I converted from Idol. Just couldn't take the ladies any longer. The show has lost its zip.
SO...I watched the first two hours of recap on The Voice last night. I really love the addition of Shakira and Usher. The interplay between the coaches is compelling. Nice people.
Loads of talent. I liked the Mark ?? guy and the bluesy sound he has. I forget who got him. Missed the second two hours due to Revenge/TWD at nine and Red Widow/Talking Dead at ten. Glad The Voice isn't a regular on Sunday. I'll be looking forward to the rest of the season.

Singly I agree with you about American Idol and the diva judges. The only judge I really like on there this season is Keith Urban who seems to really try to give the contestants good feedback and not the nonsense the divas dish out. Plus Randy Jackson's continual us of "dawg" and that was a "bomb" are really tiresome.
I really like the two new coaches on The Voice and have always loved Blake and Adam and the way they joke back and forth between each other. I think Usher and Sharika fit in nicely and look forward to this season. Singly the next two hours of the blind additions do not air until night and is on at the same time as DWTS unfortunately. So I watch the recaps on-line of The Voice after DWTS is over and then tomorrow night the blind auditions come on before DWTS so I can watch it live.

I'll probably tape both DWTS and The Voice. I like using f'fwd through commercials. Watch 1/2 hour, then begin tape of the other until you catch up. Then switch back, if necessary. lol. Sounds complicated, right? Anything to avoid the commercials.
I wasn't crazy about Christina's "diva-ness" in prior seasons, but find Shakira delightful.

Yes I find the difference between Christina and Shakira refreshing!

OMG. I can't remember the last time I enjoyed a show so much. These four coaches are wonderful together. They seem to genuinely like each other and the repartee is hilarious. I was laughing out loud all through the show.
I've always liked Blake's persona, but he's rapidly becoming my hero. Big, affectionate, good-humored. Like a big teddy bear. Loving this!!!

Singly I so agree with you on Blake, but then he is my favorite coach and has been since the show started. I was only able to watch some clips from last night's show but will try to catch up on the full episode today before the next set of blind auditions start tonight. I like the repartee between these four coaches better than it was with CeeLo and Christina and hope they keep these four together for the future!

Me, too. Shakira is reminding me of someone. Is it a young Jamie Gertz?

I am not familiar with Jamie Gertz, so I must not watch anything that she is staring in if she is on TV. But I was not familiar with Shakira either had only heard her name but so far I have really liked her on the Voice!

Re: Auditions Comments
I finished watching last night's episode of the blind auditions and am thoroughly enjoying this season so far. I am ready to watch tonight's blind auditions and hope they are as good as last nights. This group of coaches are so good together I think this is going to be the best season ever!

I like Patrick, who sang "Walking in Memphis." This is shaping up to be a good season. I'd watch just to listen to the four coaches compete to win team members. lol.

Patrick was great and loved that he picked Team Adam. Adam to me has the best team so far but will be hard for him when the battle rounds start. He will have to play it very smart on who he picks to battle against each other.

Good to see you on the thread, Whit.
I also liked Mark "Somebody" who ended up on Shakira's team, I believe. Since music went to hell with rap, I've come to greatly enjoy a bluesy sound when I hear it.
Guess I've got my 'granny pants' on, but for me, without a melody - it isn't music.
