure Alan and Jenna are thrilled to come back as newer pros, and to work with some real contenders.  Despite it being such a short season I think this will likely be a successful one for them no matter how they place.

Agree with pretty much everything you all have said. What an impressive start- especially the top three. Loads of talent and personality everywhere. Just why is the competition this fierce every time Sharna has a contender? I'm kidding, that's ok. So happy for my girl, but also that both Jenna and Alan can show what they are really capable of. When I saw Mirai do her splits, spins, and lifts, I thought Meryl was back. And Adam's movement quality in Latin is even better than Charlie's was. Josh's physicality reminds me of Antonio, but he had a far better start. It's quite unusual for an NFL player to top the leader board in week one- not even Emmit did that.
Time for confessions. I was expecting riot in the ballroom when Tonya appeared (kind of what happened with Ryan Lochte's debut), and I was ready to dislike her. After seeing her dance, I couldn't.
Kareem must have advanced based on popularity alone. He's not as old as The Chong though, and by far not as cool. It's safe to say he'll never make it to week ten. Cool

Kincaid, I miss you too!

Derek did a flamenco with Kellie, and so did Cheryl with Alfonso during switch up. And it definitely is closer to ballroom than jazz or contemporary.

I thought the whole show was pretty good.It does seem they rushed through it a bit.

Sad to see two dancers go the first night like that  .... that part was hard.

The only football player on the tennis team? Strange kind of humor. Not sure if putting Adam and Mirai together is a good idea. Could be overkill. At least Tom won't have to mention that a certain pro never lost a team-dance.

Yeah, Adam and Mirai on the same team seems like a stacked deck. They are great friends; Adam has choreographed routines for Mirai.

Why is it tennis and football team?  What does that mean?

I guess these are just given themes for the design of the dances. Like team past and team future on S23, if you remember that.

I don't care for the sports-themed dances since I don't like sports and I find it distracting and doesn't blend well with the dancing.  I wonder if they are naming the decades.  It's confusing.

I don't think that Mirai and Adam should be on the same team.

Well, there have been sports theme dances that worked fine: Riker and Allison's twenties baseball quickstep or Victoria and Val's ice hockey paso come to mind.
At least Kareem on the fifties team seems appropriate, he was born in '47...

I loved Riker and I'm sure some of the dances are good, but the uniforms are distracting.

Josh and Sharna: I think I liked it more than the judges did. Or two of them. Although I get where CAI is coming from. Final 3, I predict. Not going to pick a winner yet.

Week 2!

Josh & Sharna: Love his athleticism!  Would've preferred to see Josh dance with Sharna a bit more than with the troupe and he tended to throw his arms away but good start to the show.  Really hope we get to see them do a ballroom dance, especially with this short season.

Jennie & Keo: Aw, you can see the lack of rehearsal with the new choreography.  She has amazing legs but she lost timing and was a bit tentative with her feet which is a shame because, well, those legs!!  If she survives this week, she could be in trouble next week.
