Moo, those are great songs, and wonderful memories. Now I'm going to ask
you to do something for me...haha, go back and listen to Black dog again, only this
time, imagine you are hearing only the drums, you block out all the other instruments
and that is how I used to hear that song. My older brother would put on headphones
the size used on an airstrip and listen to the whole album in his head while we only
heard him on the drums. Most of my youth was spent learning the songs by their
drummers abilities. Fast forward 40 years and it has been my younger brother to be
a professional drummer.....go figure.

moo2meow wrote:Yes. It is more than cowboys & horses. Breathe was played so much on the radio,(even the pop Radio) that it's still hard to listen to. Shania had only a few out that was listenable,(my opinion only,[m.o.o.]). Frankie Goes To Hollywood never really caught  hold here in the states.

Must be the ocean that separates us. Frankie was big here in the 80's. I still have the 12" maxi singles of Relax, Two Tribes, and Welcome To The Pleasurdome. Faith Hill though was never more than an insider tip. But I know what you mean. Airplay, heavy rotation as they called it on MTV, has killed many a great song for me either. Now to round off our little country collection, here are the giants.

Btw: thanks for the Bee Gees- Team SharNick's Samba to that song was my favorite dance last season!!
The Highwaymen, however, happen to be the perfect transition to my next pick- another fabulous all star band.

Hey Mama, the story of your little drummer boy (I know he's good!) reminded me of my first experience with rock music. The boy next door was a little older than me, and every time he came home from school, he would play the same two songs so loud I could hear them through the walls: Deep Purple's Smoke On The Water and this one.

I love Bonham's style, Mama. So strong, powerful. The guy was a genius. Can understand why the remaining 3 decided to disband when he past. Miss them though.

How about some soul. These 5 are still performing and sometimes they come up to a casino not too far away from where I live. Some day I'll dance in the isle when they do this song. It's their first big hit

And Smokey Robinson. One of the best and one of the first,(if not the first),recording artists at Motown.

Just like to add that Motown had one of the best studio bands ever. The Funk Brothers. I love the sound that comes out of a sax. Some of the finest I've heard is from these artists. Thanks dear Funk Brothers for all the music you gave to all of us.

Thanks for the bikini-girls in a convertible, moo-made me feel warmer... Didn't know where to put BW Stevenson at first, but to my own surprise the song sounded familiar. No need to argue about Robin Schulz- but he's not the only one:
