Ron had made the Semi-pro Polo Team at the elite club he had
wooed and was an extremely happy man. He spent his days riding his new
horse, a beautiful Arabian, that was one of the finest money could buy, playing
golf with some newfound buddies, lunching at the club, and working on his
exceptional tan. When Louise came home after a hard day of accounting,
Ron was usually waiting for her in the hot tub with a nice wine or champagne
chilling in the stand nearby. Ron welcomed Louise into the hot
tub, whispering romantic suggestions in her ear as he massaged the knots
out of her neck and back. Louise was head-over-heels in love with her
wonderful husband and was already sporting the beginning of a “baby bump,”
although the Wikids were waiting until the right time to announce their
news. (Sssh! Don’t tell!)

Bonnie and Fred were planning a big surprise for the final
Monday night of the Bonnet Bachelorette Show. They took Chris Harrison
into their confidence and Chris grinned from ear to ear . . . . Robert
(the chef from Miami Heat) and Stacy (Louise’s best friend) were getting along
very well. They especially enjoyed the games of Strip Poker that they
played alone together in Robert’s apartment. They also enjoyed chasing
each other around after the game until one of them caught the other . . . .
Fernando and Martha were taking things at a much slower pace. Fernando
had finally won Pedro’s approval to date his sister, but he knew that Martha
was “wife” material, so he was on his best behavior. Fernando respected
her, cared about her, and was concentrating on getting to know Martha and
showing her the qualities he had to offer as a potential husband . . . .
Juan (the butler) and Colleen (the cook) had gotten married and taken a
brief honeymoon to St. Augustine, Florida, America’s oldest city. They
hadn’t actually seen too much of St. Augustine, being preoccupied with the
honeymoon part of the trip, but it had been nice to get away from the Castle
for a few days . . . . Pedro (the Bonnet’s handyman and groundskeeper)
and his wife, Martina, had thrown caution to the wind and forgotten all about
that vasectomy and were now trying for child number five, thinking how nice it
would be for little Chip to have a little brother!

Everyone had been asking the twins how they chose the names
for their puppies and so Jenny and Penny were brought before the camera to
address that very issue. Jenny explained that she and Penny had decided to
expand their relief efforts to include animals, and that idea lent itself
further to advocacy for victims rights: rights for canines, felines, and
humans. The name Justine appealed to Jenny an several levels, but she limited
the discussion to two: "Just" was for the justice she wanted to have
a hand in bringing about in the world, and "Tine" was for Tina
Fey-still her fav in the comedy world. Penny stated that she chose the name
Petunia Rose simply because she loved it. She didn't choose it because it
started with the letter "P," which in itself was a switch. She did
mention that she was working on a more significant explanation than that but
was not yet ready to reveal it. The cameramen finished up their filming and the
girls were relieved their "secret" wasn't discovered. As soon as the
"all clear" was given by Jason, Ty came running out and gave the
girls big hugs and kisses. He had come back with Jason on the plane to have
more time with the Bonnet family and Jenny-as well as the puppies. And he came
bearing presents! He brought little balls for the puppies in every color of the
rainbow, and they were soft and small enough to carry in their mouths. Jason
and Dakota waited till the puppies were three months old before taking them
home so the dogs were old enough to run and play. Jenny had sent a web cam to
Seattle so she and Penny as well as their parents could get to know Ty better
and vice versa. When Ty saw the puppies he was smitten and wanted to meet the
puppies. He and Jenny talked at least twice a day via the web cam and Ty was so
comfortable with her it was uncanny. Ty spent that first day running from room
to room enjoying the freedom of movement that only a child could express! Mr.
and Mrs B. so loved having a small child in the castle again that they had
planned the child proofing necessary for the grounds and home ahead of time.
Extra precautions were taken before Ty got there so all would be able to enjoy
their time together from day 1. Jenny had found that caring for those puppies
had come in handy: she was a little more on her toes around Ty now, and he was
content to spend much of his time wherever the the little ones were...

After Paul and Lara returned home from Nashville, Paul
suprised her with a trip to Canada to meet his family. They had a
wonderful time. Lara felt right at home with all of them, especially
Paul's sister, Veronica, who was a pianist. She and Lara spent a lot of
time entertaining the rest of the family with their music.

Paul took Lara on the typical "family history
tour" where she saw all of Paul's old hangouts. It was on the
playground of his elementary school that Lara couldn't wait another
moment. They were on the swings (naturally-all their big moments seemed
to involve swings) when she felt the words explode from her. "I love you,
Paul!" she shouted as she swung past him. "What?" he
yelled back.

"I said, I love you, Paul!" Paul jumped out
of his swing and grabbed Lara's in midair. His hands closed over hers as
he said, "That is very good, because I love you too. I want to spend
my life with you. Will you marry me?"

She hadn't expected that and she was so startled that she
slid off of the swing. Paul caught her and held her close. She
began to sputter. "I-I have to uh finish school. I didn't plan
on this happening. Not really. I know the show is all about this
but-"

Paul cut her off with a brief kiss saying, "I
know. I called my boss and they are arranging for a transfer to our
branch in Indianapolis. We could live halfway in between Indianapolis and
Bloomington and we could commute. When you are finished with school we
will just see where your career takes us. I know you are young, but I
think you know that we are a perfect fit. And I love you so much."

Lara threw herself into his arms, crying and saying,
"Yes! Oh YES!" both at once. That night, when the family
gathered for supper, he formally proposed to her again and this time was ready
with a beautiful vintage diamond ring that had belonged to his
grandmother. "They were married 56 years, so I figure it will bring
us luck," he told her as he slipped it on her finger while his family
cheered. They really couldn't hear them though, because they were the
only two people existing in each other's eyes at that moment.

When they arrived back home they were exstaticaaly greeted
by Tara and Jerry. They laughed at Jerry's story about the very drunk
Tara who tried to go to an AA meeting right after she got over her
hangover. He had finally convinced her that she was not an
alcoholic. She just couldn't hold her liquor! Aside from that,
their honeymoon had been pure maigic. They were very happy for Lara and
Paul.

Lara had fallen for Justine, Jelly Bean and Petunia
Rose. She was so crazy about them that Paul drove her to the Animal
Shelter the very next day. They both fell madly in love with a five year
old terrier mix. Lara promptly named her Dorothy because she looked like
a bigger version of Toto.

Mrs. B laughed and shook her head when they got home.
They had never had pets before and now they were crawling with them. She
asked Tara and Jerry what kind of dog they were getting. They looked
confused for a moment, then they laughed as Tara said, "No dog! We
are planning on adding to the family though."

Mrs. B looked confused. "Now you aren't bringing
any lizards into my house!" Tara just grinned and shook her
head. No lizards, Mom. We have somethng different in mind.
Then Mrs B noticed that Tara's hand was lightly resting on her stomach.
He eyes widened and she breathed in deep as she said, "Are you?"

Tara laughed and grabbed her mother's hand. "Yes,
Mom, I really am pregger this time!" Mes. B laughed and cried,
then hugged the happy couple.

Suzie Q. and Bob had visited Phoenix first. Suzie had
met Bob’s parents who were also both tall blondes and very healthy, fit parents
who were into tennis and jogging and good eating. They took an
immediately liking to Suzie, as she did to them. While in the Phoenix
area, Bob and Suzie had gone tubing on the Snake River. Bob had
thoughtfully reminded Suzie several times during the day to reapply her #30
Sunblock. The Phoenix sun could be severe and Bob had seen many cases of
sun poisoning and it was a good thing he had been so attentive, because Suzie
still got a little sunburn around her neck, upper chest and legs, but nothing
enough to slow her down. From Phoenix, they drove north to Flagstaff,
stopping overnight in the fascinating and beautiful red rock area of Sedona and
driving through Oak Creek Canyon on the final leg of the trip to
Flagstaff. Along the way, they stopped at a lookout area with a
magnificent view and a huge drop to the canyon floor below. In Flagstaff,
the scenery changed from arid dessert to pine forest and Bob was proud to give
Suzie a tour of his log cabin style home that he had purchased a year ago.
It had a great room, combining living room, dining space and kitchen on the
first floor and two bedrooms on the second with a connecting bathroom.
The first floor also had a half bath and a mud room that served double-duty as
a laundry room. Suzie was impressed by the cozy, practical, and
neat-as-a-pin home and found that the more she knew Bob the more she
liked him. He was the “real deal” - a great guy who was
intelligent, nice, thoughtful, educated, and gorgeous. Bob also had a
lovely golden retriever dog called Scout that Suzie found totally
charming. The following day Bob took Suzie to the Grand Canyon and it was
love at first sight!

Over the next few days, Bonnie took each of her sisters aside,
one by one, to discuss something very important. They all were excited
and looked pleased about the “Big Secret” for Monday night and the Final
Cocktail Party. Then Bonnie met with the household staff in the kitchen
and filled them in on how they could help.

Mrs. B. had to admit she was loving the little critters
running throughout the castle of late but soon realized that with pets, comes
the responsibility of grooming and the cleaning up after them. She woke Jenny
and Penny to help with the vacuuming and dusting as there was quite a bit of
shed fur about the place. Since Jason and Dakota had taken Ty out for a game of
Goofy Golf, the girls were free to help their mother in the preparations for
the final cocktail party. The girls gathered their gear and began cleaning with
the best intentions. They did however bog down somewhat in the monotony of it.
They decided to forego the usual ipod accessory, and turned the stereo on in
their father's study instead. They put on their new favorite cd-the one by
Chris Ayer- and sang and danced and cleaned with abandon. Mrs. B. heard the
ruckus and went to the study to find out what the twins were up to. When she
heard what they were listening to she couldn't help but join in on the catchy
tunes that actually contained very thoughtful lyrics. After listening for a few
minutes, she called Mr. B. into his study and told him to check out the great
music the girls had been playing. She said it reminded her a little of James
Taylor and Paul Simon from their younger years. Mr. B. was in total agreement,
and wanted to hear more. After playing 'We Are Birds,' 'Evaporate,' and 'Fall
Away State I'm In,' Jenny and Penny played his latest song "Awake' for
them. Well they were blown away when they heard it. The vocals melted like
butter on their ears, the guitar was fluid and smooth, and the lyrics were so
full of meaningful twists and surprising turns that they were hooked. Mr. and
Mrs. B. had grown up in the 60's and 70's and appreciated music in this form-
poetry in motion, mixed with this generation's concerns, yet it had a style all
its own. Jenny and Penny's parents were rockin' out with them cleaning as they
went along, and soon the room was sparkling as much as the spirits of the four.
Music always lightens a burden whether it be personal or physical, and the
Bonnets felt they had found a new "friend."

Nice touch,
Chips! Here we go for the big finish!

* * * * * * * * * *

On Monday night, the Castle shone and sparkled. Candles
lit a pathway from the front door to the Grand Ballroom. Guests started
arriving promptly at 7:00 PM and Chris greeted them at the door and welcomed
them to the party. Many of the former Bachelors who had been eliminated
decided to attend with dates. After all, many of the Bonnet sisters had
played matchmaker and found their former Bachelors a perfect match, so there
were few hard feelings. There was lots of excitement and anticipation in
the air, however, since the fate of several Bonnet sisters still needed to be
announced. Soon the Ballroom filled with a crowd of 125 guests. It
was a room full of happy couples running into friends and catching up on the
latest news. The ABC fans at home in their living rooms were thrilled to have
another four hour show to watch. Of course, the show included lots of
previously shown scenes, recapping the relationships that had developed, but
there was also some new footage that hadn’t been shown before and that always
delighted the viewing audience.

A raised dais had been set up at one end of the Ballroom
forming a stage and a red velvet curtain was pulled closed three feet behind
the front of the platform. This unusual staging led to some guesses and
predictions about what that all meant. At 7:30, Chris Harrison took the
stage and approached the microphone. “Ladies and Gentlemen, on behalf of
ABC I am pleased to welcome you this evening to an unprecedented event and our
Final Cocktail Party for the Bonnet Bachelorettes. Before we begin, I’d
just like to say what a pleasure it has been for me personally and America, as
well, to get to know the wonderful Bonnet family and their beautiful, talented,
and extremely lovely daughters. Tonight we will learn the final decisions
they have made about their Bachelors. So, if you are at home, please sit
down and enjoy our final four hour episode of The Bonnet Bachelorettes.”

At this point, Bonnie Bonnet came forward with Fred on her
arm and took the microphone. “Good evening! Fred and I have a
special announcement to make. Tomorrow is a very important day for our
family. I am pleased to announce that it will be the 35th Anniversary of
my parents, Mr. & Mrs. Jeremiah Bullfrog Bonnet. Mom and Dad, you
didn’t know we were going to do this, but we love you and want the world to
know what wonderful parents you have been. Your marriage has been a true
love story and you have set an example for us of how happy a couple can
be. Please come up and let us honor you this evening as we celebrate your
marriage.”

Mrs. B. looked like she might faint, but Mr. B. grabbed her
and steadied her on her feet, saying, “No dear, not tonight! We’re going
to enjoy every minute of this!” “Yes, dear!” said Mrs. B. who looked
lovely with her hair in that Eva Gabor style French Twist and a beautiful Rose
chiffon evening gown. Mr. B. was wearing his best Tux and they made a
striking couple as they walked to the dais accompanied by applause and
cheers. The curtain opened to reveal two throne-like chairs for Mr. and
Mrs. B. to sit in and enjoy the developments of the evening. Behind the
thrones was a red velvet curtain that served as a backdrop. Spelled out
on the curtain in glittering letters was “Happy 35th Anniversary!” On the left of the words was an
enlarged photograph of Mr. and Mrs. B. on their wedding day, 35 years
before. On the right, there was a recent photograph, also enlarged, of
the couple looking their best. Mr. and Mrs. B. were led to their seats by
Bonnie and Fred and were touched by the photos celebrating 35 years.

Bonnie then addressed the audience. “In some
ways, it’s hard to believe that ten weeks have gone by with my sisters and me
on this Bonnet Bachelorette Show, but so much has happened, it’s also hard to
believe it hasn’t been longer. Tonight, I’d like everyone to know that
Fred and I are definitely getting married and we have chosen a date!”
Fred then took the microphone, “Bonnie and I will be getting married on the
First Day of Spring, Saturday, March 21, 2009. We will be married here at
the Castle by a favorite bench of ours in the garden. We have decided to
have a private wedding, so it will not be televised, but we will allow ABC to
tape enough of the ceremony and reception that fans of the show will be able to
share our special day at some time in the future.”

Bonnie then took back the microphone, “I want everyone to
know how happy Fred and I are that we have found each other and we will always
remember this experience fondly.” Jane and Fred then walked to Mr. &
Mrs. B. Jane said, “Mom and Dad, I want you to know how much I love
you. It is a wonderful thing to celebrate 35 years of marriage,
especially in this day and age!” Bonnie took a huge bouquet of Tea Roses
that had been carried up on the stage by Martha (the general maid) and handed them to her mother, kissing her on
the cheek. She then put a matching rose boutonnière in the lapel of her
father’s jacket and kissed him as well. She took an envelope from Fred
and held it out to her parents, saying, “Mom and Dad, on behalf of my sisters
and ABC TV, I am presenting you with two tickets to Scotland for a two week
35th Anniversary trip with all expenses paid. We want you to enjoy
visiting the land of our forefathers and have some time to be a couple away
from all the cares of running the Castle and our family. We love you both
so much!” Again, Bonnie kissed both of her parents, before leaving the
stage with Fred.

Jane and Jeremy walked onto the stage next and Jane took the
microphone, “Well, as some of you may know, Jeremy and I didn’t get off to the
best of starts, but we’ve ended up putting our differences aside and are
pleased to announce that we are now officially engaged!” Jane held up her
left hand to reveal the glistening “perfect” 3 karat diamond ring she was
wearing. “We haven’t set a date, but plan to be engaged for a year before
we marry.” Jeremy took the mike and added, “I just want to thank Chris
Harrison and ABC for making me a very happy man! I’d also like to remind
everyone that ‘Pride goeth before a fall ’and I have fallen head-over-heals in
love with this engaging smartypants of mine who seems to have let her prejudice
go as well. That’s kind of a personal joke, folks!” Jane kissed
Jeremy and took back the mike. They walked to where Mr. & Mrs. B.
were sitting. Jane looked lovingly at her parents and said, “You two have
been wonderful parents. You have given us a wonderful life. My gjft
for you on your 35th Anniversary is a story I have written just for you about
our life as a family. It reminisces about all the good times we’ve had
and tells about our Scottish Teas, our family vacations, and other favorite
anecdotes that are pure Bonnet fun.” Jane handed her father a neatly
wrapped manuscript tied up with a green satin bow. She kissed and hugged
her father and then her mother before taking Jeremy’s hand and leaving the
stage.

Suzie Q. and Bob arrived next. Suzie took the
microphone and said, “Bob and I have a surprise for everyone. When we
took our trip to Arizona, we made a side trip to Las Vegas on the way
home. We’re married everyone!” Mrs. B. who was already overwhelmed
by the celebration of her Anniversary and all of the gifts, started to cry with
tears of happiness. She and Mr. B. both jumped up and happily
congratulated Suzie & Bob. Bob took the microphone, “Suzie and I
decided that we each knew we had found our soul mate and there was just no
reason to wait, so we eloped because we want to be together forever.” The
Ballroom filled with another round of applause and cheers for the newly married
couple which led to a commercial break.

When the show resumed, things had calmed down. Suzie
had the mike again and Mr. and Mrs. B. were seated again. “Mom and Dad,
Bob and I have decided to live in Flagstaff, Arizona. It just makes
sense. As a nurse, I can work anywhere and Bob has a wonderful life there
that I’ve decided I want to be a part of. So, our gift to you is a trip
to visit us after you’ve had your trip to Scotland and we’ve had a chance to
settle in as a married couple ourselves. So, here is a card with a “rain check” for a trip to Flagstaff,
redeemable in the near future. I love you both so much!” And again,
there was a round of hugs, kisses, and a few tears.

The next couple to arrive at the dais were Louise and
Ron Wikid. They looked very pleased with themselves as they walked onto
the stage. Louise announced, “Well, I guess everyone knows that we’re
already married! But we do have some news and a very special gift for
you, Mom and Dad! Ron and I are having a baby! Your first
grandchild is on the way! How’s that for an Anniversary present?” (Now Louise knew that Tara and
Jerry had already indicated that a grandchild was on the way from them, but
since Ron and Louise had had a head start, Louise was correct that they would
be the parents of Mr. and Mrs. Bonnet’s first grandchild.)
So,
another round of applause, hugs, and kisses were necessary.

When Jenny and Penny took the mike Jason and Dakota went up
with them. Both girls were feeling so emotional because they had just gotten
some very much needed one on one time with their parents and their hearts were
so full of love, they were overcome. Penny spoke first, as the girls were
becoming more comfortable changing up their roles. "Mom and Dad, we are so
grateful for you and for all the patience you've shown raising 10 daughters. We
love you and are so happy to be able to celebrate such a momentous occasion
with you. You have never failed to teach us right from wrong and still make us
be certain of your love. You always encouraged us to follow our dreams even if
we drove you crazy in the process. Our first gift to you is another trip - a
trip to New York City to see our and your favorite musical artist, Chris Ayer.
He will be performing at The Cutting Room
on November 14
th - our birthday! We want to celebrate it with you to
thank you for always being there for us and what better way to celebrate that
day than to be with the people that gave us life!!"

Jenny then took the mike and introduced their second gift - Dakota
carried out a little wriggly Scottish terrier puppy and handed her to Mrs. B.
"Mom and Dad, we know you will be missing some of the little babies in
this house after some of us move out and take ours with us. This little puppy
was rescued from a puppy mill, the same day our little girls were. We knew you
couldn't resist her-she is beyond precious!!" Mrs. B. was blubbering like
Penny but managed to shout out that she always loved Eric Clapton, and without
a doubt was naming this puppy Layla!! Both girls and their beaus gave the
Bonnet parents hugs and kisses and the twins were about to leave the stage, but
their father stopped them.

Jenny and Penny were given a blue tooth as were Jason and
Dakota. The girls were very confused as they were not a part of this plan. Both
Jason and Dakota seated the girls onstage, and Ty stepped forward to stand near
Jason. Mr. and Mrs. B. were beaming and crying at the same time. Suddenly their
little chihuahuas were trotting toward them on leashes (who knew they were
leash trained?), wearing little ribbons around their necks. Ty walked over to
Jenny, and pulled out the most singularly beautiful red rose that Jenny had
ever seen. He looked her straight in the eyes (she was sitting), and asked her
in the cutest voice ever in bachelor history, Miss Jenny, will you accept this
rose and be my step mommy?" Jenny blubbered so hard she couldn't see a
thing except for that cute little smile of Ty's! Jenny accepted the rose
wordlessly in between the tears and gave Ty the biggest hug she could manage.
Then Jason got down on one knee and told Jenny how he couldn't live one day
without her in his life and would she do him the honor of being his wife? Jenny
told Jason she would until the end of time! Jason took Jenny's hand in his and
Ty took the ring off the ribbon tied around Justine Jelly Bean's neck and gave
it to his father. Jason placed it lovingly on Jenny's finger, and kissed her
till the lights faded to black-for them.

Then Dakota walked over to Penny and took her hands. He
looked into her eyes and said,"Penny, you are the most unusual person I
have ever met. There isn't anything in the world I wouldn't do for you! I
couldn't make it through one day on this earth without your laughter and I
would go anywhere with you just to sit underneath your smile! Penelope Ann
Bonnet I want to travel the world with you-will you marry me?" Penny told
Dakota that he was the only man that understood her antics and loved her
because of them. And then she whispered,"You see Nana-I finally got it
right-I love you Dakota and want you to be the center of my next
adventure-yes!" Well the oxygen tanks practically had to be brought out
for the guests of honor, with all of the "surprises" going on, but
who could expect anything less from these remarkable, outgoing young women?
Chris Harrison was sweating bullets trying to get this all moving along and not
cut into the emotion of the moment. Hugs were then given to all, by all, and
for all...

After the commotion from the marriage proposals (that happened live on ABC) dissipated
somewhat, Penny looked down and saw her sweet Petunia Rose sitting there and
looking up at her, just waiting. Then Penny realized that she and Dakota had
forgotten to finish what they had started! Dakota leaned down and took the ring
from the ribbon (a pink one of course!) that graced Petunia Rose's neck. And
after Penny kissed him again, he placed it on her finger and kissed her hand
for good measure. Leave it to Penny to forget the highlight of the proposal.
Dakota was beginning to think that some of Penny's "head in the
clouds" take on life was rubbing off on him. Just before it was Lara's
turn to take the stage, a beeping sound could be heard emanating from Penny's
wrist corsage. "Oops-gotta take this," she mumbled. As she read the
text she laughed. She turned to Dakota and said-"I want to go on the most
venturesome honeymoon ever-but that does NOT include the Blue Moon Motel in
Canadian TX!" The crowd was puzzled by Penny's announcement, but then she
told them to read Suspect Snoop's post on her vacation blog and they would
readily understand it-haha!...

Aw, Thanks,
Chip! We all make a great team and I'm sure we'll find something to
collaborate on sometime in the future. I'll miss it too! And yes,
Tenner, it seems like a "real" show to me, too!

During the commercial break, ABC ran a catchy new theme song
for the upcoming Bachelor show that would be featuring Brian as the Bachelor,
now that it was known officially that Jason was "taken."

The new song went:

Looking for LOVES in too
many places

Looking for LOVES in too
many faces

Oh, oh, oh, we're looking for
LO-OV-OVES!

Out in L.A., Fleiss got on the intercom to his
assistant: “Get that Loves Romance girl back on the job! And make
that pronto!”

Sara didn’t know why, but Chris Harrison told her to go
next, even though Tara hadn’t gone. She supposed it was one of those “the show must go on things.” So,
Sara and Richard walked up to the platform and Sara took the microphone.
“Richard and I are so happy to finally be able to share our news with our
families, all of the faculty and students at Miami North High School, and any
ABC fans out there, that we are in love and will be getting married some time
in the future!” She then took a large book that Richard had been holding
and went to her parents. “Mom and Dad, my present to you on your 35th
Anniversary is a book I have written about our Bonnet Genealogy and Family
History. It traces our family back to the year 616 in Scotland and
includes interesting stories and pictures of ancestors that I have been
able to find. I hope you will enjoy this as much as I have enjoyed writing
it.” “How wonderful!” said Mrs. Bonnet. “Thank you, Sara, dear!”
said Mr. B. Once again, there was applause, hugs, and kisses.

Arm and arm and madly on love, Kara and Twilley stepped
forward. They announced they would be getting married on Valentine's Day (Awwwwww!)(But of course!) Twilley announced they would be giving Mr. and Mrs. Bonnett one of his eco-friendly cars that got 200 miles per
gallon!!!

Then, Kara called Mary and Joe forward. Mary blushed like a schoolgirl as Kara
announced the SECRET: Joe and Mary were already married. They had done so in
private with just Kara and Twilley in attendance, right after they were done
with their animal relief efforts. Joe joyfully announced that he had bought the
mansion right next door~for Mary! They
would live there for the rest of their lives, with plenty of room for Twilley
and Kara to use as home base. For the universe had been sending a message to
Twill~before he ended up in the hospital, every where he went, from the mouths
of friends, on bumper stickers, cereal boxes, heck even on tv, the message had
been loud and clear~SLOW DOWN! He had
ignored this at his own peril. So lovely Kara and her beau were planning on
taking a whole year off, to travel the world! " And then, Mother," Kara smiled at Mrs.
B.,"We'll be right next door, along with our seven little girls we hope to
have!" At this Mrs. Bonnett was beside herself with
joy, knowing both her beloved Mary and her quiet, loving daughter would be so
close!!! There wasn't a dry eye in the
castle, beholding such happiness!

Tara and Jerry arrived at the party late. Tara was
embarassed to admit she had been stuck in the bathroom with some rather violent
"morning sickness". Lara had stayed with her to help her
through. Tara felt much better now, but had some crackers in her evening
bag, just in case. She and Jerry came up to her parents on stage and
hugged them happily. She took the mic. and thanked them for all the
loving, crazy years growing up in the Bonnet Castle. Then she proudly introduced
Jerry as her husband and the father of Mr. and Mrs. Bs 2nd grandchild.
Jerry thanked them for raising his beautiful wife. Then he looked to the
camera, winked, and said, "Thanks Jen! Hope you are as happy as we
are!" Tara then gave her parents a small package. Mrs. B
opened it and was suprised to find a single, large quilt block.

"I made it out of one of my favorite old dresses.
I want each of my sisters to supply me with fabric from something special in
their past. I will make a quilt block for each one of them and for your
two new granchidren. Of course, by the time I finish with those I have a
feeling I will be needing to make a few more. And Jenny, could you and Ty
pick out something of his so that I can put his block in the quilt too?"

Jenny teared up again and assured Tara that she would indeed
do that. Mr. and Mrs. Bonnet were very excited at the thought of a
new family heirloom to represent them all.

Last of all, Lara and Paul stepped up on the stage with
Dorothy following close behind them. She took great interest in Layla and
obviously considered her a cousin since they were both types of terriers.

Lara happily announced to her parents and the other guests
that she and Paul were also engaged. We haven't set a date yet, but I've
promised Paul he won't have to wait too much longer!" Everyone but
Paul looked a little confused at this comment, but Paul smiled even as a red
blush colored his face. He happily pulled Lara into a kiss and bent her
over in the best Hollywood fashion.

At the news that their baby had also found her soulmate, Mr.
and Mrs. B hugged first the blissful couple and then each other as tears
streamed down their cheeks. Chris Harrison and Micheal Fleiss were
dancing a jig off the side of the stage. This show had succeeded beyond
their wildest dreams. All 10 had found their matches!! America
would love this season!

Lara lifted the mic. again and said, "Happy Anniversary
Mom and Dad! You know we spend a lot of time in Tennesee. We kind
of fell in love with Country Music there. Our gift to you is a song about
the lasting love of Johnny Cash and his wife, June Carter. But we changed
the words just a little.

The band took a signal from Paul and began to play.
Lara and Paul faced her parents and with love radiating from their faces, began
to sing.

Oh there's something 'bout a man in black,
Makes me want to buy a cadillac,
Throw the top back,
And roll down to Jackson town,
I wanna be there on the stage with you,
You and I could be the next rage to,
Hear the crowd roar,
Make 'em one more,
I'll kick the footlights out,

I wanna love like Mom and Dad,
Rings of fire burnin' with you,
I wanna walk the line,
Walk the line,
'Till the end of time,
I wanna love,
Love ya that much,
Cash it all in,
Give it all up,
Where you go,
I wanna go too,
Like Mom and Dad,

I wanna hold you baby right or wrong,
Build a world around a country song,
Pray a sweet prayer,
Follow you there,
Down in history,

I wanna love like Mom and Dad,
Rings of fire burnin' with you,
I wanna walk the line,
Walk the line,
'Till the end of time,
I wanna love,
Love ya that much,
Cash it all in,
Give it all up,
Where you go,
I wanna go too,
LikeMom and Dad

Like Mom and Dad,
More than life itself,
No-one else,
This here is promise,
They don't make love like that anymore,
Is that too much to be askin' for,

I wanna love like Mom and Dad,
Rings of fire burnin' with you,
I wanna walk the line,
Walk the line,
'Till the end of time,
I wanna love,
Love ya that much,
Cash it all in,
Give it all up,
Where you go,
I wanna go too,
Like Mom and Dad,

Like Mom and Dad,
And when we're gone,
There'll be no tears to cry,
Only memories of our lives,
They'll remember, remember,
A love like that.

As the last note died away everyone had to wipe tears from
their eyes. It was a perfect way to end this part of the party; a tribute
to lasting love that was a legacy for each of the Bonnet women.
