DWTS First Night

Zendaya and Val knocked my socks off, and evidently did so with the judges as well. Nobody that I can recall ever gets 8s on opening night.

Dorothy Hammill's dance was very evocative, although not as smooth as Zendaya's. I was surprised that Aly Raisman's wasn't better. Kelly Pickler was cute as a bug and showed some promise.

Sean was OK.

LOL WW = Sean was OK that looked like an afterthought to me. Zendaya really danced very well, I think Val is a very good choreographer and teacher. I really liked him and Kelly last season and felt they got robbed on scores more than once but what do I know? Jacoby (sp) looked really slumped down to me while he danced - well even during the judges critique. He had some good hip action but other than that I didn't think he was that good. I guess it is easy to see why I am the side of the TV screen that I'm on and not judging - huh!

Pretty much the same thing in my book in fact I just yawned while I was typing this!

I almost didn't watch. So tired of politics and controversy on the show. But I'm so glad I did. With the exception of the DL person, I thought everyone was either good or might have potential after the nerves were blown out on this first night.

Zendaya was terrific, and I think Kellie would have received 8's if she hadn't performed first. Jacoby was so fun to watch, I didn't care about his posture.

Yes, Sean was a yawn. And for those who don't watch the Bach, he wouldn't warrant votes.

I was looking at Aly during the rehearsal and noticed the huge gut. She looked like a bear in her costume. It got me wondering. All those hours and all those days in the gym, burning off all those calories. It must be difficult now to keep off the weight. Completely different lifestyle.

I had no idea who the Lisa woman was but found myself annoyed with her attachment to that dog. And when she smiled, I kept getting a face-flashover of Melissa Gilbert.

I'm glad Andy Dick has stopped living up to his name. I thought he would be the controversial figure this season. Kinda felt sorry for him. He seemed so eager to do well and not disappoint. Awkward, but I hope he'll loosen up now that he's past that first dance.

I know I'm rambling but I didn't expect to enjoy the show so much.

Oh, and Gleb. What a nice little hottie to replace Maks. The young girls will have a new heartthrob. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

We lost power last night, so couldn't watch the show. Guess I'll have to watch online somewhere and see how they did.

Had about 6 inches of snow this morning. The power is back, but it is chilly outside and the weather isn't great (freezing rain). My snow plow guy torn up my lawn a little bit. Guess I'll be spending some effort this spring to try to fix it.

Thanks for posting this Bach and sorry you lost your power last night. Six more inches of snow? Isn't tomorrow supposed to be the first day of spring? Someone must have forgot to tell your weather maker there.

I'm eight minutes into the "DWTS Extended First Look." It appears to be the Reader's Digest version of the first Monday night. In other words, an edited repeat.

I'm watching it also and they are putting the dancing order of the the worst to the best it looks like. I think they are showing a few things that were not in last night's show or I might have missed a few things last which is entirely possible.

I didn't see anything on this Extended First Look show that I didn't already see last night.

It was just a time filler to hold that time slot.

you are probably right because from now on the elimination shows will be on Tuesday nights.
