Hurricane Harvey
Poor Texas. This is awful for them. I'm watching reports that say this is a 500 year storm.
FHM, I hope you are safe as well as others in Houston and Austin areas.
(I thought I posted this subject before but didn't see it, so hope this isn't a repeat.)

Thanks Mule. I never lost electricity, which was a blessing. and I was able to catch up on all the BIP shows (to the agony of my gf have to listen to me make grunting noises everytime Kristina came on).
We're not out of the woods by any means; this has to move out by tomorrow, or we're gonna be desperately low, or run out of food, and gasoline. Some forecasts are saying by the time it's outta here we'll have 40 - 50 inches !! That is a 500-yr projection!
Feel bad for all the old people and hospital patients who have to relocate. By the way, here is an aerial video of my neighborhood:

Thanks Babs, but this is now dire serious; it rained all day today! some places are looking like that Thailand Tsunami. I need my garbage hauled away. I got food to last to maybe Thur, but we need food & gas trucks to find a way into the city soon. It's gotta stop by tomorrow!!
PS: if you guys find my "flotation device", please just send me a PM, and I'd appreciate it if you kinda kept this between us:)

Thanks PeePee;
I was able to hunker down because I had electricity and I live in a mid-rise near downtown, so I was high and dry. But the real problems started over the weekend and this week. First, the grocery stores were wiped out - I even tried on a Sun Nite at 9:30 and there was literally no bread. Then the gas stations are hit-miss, with a lot of empty stations; I still haven't gassed up yet.
Then yesterday, first day back from school and work cancellations, and look at the aerial pic of our freeways ?#@?? All the traffic lights are out and a lot of the major arteries that feed our highways are still underwater, or closed. Sucks.

BBUUUWHAHAHHAHAHAH.... very funny Mule, you Big Blister.
Actually, the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey has been pretty bad; traffic lights out, grocery and gas stores wiped out. I spent a few day hauling furniture around and ripped out some dry wall. But there are some really good Humanitarian stories to come from this.... people are good!
